Jak came in today so I'm starting that after I finish Ratchet. Should I play them in order for the best experience?
Yeah, they should be played in order since there's a story to follow.

I was reading that you didn't much like the first Ratchet game, but I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that they just get better as you go. I'd wait on Jak and play Going Commando. You should love it. Then you'll play Up Your Arsenal and your mind will be blown.
Also, just beat Final Fantasy VII again today. I love that game. Might be the first time ever beating it without Knights of the Round or Omnislash, except for maybe the very first time. Not positive on that though.

shouldn't we be able to buy the VR missions on their own since it's just a download code?

Replaying Knights of the Old Republic. Still on Taris. Love this game so much. Probably going to write something on it at Pixlbit Monday when it turns 10.

Re: Now Playing
Throughout the work week, most nights the only game I feel any energy for is Treasures of Montezuma Blitz on the Vita. Yeah, no shit. It's been a hard week. I've got the high score right now for this week so if I can only excel in one thing, it's this.
I'm still stuck on that 2nd hoverboard race in R&C. I know there's a way to do it (and I did it before so many years ago) but I just don't feel committed. It's hard to steer in sections with all that obstacle shit in the way. I booted up the game, remembered where I left off and my heart sunk.

Gotta use those shortcuts man

Re: Now Playing
I managed to beat it after 10 tries using those methods, except for shortcuts. I'd cut corners when I could reach speed boosts quicker and avoided that one stretch of explosive crates just by staying on the sidelines. I even used the missiles. After the 2nd lap, I was in first place and was able to hold the spot for the remainder of the race. I still hate that sequence but thanks for the pointers.
Playing through the game a second time, I actually want to find all the gold bolts and purchase the RYNO. Now that I'm about to reach the last stage, I'm going gold bolt hunting on the previous planets.

Speed strips for me too. It was a bitch getting the skill points for those levels.

And that high score on Treasures of Montezuma Blitz? Moved to 2nd place. Some goober friend with an insanely high rank doubled my score overnight.

Re: Now Playing
I'm so fucking regretting selling Dynasty Warriors 7 right now. Waiting for 8 is hard, and the only Musou game i have that I can really play is DW Next and Next just isnt doing it for me. The FPS regenerating health just doesnt work in DW AT ALL. It makes the game unbearably easy along with the base system that makes it basically impossible to lose the other way too. YOU DONT EVEN LOSE IF YOUR COMMANDER DIES! You dont have to even pay attention to your troops they just do whatever. GAH. The other Musou games i have either have are attached to some old and painful relationships or dated as hell. Waiting for 8 is torture.
Also playing FFIX made it to Conde Petie. RALLY HO!

You guys should all discuss your Final Fantasy IX adventures on the PS1 RPG thread. Final Fantasy IX is so charming.

Re: Now Playing
I'm playing FFIX on Vita too. Looks really nice there, but i did run into a glitch in Gizamaluke's Grotto where i couldn't open the menu (the Vita emulation isn't perfect). This was solved by exiting to the world map, saving and reloading. It's been smooth sailing since i got past disc one though.
Re: Now Playing
I've reached the level 30 cap in New Vegas and it sucks not leveling up for discovering new areas and gunning down bad guys. Strange, I thought I would have beaten the game long before I reached the level cap. I've read that the dlc raises the cap to 50, is that true? If so I might need to buy it at some point, too cheap to do that now.

I'm playing Parasite Eve on my Vita and I've noticed some glitches as well. It takes me forever to save (as in click the slot I want to save) or exit out of the screen after opening an item box. It's really annoying.

Re: Now Playing
Beat all the Phoenix Wright games. Loved them and they got progressively better as they went on. Few games are this satisfying or have characters that well written. There's some annoying parts, but it's worth it. The third rival lawyer especially was an awesome character. Gonna replay Miles Edgeworth now to pick up on all the references to these games. Not interested in Appollo Justice though, what I read on the characters don't do much for me and they're half the charm.

Re: Now Playing
Beat Bioshock: Infinite. The twist wasn't pulled off as well as the twist in the original, but it's also less annoying in concept. It was still executed pretty well, though. You can see that the story is pretty good once you get to the end, but until you beat the game the whole thing feels like it's cheating it's way out of actually telling a story. I'm glad it ended where it did instead of having you fight a giant naked glowing man.

Wait until you get to Up Your Arsenal, that game is practically a shooter. Also, it has probably the best villain ever in a video game. It's just going to get even better.

Re: Now Playing
With the announcement of the new Ratchet, I've been playing Tools of Destruction again. I also got the downloadable version of Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier so i could play it on the Vita. I wish you could completely remap the controls. I moved camera to the second stick, but there are some other weird quirks I would like to fix. The game has some neat little things I forgot about, but also some dumb things I forgot about. Fun to revisit still though.
Re: Now Playing
Replaying Miles Edgeworth and Kotor right now. Kotor was having issues running on my computer, but think I have them fixed now. The downside is any cutscene not using the game's engine had to be disabled. Ah well, I already saw the best one and know them all by heart so no big loss. Plus they're practically nonexistant.
Miles Edgeworth is a lot easier and the plots aren't as crazy as I remember, but I'm still digging it. Have two cases left, right now I think the order of the AA games would be T&T>ME=J4A>the original game. As much as I'm addicted to these games right now, still have no interest to try Apollo Justice.

Re: Now Playing
Not sure where to post this, but figured this thread gets a lot of views. My birthday is coming up and the girlfriend needs some ideas. I'm thinking I want to get an external hard drive for my PS3. Could I just use that to download games and play them when it is plugged into my PS3? That way I could finally start to take advantage of having Playstation Plus.

Re: Now Playing
External hard drives can't be used to store Ps3 games, unfortunately.
I started up Antichamber today. Neat game. It's basically your usual artsy exploration/puzzle game, except the point is to find your way through a world that's built to mess with you, though there are some more typical puzzles. Just forget everything you know about geometry and common sense

Damn. I don't feel like figuring out how to install a hard drive into my playstation. I now feel like kicking a baby. I really want to play Battlefield 4 but 12 GB is something I basically never have on my PS3.
