Yeah just show some of your hand here Sony. They have a ton of internal studios working on PS4 games. I hope they show a few. I honestly think the only AAA PS4 games shown that are developed internally will be Uncharted, Driveclub, and that Beast Souls game. Plus The Order which is "second-party" or whatever you want to call it. No Media Molecule or Santa Monica from what I understand. Not sure on Guerrilla. I doubt Bend, but would personally love to see their game.

Oh and Gravity Rush 2 for Vita show that.

The Xbox One has a big chance of becoming the better choice (at least in Canada) this e3. Though if the Ps4 gets an exclusive Souls game (or whatever From is making) that could almost be enough for me. If I'm unsure I'll probably just buy a Wii-U

EA mentioned there would be an update on Mirror's Edge and that Criterion's new game would be at their E3 conference.

The Ps4 was raised to 450 in Canada because of the dollar but as far as I know the kinect-less Xbone bundle will still be 400. The whole ordeal is wacky

I hope Criterion's game is a new Burnout or a new IP. Actually, even Black 2 would be more interesting than another Need for Speed. I like both series' but turn one into the other kind of dulls the best things about them both

Here is a list of IGN's demo schedule. Just to give another idea of what games will be at E3. Also for the Crystal Dynamics game it is being announced on the GT/Spike stream not in a press conference, so I'm guessing a digital title and not TR2. Could be wrong though.

Okay so I mentioned on Twitter that I was hoping for less cross-gen games at E3. Avid was like, (paraphrasing:P) "Hey why do you hate me and my last-gen buddies so much." (This was a joke. He didn't say that at all. He was saying why not put games on last gen too. So we just got into the conversation of whether there should still be cross-gen stuff and I said I'd continue it where I wasn't limited by characters like on Twitter).

Last gen hardware is ancient. I feel like making cross-platform games probably means they aren't using the full potential of the new consoles. A sort of least common denominator thing or maybe some middleground area where the high end stuff doesn't reach its potential and the lower stuff runs like shit. So games that are only PS4/Xbox One/PC (sorry no Wii U either) will be able to theoretically do better stuff. What developers will do with that, I am not sure. I feel like a Far Cry 4 just on next gen platforms would be a better game than a cross-gen one. Am I sure? No. But this is what I was trying to say.

I wasn't blaming the delays on last gen versions. Delays are fine if the games end up better. I wasn't saying I wanted people that haven't bought a PS4 or Xbox One to not play the same games as me. I was just saying developing just for the newest consoles would probably mean a better overall game.

Also a better solution for cross-gen for quality I'd say is what Ubi is doing with AC. Last gen people still get a game, but PS4/Xbone get a game made specifically for those consoles.

I'm obviously not up on all things Mass Effect, but I guess Bioware Montreal is making the next game and their studio director said on Twitter that he will be going to E3 for the first time in eight years. Feel like that is a fairly good confirmation that the new Mass Effect will be there in some form.

Edit: Sorry thinking on it now, it was in poor taste since people here might not have known that aren't on Twitter. I edited the above statement. What you want will happen eventually but I don't think it will happen this year. If a company wants to make last-gen ports of a game, they can; I just don't see how that affects current-gen. The install base for last-gen is still too considerable to ignore for these publishers/developers. Within a year or two, that will change. We'll see next week.

Honestly, I'd laugh because that is hilarious. Of course, I'd assume you were joking because no one I know says that kind of stuff to friends of theirs unless it is a joke. And I really think of everyone here as a good friend of mine. I'll be sure to cut that stuff out from now on though.

I'm not saying it will happen this year. Just that I want it too. I am not sure why you can't see cross-gen games harming the products delivered on the newer platforms. I figured it was kind of something everyone believed after multiple generation transitions. Do you think they are getting the best out of AI on PS4/Xbone if they are working on cross-gen stuff? Do you think it is coincidental that a game like Infamous looks better graphically than Watch Dogs on PS4?

Obviously I don't have a stake in the companies bottom lines. I want to see improvement in the medium, so them missing out on the last gen install base isn't my biggest concern.

