Sorry to hear that choco, I definitely understand how you feel. I heard my last dog was put down while I was working and it still bugs me to this day =/. Hope the little guy starts feeling better. One of our bigger dogs had a seizure when he was 11 or so and hew as alright, took him a long time to get back up, think it just freaked him out but he got up and went on for another 3 years or so, which is great for a dog.

So try and stay positive if you can.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It was really upsetting seeing my dog in such bad shape and thinking he wasn't going to make it, he's like family to me. But he seemed to be feeling a lot better today so hopefully that continues. I'll stay as positive as I can but I know he can't be here with me forever Sad

I hope your dog is feeling better Choco! My cat is like a child to me, just today after constant bugging I finally let her drink what was left of my cereal milk. Oh pets, you have such cute faces.

My dog has a really bad digestive issue, so every few months he has these complete breakdowns where I swear we're within moments of him either passing on his own, or having to make the call to put him down. It's terrible, terrible, terrible - so I feel for you Choco, and I hope he improves and keeps on keepin' on.

Old dogs and their problems are no fun.

Yeah, Bannen, that's pretty much what we just went through. We were close to making a decision on putting him down but then he started getting better, so false alarm I guess. He's still been really clingy though, which is weird because he's usually an old grouch and likes to be left alone :/

Dogs. I know that's kind of a generic one, but I've never seen a platypus freak out because he's so happy to see me.

Cats i like cuddling with them. I'd probably like dogs too, but i've kind of had a phobia of them since i was attacked by one at a friend's house when i was little. I've been around plenty of nice ones though too when i had paper routes there were ones that would follow me around get excited to see me lol, but loud barking scares the shit out of me almost every time no matter from what kind of dog. Dogs like me but they tend to scare the shit out of me for no reason so its confusing. Cats are less confusing.

I'd like a Great Dane-sized Rhino for a pet, if I ever could get one. You know that's interesting... you know how we bred wolves and wildcats until we got the domestic dogs we have today; It makes me wonder if we could do the same with other animals until we domesticated them. I wonder what they'd all look like after years of domesticating...

i've gotten over it to an extent, but loud barking still gets to me. I can be playing with one, and then they see something out in the distance and bark at it and it makes me cower in fear. That's actually happened to me more than once.

That is totally understandable. It's funny I'm the opposite with my feelings to cats. Cats are like "come over here" and then they scratch the fuck out of you. Dogs, generally, give you signals as to what they're feeling before you approach. But as someone who grew up with big dogs i can understand why people get a bit freaked. I got freaked when I went with my friend to go feed her horses, they are big and intimidating but it's all perspective.

Also, favorite animal: wolves. Were my dad's favorite animal and I'm into them. They are fascinating animals, socially and in mythology/literature. Either greatly revered or ridiculously hated. Shame they might be extinct in my lifetime though ;_;.

Cats are cute but I've never met a friendly one yet. I can't imagine trying to cuddle with one. A cat-sized elephant sounds amazing though lol

My favorite would be foxes. No idea why but I've just always liked them.

@Chocobot - Your comment reminds me of my first cat, from my first apartment, who was VERY affectionate. She would constantly come up to me to give me head-butts and much like a dog, she would lick people that pet her. I had an L-shaped desk at the time, and she would often take naps between me and my computer monitor during the day. Her name was Sora. Yes, Kingdom Hearts inspired)

I'm not entirely sure what breed of cat she was, but one of my friends has a similar looking cat and it's just as affectionate as Sora was. Smile

My one cat would always follow me around and beg me to hold her. She'd crawl on top of me while i was sleeping sometimes. Other times she'd wake me up and demand I'd play with her. She also did this thing where she wouldnt eat unless I'd follow her over to her bowl. and when i was busy sometimes she's claw up my stuff to get my attention. Heh lost a lot of posters and books to that cat. She did pretty much hate everyone but me and my mother though lol, and she was afraid of literally everything sometimes when i was holding her shed freak and scratch me up pretty bad haha. Found her as stray kitten when i was 12. She immediately took to me the day i found her. I really miss her a lot she didn't live to be much older than 10 and it makes me sad. She was special.

Favorite pet animal would be a cat. I love cats. My cat can be a raging bitch at times, but i still love her. She loves you on her terms, and I think that that is funny.

Favorite animal besides the typical pet would either be a monkey, turtle, and I really like videos on tigers, lions, or wolves.

@kay - Very understandable about being scared of dogs since you were attacked. The thing about a mean cat is that you can kick the shit out of it if shit hits the fan, a dog can really fuck you up and that's terrifying to me as well. Also, dogs are so needy it comes off as annoying. I get a bunch of needy people where I work, I don't want to come home to someone constantly staring at me for affection. That probably sounds like a shitty reason, but it's how I feel.

@lenny - cute cat.

My first family cat that I can remember was awesome. I lost him ten years ago, but I still think about him all of the time. I grew up with him, so when he finally died when I was about 20 it was real shitty. He was an asshole, but also a lover. I had pet hamsters that had a family, and he single handedly wiped out the entire family. He'd always find a new way to kill them and he would piss me off. Then I'd look at him sleeping so peaceful and he'd make my heart melt. He killed maybe 10 of my other pets, but he was still my favorite. The little bastard would just leave their dead bodies there for me to find. What a dick, but I loved him.

My brother sent this to me. A dog and an elephant are friends. Thought it was somewhat relevant.
