E3 2014 takes place from June 10th-12th (though press conferences start the day before). This thread is a place for us to discuss any news or rumors you hear about what may show up there as well as what you hope shows up there. Or even perhaps what you think each console manufacturer should do. So have at it. I will try and gather up some recent rumors to plop in here for us to discuss.

I'm pretty excited for this E3. Everyone's got their systems out so now it's up to them to sell everyone on them. Meaning tons of focus on games. Hoping Sony announces quite a few PS4 games.

I would love to see Far Cry 4 and a new Prince of Persia and rumors indicate they are being worked on.

Rumors for Far Cry 4 include it being sent in the Himalayas, having ridable elephants and possibly even monsters to fight. Snowy Far Cry is something I want. Supposedly it would release in the first half of 2015. Both FC3 and Blood Dragon did well, so I think this will be there.

Prince of Persia is supposedly a 2D game using the UbiArt engine (Rayman Origins and Legends). Ubisoft seems to always have a PoP game in development. They have seemingly canned a few since 2008. So them working on one doesn't give me much faith we will see it. I would also prefer a 3D game, but would take a 2D one.

Really hoping to see either what Sony Bend or Media Molecule is working on for PS4. Updates on Uncharted and Gravity Rush 2 would be good. Sony has been a little quiet on internally developed PS4 games so best show some good stuff on that front.

Besides the obvious want for more focus on current gen games across the three consoles (not the multi gen crap going on), I'd like to see some commitment to the hardware. The Wii U needs to justify the awesome gamepad. Sony and Xbone need to sort out streaming.

Something I do not want to hear is any of the three hyping the mobile business model on consoles. I threw up in my mouth typing that. Apple did it well, guys. Get over it. There's no money there. Sony should know with the Vita AT&T debacle.

The only company I'm really paying attention to at E3 is Nintendo. Maybe Sony, too, I guess. I couldn't care less about EA/Acti/Ubi. I'm hoping for a surprise here and there but not holding my breath.

For some strange, strange reason I still genuinely have hope for The Last Guardian. Even if it comes out now it'd be shit but goddamn it I want it. I blame FFXV for rekindling my hope. HL3, I don't even know anymore. I'll be interested once it eventually gets shown no doubt.

Something that's even less likely to happen is Sony announcing some sweet ass new exclusives for the Vita and heavily focusing on them. During the inevitable 'Guys we have indie games!' section I'm hoping a FTL: Faster Than Light port gets announced for the Vita.

I'll have to think about this some more and post again later but at the top of my head I'd love to see a Fallout 4 announcement. Other than that I want to be surprised by new IP announcements.

As always, the cynical side of me agrees with Killa...I just want more new IPs but I somehow doubt I'll be impressed on that front.

On the NON-new IP front...I do it every year, but a broken clock is wrong twice a day so...HALF LIFE 3. Gonna happen this year...>_>

Does anyone think that the next Half Life (HL3 or HL2 Episode 3) can possibly live up to expectations at this point?

No. It could be the best designed shooter ever but once the initial "I'm actually playing Half-Life 3 now" feeling passes people will be let down simply because it won't have the same impact. Unless they come up with something absolutely insane that knocks it out of the park.

As much as I love HL2, the sequel has never been one of those I was rabidly waiting for (I'm not sure why). So I think personally at least it could live up to expectations for me. I think there is even less chance of seeing that at E3 than The Last Guardian though.

Also I'd say if they tried to roll out an Episode 3 instead of a full blown Half-Life 3 I'd be laughing for days.

It would live up to my expectations insomuchas if it was just another good campaign with nice graphics and something cool like the Gravity Gun I'd be happy.

Will it live up the expectations the gaming-world at large has set for it? No way in hell.

Here is a bit of news

It says EA will unveil a game set to release in 2014 at E3 and show off six more set to release later on (past March of 2015 presumably). Star Wars Battlefront is one of those six. Maybe Mirror's Edge 2 as well. And probably a new Mass Effect I imagine and GI speculates the same.

I really hope there's a new Mass Effect in the works. If they can combine 1's structure with 3's polish on a current gen platform that can support it...

So one rumor that has been floating around for years is Guerrilla Games' is doing an rpg. Now they are doing a new IP. They have said this many times. I guess some hirings and other things lead people to believe they might be doing an rpg (Off-hand I recall them hiring a writer who worked on Fallout New Vegas who kind of mentioned specializing in that sort of writing plus some job listings).

Anyway, my question is would that excite anyone? After playing Killzone Shadow Fall, I'd have little faith in there ability to do a more open style of game and there skills seem to be competitive multiplayer-based. Could all be nonsense anyway, but figured I'd throw it out there.

I'm definitely interested. I don't think Guerilla is as good a developer as they get credit for, but I'd definitely want to see them pull off an RPG.

As cool as that rumor sounds, it feels more like a fanboy who gathered up every possibility mixed them with some rumors and put it all into one E3 show. A little too good to be true kind of thing. Hope a few of those things happen though. Some pretty cool things in there.

I doubt that list is accurate but I'd be on board with a lot of those things. GT6 coming to PS4 would just be annoying, though. Enough with the remakes already. Though I'd probably buy it since I never bought it for Ps3

A Guerilla RPG would be interesting but I agree that they aren't as good as people seem to think. I haven't played a good single player game from them yet. KZ1 had it's moments but was bogged down in glitches

I personally wouldn't expect the Guerilla RPG to be any good, I'm just hope it's true because it'll be interesting to see what they do exactly.

Edit: Chad Warden needs to host Sonys E3 this year. That guy is ballin'.
