Not impossible. But extremely difficult. I actually did it the first time I even played it. I didn't even know about the bad ending until my buddy borrowed it from me and complained about how shitty the ending was. Luckily he had multiple saves and was able to go back. But you're right. The game does a pretty terrible job telling you what you answer has actual consequence... especially considering every dialogue option to that point really didn't impact the story.

Yeah well you also beat Mass Effect 2 your first run without anyone dying. You just get lucky with this kind of stuff

I can understand how people would get turned off by Wind Waker because of the mechanics; sailing specifically.  But the knocks against the art was stupid. I think now as I thought then, the art is the most incredible and gorgeous of the series. 

I've never played a perfect game. Wind Waker comes close in ALL aspects.

It's brilliant because of the way it convinces you to make the wrong choice. But it's also stupid because it's nearly impossible to make the right choices anyway

Wasn't the translation messed up that made one crucial answer not mean what it read? At least they tell you to save before you go into that part... so the chances you completely f' yourself is pretty low.

Yes alot of people bashed it for the artstyle because Link was too cartoony, but now alot consider it to have the best artstyle in the series. As for the sailing, they are actually fixing it for the Wii U, you now have the option to sail faster, or normally if you want to keep it old school. As for the art, I agree, it still looks incredible today for a 10 year old game. It may not be perfect, but WW comes close to perfection. Unlike Super Mario World which pure perfection.

My issues with Windwaker aren't with the artstyle which I love, but the disappointing dungeons (in both number and complexity) and rather predictable and not all that exciting to explore water-based overworld. It is also by what I can tell the Zelda game that started the trend of making them too easy as well. I love the game still, but I do think these reasons put it pretty far from perfection in my mind.

SMW is inarguably perfection. I forgot about that one >.<

@Trip- Your points are very valid and I concede the difficulty. While I disagree with you on it being far from perfect, I'm sure we can agree that this is a game that deserves a playthrough for any gamer.

Also, my Jak and Daxter collection didn't get here today and Amazon estimates it to arrive Wednesday. Boo, Amazon. Boo. You rarely disappoint

The dungeons is one of the weakest aspects of the game, so I agree. I wish they would have added the dungeons that were cut out from the original into WW HD. But I heard that while they were indeed cut out, they have already been used in later Zelda games.

I've been playing Fire Emblem on and off, and it's... I don't know. I have a lot of fun when I play it, but I rarely have the urge to play it. This makes no sense to me.

Though I'm sure playing games like The Last of Us or Metroid Prime at the same time isn't helping

I like The Witcher 2...getting it to run smoothly on the other hand...

I do the same thing sometimes when playing games.  Sometimes I'll play a game I don't like that much over one that I do like.

So Amazon hasn't shipped my pre-order of Muramasa CE. I don't care who the fuck is to blame- Aksys, Amazon, pre-order gnomes- I will be more than a little pissed off if I don't get it or don't get some compensation.

Maybe it's amazon since I'm sure Aksys has done their job of shipping to retail.

@Matt, without spoiling anything, how is Zero Escape so far?

I decided to stop playing Halo 4 anymore about 20 minutes ago (as I'm posting this). I ranted about it over at Pixilbit but basically: control issues in MP kept creeping up and I haven't had a good time with it in so long.

I need to resume Ni No Kuni to feel better.

I only played Zero Escape for about an hour. It seems pretty cool. Its basically a point and click adventure game with some visual novel stuff. The controls are kinda weird... it took me about 10 minutes to get the hang of it. The first puzzle was pretty clever so I'm looking forward to seeing what's next! I also got Muramusa... I played a lot more of that than Zero Escape.

What kind of game is Muramusa?  Is it a side scroller action game?  Kind of like a Contra game with a sword instead of guns?  It looks intriguing to me.

Also, playing Ni No Kuni instead of something else is always the right choice.

I wish I could tell you, Bret. I passed on it for Wii because...and I may get some hate...I don't like the Wii specifically for the controls. And now Amazon is fucking me over on the CE because I. don't. fucking. know. why. I'm pretty ticked and may get all up in a CSRs business. I can tell you that Odin Sphere on PS2 is badass and it's now on PSN if you dig these graphics.

Zero Escape is definitely different. I really like it, but it came at a time when I want to be busting heads in Muramasa so my hearts not in it. Everything Matt said is how I feel about it.

I always got the idea Muramasa was a 2D action rpg.

I finished up my Survivor run on The Last of Us, so I think I will give Deus Ex: Human Revolution a shot tomorrow.

le sigh. 10 minutes after I bitch about it, Amazon sends me a shipping confirmation email for Muramasa.

I'm staying away from everything Last Of Us until I get to play it. Is it a keeper, Trip? Or a one'n'done type of thing? That influences what price point I jump on.

It's a keeper. Excellent storytelling and really fun and intense combat/enemy encounters. Without saying too much there is a lot more depth to the combat than say Uncharted which I think will likely give it more replay value for people. Also very lengthy campaign for a linear action(y) game this gen.

Also random video with Sucker Punch from Game Informer. Pretty cool. Talks about the Sly series, playing Thieves in Time, how Sly 3 was kind of rushed, being bought by Sony, plus some other stuff. Love the wall of letters from kids about Sly!

Trip, Muramasa is actually a hell of a lot like that Dust game that came out on 360. The only RPG elements are you level up after killing a bunch of enemies and you get some equipment... but that's about it. You can forge swords and what not... but that is basically collecting enough souls (coins in mario) to be able to make them.

So is it a platformer? An action platformer?

pspiddy, I don't blame you for passing on the Wii version. Their controls do suck.
