Re: Now Playing
I finished the first episode of Game of Thrones. It is even less interactive than TWD from what I remember. Story is pretty good. Ending was great though plus the preview for next chapter has me excited for the next one.
Re: Now Playing
Pokemon has an entire second quest after the Elite 4 so that was a pleasant surprise. Juggling that, Smash (mostly just practice for when I play with my friends), Dragon Age (just got to the part where it's starting to feel like a Bioware game rather than an Ubisoft game), and Wolfenstein (fantastic so far, only had this much fun with South Park and Bayonetta this year).

Almost beat splinter cell but I got annoyed at the last boss. I hate last encounters where they're all like "you know ALL those things you've been doing/getting better at using the whole game? Fuck that shit, let's just throw you into an encounter that's arbitrary and stupid"

Re: Now Playing
I started up Alien Isolation and I LOVE it so far. It looks great, they did a good job optimizing it to run on PC. But I love how slow of a burn the start is. Played it for about an hour and no scary stuff, no aliens yet but the world building is great, they've really nailed the atmosphere and that 80's sci-fi feel.

I'm surprised it took you this long to get to it in all honesty.

Re: Now Playing
The two games I've been playing the most lately are...
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - I never played it originally. I know it has nothing to do with GTAV, but I want to beat this game before I get V for Christmas. I'm really enjoying it. The combat sucks, but there's something that's just so much fun about these games. Also, I love the car controls in this game as opposed to IV. Hope V is more like the old PS2 games.
Killzone Mercenary - I'm still working on the last trophy I need which is getting 10,000 kills. I've found a way to get at least 70 kills every 10 minutes. If I'm really doing well I can manage 90-100. The most I got in 10 minutes was 110. Right now I'm 800 kills away. Hopefully only 100 more minutes of this. I've played this game so much in the last two months I'm getting sick of it.

More of a money issue than anything else, but it was 50% off the other day so I jumped.

Dragon Age just vastly improved after I got a new hub area. Story's getting much more of a focus and getting some neat new twists while there's more areas to explore and more stuff to do. Enjoying it more every time I turn it on.

Re: Now Playing
I completely agree. I felt like the characters were all being pretty boring up until that point and was getting worried. Still sad I don't get to have my own mabari this time around though.volvocrusher wrote:Dragon Age just vastly improved after I got a new hub area. Started up Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. It is really fun so far.
Also been replaying some LBP3 levels for goodies/acing purposes.

Are you playing the co-op trip or just the single player?

Re: Now Playing
I only played it singleplayer so far. I will try co-op next time one of my gaming friends comes over. I'm more of a couch co-op guy than an online one.
Re: Now Playing
i impulse bought Borderlands the presequel cause it was 30 dollars and got a couple hours in it tonight. Gunplay is much tighter than in 2 it controls really well, and its fun to shoot shit. The script is cringeworthy as hell though. Especially the dialogue
Re: Now Playing
Nearing the end of Alien... I like this game but my god they just didn't know when to stop. Every time you think you're done it comes up with something else. This has basically been happening for at least the last 4 hours I've played (I'm at 20 now.) On top of this it's starting to do it in individual sections, too, which is what's really annoying

Re: Now Playing
Pre-sequel is pretty fun if you can put up with the bad writing. It's more of the same as the other games with a slightly improved design. The game's writing is definetly a low point for the series though.
Re: Now Playing
In the first Borderlands I literally had no idea what the story was. The only thing I knew is that I was to get to that diamond on the map and kill shit.

Re: Now Playing
The writing was better in 1 and 2 though it was far from stellar still entertaining. Pre-sequel's is just plain bad hopefully it gets better i'm only level 6

Man, I have had a bad week for playing video games. Too busy! Hopefully I'll get some good gaming time in over the holidays!

Hey Kubert, let me know if you do get the new Lara Croft since I got it on PC also. Pretty fun so far, but I'm not too deep into it. Dragon Age has me sucked in.

Re: Now Playing
Gave CoD Advanced Warfare a shot thanks to Steam's free multiplayer weekend. It's the greatest Titanfall ad I've seen so far
Seriously though, CoDs saving grace has always been it's controls and they just felt so sluggish in comparison. Plus it's ugly and it lags terribly. This series needs a break

Re: Now Playing
I've taken a 3 year break on CoD to not be terribly annoyed with the game. These games only shine for me when me and 3 other friends play private 2 v 2 matches. The last friend we need is getting a PS4 this Christmas so I'll be getting some enjoyment out of it.

Flying in Grand Theft Auto games has always sucked. Finally got my air license in San Andreas, but it wasn't fun doing it.

Just so you know, the new Lara Croft game has only released on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Not that I'd rule out an eventual PS3 version, but there hasn't been one announced.
