The Pre-E3 2016 Thread Empty The Pre-E3 2016 Thread

Two weeks out from E3, so I figured I'd throw a thread up. Feel free to post any wishes or predictions in here. I will post any rumors I find as I see them. I'll try to periodically post some questions to discuss before the show. Let's start with the go-to Pre-E3 question:

What game do you most hope to see announced at E3? Maybe pick one announcement that would be a bit out there and another more on the realistic side.

The Pre-E3 2016 Thread Empty Re: The Pre-E3 2016 Thread

First realistic one that came to mind is God of War 4. It would probably only be a teaser, but given the likely setting change that could be exciting on its own. Supposedly Sony Bend is working on a horror game called Dead Don't Ride with motorcycles and an open world maybe. Can't say that is exactly what I'd want them working on, but that seems like it might be ready to be shown. That'd be cool.

I feel like my unrealistic wishes are always the same. New Jak, Prince of Persia, Beyond Good and Evil, etc. I think a new Sly may be shifting towards this side of the wishes unfortunately.

I'd like to see some more on Horizon: Zero Dawn, Gears 4 and Gravity Rush 2. Those should all be there. I'm looking forward to seeing Watch Dogs 2 which is confirmed to be there. And of course, Zelda. Oh and ReCore. Hopefully that makes an appearance.

No Nintendo outside of Zelda definitely takes some fun out of the show. NX would have been interesting too. Can't say I'm excited to see either of the mid-gen upgrade consoles if they show up.

I would like to see Persona 5 get a US release date announced for this year. But that's not really the type of game that usually gets E3 coverage. Hopefully I'm wrong though!

I've heard Atlus is notoriously short-handed for E3 but I want nothing more htan a P5 release. My most anticipated JRPG by far.

The Pre-E3 2016 Thread Empty Re: The Pre-E3 2016 Thread

As far as release dates, I'd like to know if Horizon and The Last Guardian are this year. Though with release dates these days, I'm not sure they mean much if they are five to six months out. And of course, I won't believe TLG is releasing until I boot it up on my PS4.

A few more things I've read about maybe happening:

-A new Spiderman game by Sony. Some seem to think Sucker Punch is working on this, but it seems to be totally random speculation given they've done superhero games recently. I'd personally rather Sucker Punch be working on something non-superhero related.

-A new Wolfenstein. It's existence is kind of a no brainer (plus a voice actor basically said they were working on it) and it has been long enough that they might announce this at E3 I guess.

-Suicide Squad game by WB Montreal. This is certainly a thing. With the movie coming soon, you'd think they'd show the game.

And Crash and Battletoads have been hinted at plenty too of course.

Sucker Punch doing a Spider-Man game would be fantastic. After the Festival of Blood (I think that's what it was called), I thought Sucker Punch would do a fantastic job of making a Buffy game. A Buffy fanatic can dream!

Yeah, I'm sure they'd do a great job, but I'd much rather Sucker Punch just do their own stuff as opposed to working on someone else's IP/licensed stuff.

A lot of trailers hitting today. Really liked these two:

Horizon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4-FCsiF5x4

Yooka Laylee: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1gxLvbX3Ow

Looks like I'll finally get my chance to re-try FFXII. Maybe I'll like it this time!

I'd be excited for a Sucker Punch Spidey game obviously,  especially if they built on 2's web swinging. Every Spider-Man game since dumbed it down and it was so freaking good. My first choice though would actually be the God of War guys, think they could do interesting things letting you web objects in the environment and swinging them around for attacks. But they're obviously going to work on GoW4.

As for what I want, Crash obviously, and I'd like to see Nintendo announce Elite Beat Agents 2 and (now I'm really stretching) a 3D Kirby game for Wii U. Think they're almost certain to put Kirby on the thing this year though. I'd also want Kotor 3, a new Rayman, and a new Prince of Persia.

As for games we know on, Horizon and ReCore only if we get a good solid 10-15 minutes of gameplay. Also hope we can get some gameplay on Agents of Mayhem but I doubt it.

IGN said this in regards to Agents of Mayhem:

IGN wrote:Over the course of the month, here’s some of what you can expect to see:

-A developer’s analysis of the debut trailer, offering more insight into what you’ve just seen.
-First-ever gameplay footage.
-Written and video previews based on our hands-on time.
-A look inside Volition and the making of Agents of Mayhem.
-Other stuff!

This is just the beginning! For much more on Agents of Mayhem, check back here on IGN throughout the month, starting on Wednesday!

So seems like we'll get gameplay footage soon enough. I ended up really enjoying SRIV, so I'm looking forward to seeing what this will bring.

Just thought of another I'd like to see. That Amy Hennig/Visceral Games Star Wars game. There is also supposed to be "Exciting Tomb Raider news" (Square Enix's wording). Would be cool if it was that Croft Manor DLC they were thinking about!

Some other rumors I read last night were: A Skyrim remaster, Evil Within 2 and Prey 2 being there in addition to Wolfenstein 2 (or whatever you want to call it) from Bethesda.

That Star Wars game does sound like a winner. I want Kotor 3 more obviously but I'd settle with that if they have something cool to show

I've also heard talk that Insomniac might be doing that Spiderman game. It is pretty hard to sort through what is just pre-E3 nonsense and what isn't so big grain of salt and all that.

Also a lot of talk about a new Red Dead game. And it sounds like God of War 4 will almost certainly be making an appearance. How much of one... not sure.

It's too bad there isn't a Vita version of XII, I think I would have preferred that version. Final Fantasy X was awesome on the Vita.

I didn't realize EA was on Sunday. I have to work on Monday, but I think I may just miss Microsoft's and some of Ubi's. At least I will be around for all of Sony's.