Obviously I have a next-gen system, so I don't lose out on the deal. Just as an example though I'd never want Mario Kart 8 to be on the Wii. I don't have a Wii U yet. I'm not sure when I get to one. But putting it across both platforms would hurt the product. Long before I had a PS4 or even knew what Destiny would be on. I said it should be exclusive to next gen (PS4 and the next Xbox and PC) because I thought it would result in a better game.

Also I think Watch Dogs breakdown ended up in like 49% sold being the PS4 version. I think most of the big new games announced for E3 will be 2015 games at which point current gen adoption will be higher. So I don't think it would kill them to leave last gen out. And I truly believe it would result in better games.

That's all I really care about too. I get why so many games are cross gen, they started before the PS4/Xbone were even announced. But now that those systems are current gen, I think it's time to test them out and see what we can really do.

Not having played Infamous or Watch Dogs, I'm limited here but the consensus I've heard/read is that Sucker Punch simply made a better game than Ubisoft. Like a lot of the problems with Watch Dogs had to do more with design choices and story than visual performance. Those things can hurt any game, current-gen or not.

I can't recall a previous generation where they developed so many cross-gen games. I mean it happened occasionally with the PS3 getting PS2 releases but mostly it went one way or the other I thought.

It does scream money-grubbing though. Can't exactly experiment with the new hardware if you're trying to write a graphics engine that can be used in a rudimentary fashion on both generations of hardware.

EDIT: Also, as disappointed as I am with Square's lack of FF and KH at E3 I couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Oh, you mean those 2 things...and only those two things that fans want to see and want released? Yeah, naw, we're not showing those."

Honestly, I think E3's going to be leaning a lot more towards true current gen rather than cross-gen. Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age: Inquisition will probably be exceptions rather than the rule. Ubisoft is more the exception since they love putting every game on everything even if some systems end up with terrible ports.

I'm setting my expectations very low this year. I mainly want Xbone and WiiU to explain why I should care about either. What platform anything is on is kind of annoying at this point if you have a decent PC. Trip echoed something I always state: I don't give a fuck about the company's bottom line, I just want to know what they can do for me. eg. Watch Dogs is great on PS4 even with last-gen graphics so I'm OK with it. (Please note I understand what all parties are saying here. But I'm concerned about my interests so TO HELL WITH YOU ALL!)

See when we were on Twitter, I thought maybe I just wasn't explaining myself well enough to avid, but really we just disagree on the whole premise of what I'm saying. Avid doesn't seem to think making a game that will release on both sets of consoles does anything to hurt the the higher end version. I do (and I know Greenman agrees with me on this, others I'm not sure on). So I think we just disagree which is fine. If I'm just doing a poor job getting my point across, then I will keep trying, but I don't think that is it.

And this gen without a doubt has less compromises than ever before. I mean, look at what GTA 2 looked like to what GTA 3 looked like. Dreamcast could have handled a GTA 3 caliber game since the PSP did and they're more or less the same power, the only difference was GTA 2 was on PS1. Just imagine how different things could be if GTA 2 came out developed from the ground up for DC with current gen visuals.

Fast forward to last gen, and cross gen wasn't exactly like it was now, but for argument's sake, let's say God of War 2 had a PS3 port. A port that was more or less God of War 2 HD, with maybe prettier graphics. Maybe even close to 3. All it takes is to compare Colossus of Rhodes in 2 to Gaia in 3 to know they were doing stuff on PS3 they couldn't do with 2. Then there was Mass Effect using facial expressions to be able to show rather than tell for its cutscenes. Tricks they couldn't do if the games were on PS2/Xbox.

This gen, I'll admit cross gen offers the least compromises. But I still want to see what these uncharted waters hold for us. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Of course I do. And within the next year or so, you'll get what you want. But the reality is that we're still in a cross-gen "phase" and your new system isn't even a year old yet.

(this post is referencing Greenman's latest post). I don't think you are wrong. Leaps aren't as big as they used to be. I don't think we actually know what compromises are being made though. Mass Effect came out two years after the 360 launch and God of War came over three years after the PS3 launch. So maybe by then in the current gen timelines, you'll think they are more comparable. Maybe you won't, but it is hard to say now right? I think you'll ultimately be right, but I'm not sure we'd know now for sure what we are missing out on I guess.
