Re: Now Playing
i in no way think Inquisition is better than Origins, but after that ball mission I'm convinced its coming damn close to it. This game has the scale of a bethesda RPG and it still keeps the Bioware quality storytelling and characters. Romances have more depth too, and for once affect story missions. Also actual nudity. You get to see tits.
Theres a few missteps here and there a few conversations are awkward (the one regarding Krem's gender is. None of the options it give you really seem appropriate. I'm glad they put him in and he's a good character just that part seemed forced and awkward) but theres just so much content and the majority of it is great. i apparently have 80 hours in it already fuck. I restarted halfway through though.

Re: Now Playing
Man I'm having so much fun playing Daxter again. I think I may need to replay Jak X again. Been ages since I've played through the story mode of that from the beginning.
Re: Now Playing
I never played Jak X or the other Jak PSP game, are they worth getting? Are they better than 2?

I'm actually super happy about this aspect. It's always something I thought when playing Skyrim or Dragon Age: "If I could just...jump around this world and explore a bit more" (In DA) and "If there was a bit more focused storytelling" (during Skyrim) and Inquisition seems to be doing a pretty good job of it. But man, this game has that HORRIBLE/awesome quality of "OK, I think I'll stop here. But I guess there's something right there on the map. I guess I'll check it out..." (THREE HOURS LATER)
I wish my computer ran it better though, I will say that.

I have that problem nearly every time i go to Skyhold. There's always a ton of cutscenes if you talk to your party members
Re: Now Playing
Gamefly sent me Assassin's Creed: Rogue (360) last week and I've had some time to fiddle with it. It isn't the broken, bug-riddled mess that Unity reportedly is. It's actually more like Black Flag, refined and with some added gameplay mechanics (having to deal with rival Assassins on missions). It looks and sounds great but the lead character is a dullard. If you liked Black Flag, it's a good rental I suppose. Just not what I'm in the mind for right now.

Re: Now Playing
Black Flag really should have been the only AC for 2014 so they could use that time to, well, finish Unity. Releasing two different games in the same series on the same day without finishing one is absurd. Also they could have put a playable female character in it so all the feminists would shut up.

Does anyone know how many games are in the Assassin's Creed series total now?

Re: Now Playing
Well Gamefly refuses to send me Mordor, so I rented Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Only ever finished the first game. I was about halfway through 2 and not really liking it when I lost my save. Will be jumping right to 3 in hopes I like that better. Then will jump back to 2 if that goes well (doing this is okay story-wise since 3 is a prequel right?).
Re: Now Playing
Yeah, 3 is a prequel and except one part at the very end that sheds some light on a huge WTF moment from 2, there's nothing from 2 you need to know.

Re: Now Playing
Won't hurt a thing mp,as Peace Walker as well, it's a great game. If you play it and need help I'll play with you since the whole game can be played with someone else.
The only problem with 2 is how much they take you out of the action in my opinion. I can see why people wouldn't like it though.

Re: Now Playing
My issue was more a lot of boring objectives. Swimming portions, searching for bombs, and sniper cover just weren't implemented in fun ways. Plus the area wasn't that fun or interesting to roam around in and the bosses were lamer. To this day I still have no idea if MGS2 is a good or bad game.

Re: Now Playing
Okay cool. I'll let you guys know once I get going.
I've mentioned this before but in regards to 2: Basically playing the first I really felt it had a great balance between cutscenes/talking, stealth and boss fights. You'd never be stuck doing one of those things too long. 2 wasn't like that at all based on what I played. Way too much watching between significant play sessions which I generally hate, not much in the way of memorable boss fights. I still hope to get back to it. But if I end up really liking 3, I figure it will be easier to trudge through the parts I played of 2 again so I can play the rest of it and get to 4 and whichever others come after that (MGR?).

Re: Now Playing
I need to look at my post before posting. I kind of have arthritis in my right wrist from breaking it in 7th grade, and sometimes it is hard to type on my iPad. So I apologize to anyone for putting m's in when it is supposed to be periods or spaces.
Never played MGR, never interested me much. Know you like them there Bayonetta games you might like it though.
Definitely way too much talking in MGS2, that dumb bitch Rose never shuts the hell up. Always calling and whining when I'm trying to be secretive and do some balls to the wall shit. If my room has nothing in it, get over it. (one of the things she called me on my Codec to complain about).
Metal Gear Solid games are the few games I feel everyone should play. Kind of like Mario or Zelda (even though I'm guilty when it comes to the last two).

Re: Now Playing
Really wish my MGS Collection had arrived today! I've really been playing nothing lately. Just replaying some old ones. Also hoping to be able to rent Dying Light next week. Looks pretty cool, but not so cool that it is worth buying... which is what Gamefly is made for.
Re: Now Playing
Super Mario World is frustrating. It's really densely loaded with cool stuff but then it tries to be too clever. "Beating" a level and making 0 progress is not fun and neither is going back and trying to figure out what you did wrong. Especially not when you just got through the world that was supposed to be the one dedicated to tricks like that

Re: Now Playing
I bought OlliOlli and Valiant Hearts: The Great War plus got MGS in the mail.
OlliOlli is pretty neat, but I haven't gotten the hang of it yet. Still a pretty cool take on the skating genre.
Valiant Hearts is really cool. Love the character designs and the music. Has an old school adventure game feel to it.
Metal Gear Solid I only just barely got to try. Never been a big fan of the controls for this series. Hopefully I will get used to them again.

Re: Now Playing
Snake Eater has great controls, nothing like MGS2.

Re: Now Playing
That is good to hear. I pretty much only played five minutes past the first cutscene, so really can't say myself.
Re: Now Playing
When the first Snake Eater released it had the same camera and pretty much same controls as 2, but they remade the controls and it controls really great. Every game since has controlled like a charm. So as long as you're not playing the original ps2 version you'll be fine.

Re: Now Playing
The controls are what always used to keep me playing Splinter Cell instead of really trying MGS. 4 really raised the bar for controls, though. It wasn't always the smoothest experience but the range of actions you could do was insane. Ground Zeroes cut back the options a little bit but it still tops every other series and is way more polished than 4

Re: Now Playing
I finished Valiant Hearts tonight and really loved it. The story really got to me. The music is so beautiful as is the artstyle. The gameplay is fairly simple yet still fun. Definitely preferable to Telltale's recent brand of adventure gameplay. I figured I'd like it as I have enjoyed most of the Ubi Montpellier games I've played, but I didn't expect to like it as much as I did.
Re: Now Playing
I've been hearing nothing good things about that game, definitely moving a few pegs up my wish list.

I got a review code for Grim Fandango and now that the embargo's up, I can now say how great this game is. Highly recommend it.
