Re: Now Playing
Oh man, is it sweet. Like, I wanted to start it back up as soon as I was done playing sweet. Feels like a Genesis Sonic game if you were destroying everything in your path. Does an astonishingly good job of making you feel overpowered while also providing a pretty steep challenge as well.
It also occurred to me that Gamefreak didn't really do elephants with Pokemon. There's Phanphy/Donphan, sure, but they feel more like a rhino/elephant hybrid. You don't get the size Other than that it's just Mamoswine who's lacking the trunk. I want something I can evolve into a giant elephant.

I think the only thing I'd consider a New 3DS for is Xenoblade because I heard it was good.
Also, I too join the camp of I would buy that game purely because elephant.

I would buy the game firstly based on the title, second would be the elephant.

Re: Now Playing
Developers are so focused on giving us prettier graphics, more realistic physics, and bigger worlds that they're forgetting what we really want: Elephants.

Re: Now Playing
I started up Call of Duty 4. Pretty indifferent towards it so far. It could definitely use some elephants.

Re: Now Playing
I'm through Act 1 of Modern Warfare and very underwhelmed. I'm not really a military shooter guy though, so maybe this just isn't for me. Not to mention I'm really late to the party. The encounters are so messy though. And they really just pour waves of enemies at you. I guess it is war, but at some point it just becomes annoying.
Re: Now Playing
I only played the campaign for a bit, the online play had me hooked. Still the best call of duty online game.

Re: Now Playing
I actually enjoyed Modern Warfare enough to play through the campaign to the end when my wife got it for me. I'm ordinarily not a big shooter guy.

I have to say I just played the All Ghillied Up mission and that was really fucking good. I wish all the missions were as well designed as that one.

My wife got me Final Fantasy Type-0 (PS4) and Codename: S.T.E.A.M. (3DS), so that's what I'm playing. I like both games so far.

Re: Now Playing
I've been playing Rare Replay on the Xbone. Been jumping from game to game just to try stuff out. Played a couple hours of Banjo Kazooie, which doesn't really hold up as well as I remember it. The platforming is pretty rough.
I also tried Viva Piñata for the first time and its pretty great. It's got a pretty high learning curve for the type of game it is. I really don't know what's going on half the time, but its fun to lure the pinatas to your farm.
That replay package is really a hell of a value for $30... even if 1/4 of the games you'd never want to play. It's still nice to have them all at the click of a button. Plus it showcases the xbone's backwards compatibility function before it's released.

Re: Now Playing
I beat Peace Walker yesterday, but I still might mess with some of the extra ops for now. Out of all Metal Gear games, it's the most addicting and hardest to put down.
Made it to the last boss in Dragon Quest III, and he's a bitch. I have a formula that I think I'll be able to use to bring him down. Hopefully it works because I don't want to level grind to beat him.
Also playing Shadow of Mordor, at times it get so hard with the amount of enemies it throws at you. I'm also not a big fan of the controls, it basically moves all of the common buttons for crouch and run to completely weird spots. I could probably fix them in the settings, but I usually only invert up and down in games. Another thing that happens is my guy will get stuck in things, and I won't be able to move. Happened 3 or 4 times in the last 24 hours. Still a fun game, just has a lot of flaws.

Re: Now Playing
How many people are playing Rocket League? If we can get enough for 3v3 we should do a game night since it has name & password private matches now.
Other than that I'm playing FEAR and Legend of Grimrock again. FEAR somehow has such unsatisfying automatic weapons but every other gun is amazing. LoG is simply excellent. The sequel is supposedly much better, too

Re: Now Playing
Congratulations to Rocket League for somehow being the first game where I feel like I'm missing out by not having a PS4 yet.
Just finished playing through Uncharted 3 on Hard mode.
For the rest of the summer I'll be playing Brothers, catching up on Game of Thrones, and maybe trying the newest SSX.

My wife just got me Bloodborne. Can't tell much difference between it and Demon's Souls, but I liked Demon's Souls so that's good.
Also still playing FF Type-0.

Mostly just playing The Witcher 3 still, but Gamefly is sending me Until Dawn. Looks to have a fun slasher vibe and a good cast. Hopefully it is fun.
Re: Now Playing
Shadow of Mordor for me. Want to beat it, and hopefully even platinum it before Metal Gear Solid comes out. Also, thinking about calling in for Metal Gear Solid for one day, seems like I owe Kojima that.

Re: Now Playing
Caught up on Life is Strange this weekend. Good game, characters are well written and the time bending mechanic works wonderfully both for story and gameplay.
Do think it acts way too much like everything revolves around these few people though. Like, graffiti in a diner pretty much matching the stuff you find in the school. Plus the school having the Vortex Club as an extracurricular whrn it's just a clique for the popular crowd and allowing them to serve booze at parties on school grounds? I just can't wrap my head around that.

I've been working for a billionaire the last few months (can't say much more than that) and I can say this - if you have enough money you can do almost anything.

Re: Now Playing
Heres the explaination ive gathered obvs spoilers dont open if you havent finished ep 4
- Spoiler:
- it makes sense if you look at who the chaperon was and how he used Nathan as his scapegoat. The vortex club was the perfect set up. All those kids were so fucked up they didnt remember shit and it was easy for him to pin everything on Nathan cause he's fucking hated by everyone

He's the guy guarding the door at those parties we saw in True Detective I think. What's the house password, Twolf?

Re: Now Playing
The thing with that spoiler though Kay is
- Spoiler:
- It explains why he in particular lets it roll, not why the principal, other staff or any nosy parents (of which there would surely be at a school like this). And as for Kubert, yeah, Nathan's DAD is rich, but Nathan wouldn't have that to bribe. It would only be if his dad bribed, but judging by those texts and letters you see while searching Nathan's stuff, I don't see him doing that.
