Re: Now Playing
Beat Ground Zeroes on PC (just the story mission so far.) I'm definitely getting The Phantom Pain at or near launch. The PC version is pretty good as well apart from the slightly annoying menus. Given the number of side missions I think it was worth the $12 or so I spent even if it's basically a demo

Re: Now Playing
Started up Dragon Age Inquisition. Doesn't run AMAZING on my old man PC (3 years old and still going, brave little guy), but it does run. Need to tweak it a little more though. So far I'm liking it.
THOUGH, and I don't know if you guys are like this, but I tried making a character, was like "Eh...he's alright I guess" started the game, thought "I'VE MADE A MONSTER!" and had to start over.

Re: Now Playing
Most of the time creating a character just feels like a chore for me. I guess when I buy the game, I'm just so ready to really play it.

I just wish the character creation options for games that allow this allowed nicer options than what is generally presented. Generally even in the best situations your created characters look like they've been beaten with the ugly stick. I guess if you're looking to make your player character ugly it's cool. EVE Online as well as Namco fighting games generally have the best create-a-character options. I also don't miss character creation in games that do a good job with defined player characters.

Re: Now Playing
I don't like making characters much either. I like a nicely fleshed out one given to me. The only game I like to make one is in games like Diablo, and guess what they didn't let me do. Figures.

Re: Now Playing
Even the default faces they give you in Bioware games look like garbage. You'd think they'd give people a few decent default faces for those of us who suck at making new ones.

Re: Now Playing
i never had problems with DAI's character options
the camera angles are bad, but she's perfect
i only really had problems with ME and 2's editors the ones in dragon age were all pretty alright imo.

Re: Now Playing
I initially managed to make a pretty good face in Mass Effect 2, then I tweaked in a bit in 3 and thought it looked good in the creator. I ended up playing all of 3 looking like a weirdo. Same for Saints Row 3 to 4 so I just turned my character into a kickass sci-fi/60s robot girl

Re: Now Playing
The same thing happened for my character in ME but for me it was between Mass Effect 1 and 2...looked fantastic in 3.
I wish they'd let you tweak your hair/beard after the game starts...in long games sometimes you just get restless and want a beard.

Re: Now Playing
I'm still working on DKCR 3D. Trying to beat all the K levels and unlock the new world. Haven't been playing much else.
Re: Now Playing
I restarted Dragon Age Inquisition and I'm liking it a lot more now. Once i got the hang of the combat and stopped playing it like it was Origins I'm having a lot more fun with it. I actually really like how healing spells are replaced by barriers. It takes a while to get used to, but i now find myself with an overabundance of potions now that i've been using barriers effectively.
My party is primarly Me (Mage DPS), Dorian (Mage Support), Sera (Ranged DPS), and Cassandra (Tank)
I would also say after getting the Keep site to work and creating a custom world state its gotten a lot better too. I like having my Hero of Fereldan, Alistair (who is king btw), and Loghain alive. Though it doesnt feel as as much of an accomplishment selecting from menus as it does doing it in Origins cause theres a ton of dialogue hurdles to get this.

Re: Now Playing
Yeah, I didn't know about Keep, and my character looked crap so I restarted again. LE SIGH!
EDIT" Also, I must say, I am struggling to get that game running smoothly on my 3 year old PC. It is kind of crazy how technology works like that. No apps will install on my 2 year old ipod, games used to run VERY well on my laptop 2 years ago now new games run like crap. There is nothing like technology to make you feel truly old.

What apps aren't installing on your iPod? I have the same one (I assume you have 5th generation) and I haven't had any problems. You just might need to update your operating system.

PS+ is nice because you'll constantly get free games all year. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Kinda sucks that you lose them when the sub runs out, though, and I haven't been impressed with what they offer as free games so far. That said, I think it's nice that they continue to offer the "free" stuff even after PS+ is required to play online on PS4 a la XBL Gold.

Re: Now Playing
I thought the first 3 to 4 months last year were great with plus. They changed formats later in the year and that's when it went downhill. Last two months have been better.

Re: Now Playing
I knew once they started requiring PS+ for online they'd start to drop the ball as far as "free" games went and sure enough they did. Not to mention it is just really lame they make you pay to play online on PS4.
Re: Now Playing
What what what? This is an actual thing that happened? WTF?! What happened to that "We're better than XBone because we're free" talk that swayed me to their side?!

Re: Now Playing
Considering that I've had better luck with online play on PS4 than PS3, I don't see how the subscription is a problem in that regard. Also, I thought the free games we got last year was nothing to sneer at.

If they're charging money, the online had damn well better be improved, and Sony knows it. They can't chance losing customers on a steady revenue stream like PS+ subs. They've hopefully got a lot more incentive to avoid outages like the one over Christmas, let alone the huge clusterfuck of 2011, as well as to use some of that money to shore up the overall quality of the experience.

Re: Now Playing
I don't think it is too much expect competent online play when I buy a console and a game. Just because Sony couldn't deliver it with the PS3 shouldn't mean I have to pay for it on PS4 in my opinion.
Also good to see we are catching Twolf up with news from a year and a half ago.

Re: Now Playing
Paying for online would probably bother me if I wasn't already an active PS+ subscriber. My only complaint is the quality did dip the last 6 months but seems like it is picking up again. Instead of Injustice I wish we would have gotten Knack for free. I know when I finally bite and buy that game it'll be free the next month.

I'm so happy we got Injustice instead of Knack personally. DC characters beating the crap out of each other>Crash Bandicoot without the stuff that made Crash Bandicoot great.

I'm not much of a fighting game fan, and when I am I usually prefer Tekken and Street Fighter only. I get that it is a better game, just not a game that interest me much.

I'm not that big into fighting games either but anything that lets me play as Captain Marvel/Shazam makes me happy

Re: Now Playing
I played through the first DLC tomb for Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. Pretty fun, but nothing mindblowing.

When I have a modern console I'll be more on it, I promise.
