Re: Now Playing
Going to be playing all of the good Naughty Dog games leading up to The Last of Us' release. By good ones, I mean Crash 2-3, Jak 1/3, and Uncharted 2

Re: Now Playing
Still playing Dragon's Dogma and I'm starting to really love this game a lot. Using a Magick Archer now, and that class is the best thing ever its Magick Bow is godlike. Mostly been grinding with my New Game+ on Hard Mode. The problem with hard mode is it makes the main game better, but the Dark Arisen expansion a complete and utter bitch. Might wait till i beat the main quest on hard to go any further in it. Or at least wait till im over level 100. 68 now.
Re: Now Playing
There's a lot to do and its combat is some of my favorite. There's 3 basic classes, and they all play really different. The Fighter plays like an action game, Strider like a third person shooter, and mage requires more thought of what to use in the right situation rather than quick reflexes, etc. Then there's 3 advanced classes which are basically the same thing but more powerful, and 3 hybrid classes which mix two of the 3. Magick Archer is my favorite the Magick bow has tracking and some really neat skills. Also daggers that can cast spells that deal physical damage.
You can also switch your class whenever you want which is really nice.

Re: Now Playing
Replayed Crash 2. Such a great game. Not as good as 3, but has some of the best platforming around. Gonna start Jak 1 now. Will play Crash 3 right before Last of Us.

I can't think of one game with great friendly AI except maybe Elizabeth in Bioshock Infinite but you didn't NEED her, she would just dispense things to you randomly so she felt more helpful/had her stupidness well hidden.

Re: Now Playing
I decided to reach into the backlog to try and find something to pull out and went with Donkey Kong Country Returns. Felt a little rough jumping into world 6 where I left off, but a few beat up mine carts later and I was back in my groove.
Re: Now Playing
Really can't get through Hitman: Absolution. It's just so dull. The story is the most uninteresting thing I've ever played so there's no incentive with that, the point system is completely counter-productive with the whole 'Play how you want' style those games should have, there's the enemy AI is pretty inconsistent, the crowded levels are a waste of time due to the fact everyone can still shoot you through the crowd without hitting them which makes the whole thing feel hollow, the maps feel really small.
Just gonna crawl back to playing DOTA all the time again.

Re: Now Playing
I got a bit of progress done in Ni No Kuni (DS), haven't quite figured out the capture mechanic (not sure if it's the same as the PS3 version).
Might just chill out with some Earthbound tonight as i prepare for another long week @_@

I got really excited when she yelled "ON YOUR LEFT!" in one of the trailers to warn you of an oncoming enemy. Sure enough, I never had anything like that happen in-game. But ya, they just kept her simple and out of the way—yet useful.

Re: Now Playing
Finished Donkey Kong Country Returns today. Good game. Don't really care for the mine cart/rocket levels or the boss fights. A little too much trial and error involved at times in those. And I just don't really like when platformers remove full control plus it limits the level design. Plenty of ways to keep me moving without doing that. And this game even does that at times making those other ones kind of look worse by comparison. Normal levels were largely excellent though.
Going to look through the backlog and see what else I might be able to knock off.

Re: Now Playing
Despite my huge backlog and Fuse coming tommorow i still bought P3P for my Vita XD. I kept telling myself not to play P4G, and ended up doing this instead GODDAMMIT!
Re: Now Playing
After getting my Up Your Arsenal platinum I moved onto Deadlocked. Besides Secret Agent Clank, it's the only Ratchet game I haven't played. Reading online forums it is really glitchy, and has auto save problems. They suggested to make multiple save files so I figured I'd let others know.

Yeah I should be playing this, but grabbed my brother's copy of Castlevania Lords of Shadow and am playing that. I don't know what I'm doing either. I really don't.
Re: Now Playing
So I really like Fuse I put about 6-7 hours into it today. I can't say it does anything different or special (beyond not being completely made for the brodude crowd and having a halfway decent cast and story) but I'm really digging it. Glad I picked it up I NEED more third person shooters that don't give me eye cancer.
I've been soloing on hard, and just beat chapter 4.

Re: Now Playing
Still going strong with Far Cry 3's campaign. I'm probably 60-70% done. I still have the southern part of the island to unlock and Vaas and Hoyt to hunt down. This has pretty much been the only thing I've been playing for almost 2 weeks. Strange that I haven't felt burnout.

Re: Now Playing
I restarted Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. I recall getting stuck somewhere and never finishing it. Been too long to just jump back in though, so I started it over.
Re: Now Playing
I had my fill of Far Cry 3 so I sent it back to Gamefly today. It's a good game but it got repetitive and although I had half of of the last island conquered, I can't bring myself to keep going. I felt as though I've been ignoring other games. I'm keeping my game save in case I want to play it again.
Finished Killzone 2's campaign. The funny thing is that my last checkpoint was the final gunfight between Radec and his troops. Rico was a pain in the ass to keep reviving and he did me no favors when it was down to me and Radec. Speaking of that prick, it took me probably 20 rounds to take him down. I was trying different strategies before I realized the flamethrower was doing the real damage and alternated that with my pistol. Started the beginning part of Killzone 3's campaign but I've had enough for the night.

I'm thinking about getting Resident Evil: Revelations on Wii U. I guess I could get it on PS3 and get trophies, but I like the feel of it on Wii U better somehow.

How is that game (anyone play it already?). It seems to have much more of an RE4 vibe which interests me.

Re: Now Playing
So I played a game called F1 Race Stars at a friends house yesterday. Basically it's a kart racer version of an F1 racing game. I was surprised by how unique the physics were and how skill-based it was for a kart racer. I'm not sure people here would like it, but I thought it was pretty good and there was only one pick-up that I truly found unfair. So I guess my point is that I'm sort of coming around to kart racers and I'll give Sega All-Stars Transformed a shot as well.
My other point is that Mario Kart gets bonus points simply for being Mario Kart. 7 is an incredibly simple, almost entirely luck-based racer with tracks that are dull in comparison to F1. It has about $30 worth of content at most and half of the tracks are recycled. Yet it got much better reviews. /rant
@Twolf: I've only played the 3DS version of Revelations but I enjoyed it. I don't remember what 5 was like, but I remember hating the demo, so I'm guessing Revelations is closer to 4.

I played the demo and from what i can tell yeah its a lot like 4 with a few more modern conveniences, etc. My only issue was Normal felt way too easy. I could kill enemies with my knife and not get damaged at all while Infernal was a fucking pain in the ass. I'll be getting it sometime for sure.
Re: Now Playing
@ajapam If you get Sonic, get it on the PS3, Greenman, Matt, and I have it there. That and I'll glady set up a game night for it.

It is most definitely mine...but I've been playing mostly backlog this year so my GOTY is kind of skewed.
