They only have to be board game nerds, the need to know the books is non-existent but obviously you get more out of the references the more you know.

Also increased my non game (and game, actually) related swag. Got GoT season 2 for $35, got the Coen Brothers Blu Ray Four Pack thing (Blood Simple, Fargo, Miller's Crossing and Raising Arizona) for $20, FFIV for DS as a gift for the ladyfriend (but I might steal it after and The Last of Us.

So yeah, good times!

Just out of curiosity would anyone in here be in favor of a debate we do every now and then. Idea being two or three people (as long as they all have a different opinion) post something written out each day for three days, then the rest can even decide who won it. The three day thing is so the first day they can post a few points on the game they're arguing for, the second against the one they're arguing against, and the third as a rebuttal against the other opinion. They would need to post these without reading the other person's for it to work, but think it could be fun for something like best Zelda or Final Fantasy.
Also if you like the idea of the thread but not how I'm structuring it, feel free to toss an alternative way.

Yeah. One thing we can do is maybe just pick a few people to judge who are the most unbiased on it. Like if it was Wind Waker vs Twilight Princess would be judged by the people who don't really hold one over the other like Kay and T-Wolf.

That could be fun. Someone would have to be deemed moderator for each discussion where they would take submissions and then post the three best opposing points and so on. Getting people to be impartial would be the trick.

It's probably too big, or too many frames or something. Upload it to a site like imgur, and link it from there. Just make sure its sized correctly cause offsite avatars dont get resized.

Anyways as long as its debating with people here that doesnt sound too bad since most of us have things like common sense. So it might be fun.

The conversation and diverse viewpoints is much more fun than trying to compete with smarty-pants like Greenie or T-wolf. In other words, I think this forum is more than enough of a level playing field. If not, I can always post pics of Greenie with a dildo and my little pony

I talk a lot but that's kind of my way of figuring out what I'm tryingt osay in the first place. If you ever look back on any of my grand debates I usually don't figure out my point until post 3 or 4.

I went to Dave and Buster's today for the first time. We threw my best friend a surprise birthday party there. It was pretty fun. They have a giant connect four. Fruit Ninja and Cut the Rope were both fun. A lot of ski ball and pop-a-shot basketball. All kinds of weird games. First time I ever played arcade Mario Kart... didn't much care for it to be honest. But it was neat to play it.

I'd love to join the debate thing, but as someone who likes WW and TP equally, how will that work out? I guess I can wait and see how you guys do that.

@Trip, never played the arcade MK but is it better than MK Wii? If there is one arcade game I want to try out is the F-Zero AX arcade game, one day I'll find a cabinet and play it.

Mario Kart Wii is definitely better. But other than the battle mode, rubber-banding and item issues I'm not sure what I don't like about MK Wii. I love the courses, the controls and in local play you can mess with a lot of options, so the issues with the singleplayer aren't a problem there. So I'm not really sure I'm the right person to ask. The way you powerslide and throw items in the arcade version seemed to leave a lot to be desired. Maybe I just didn't get the hang of it though. The couple of courses I played seemed weak, but they were early courses.
