Re: Now Playing
I haven't been wanting to game much lately. There are only three games that I really want to play and that's Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, and Metal Gear Solid. I keep waiting for them to do that HD version of VII that was supposed to come out last spring, and I don't want to play IX because I keep hoping I get VII. Anyone else on here just want to play old games?
Sometimes I just love nostalgia too much.

Re: Now Playing
I got to play that wrestling game with some friends last night. I Rock Bottomed someone through the Spanish announce table. It was pretty awesome.
Re: Now Playing
I started up Puppeteer again. I played and liked the game when I first started, but for some reason that I cannot remember I stopped playing. I want to try and knock out at least 4 of the PS3 games that I bought but never played before Christmas.

Re: Now Playing
Started up Rise of the Tomb Raider. Having a lot of fun so far. Seems improved in most every aspect from the reboot. Also seems to be a bit more adventure slanted so far or perhaps I just haven't gotten to all the murder sections yet. Way better combat and encounter design too, so those sections are more fun as well. Will try and give some in-depth impressions when I have played more.

Does anyone else have Nidhogg? I'd love to do a tournament of that...

Fallout 4 is bringing back all those memories of why I loved 3 so much. Not sure on the changes to leveling yet, but other than that I'm loving this game.

I"m getting a new PC this year and that will probably be the inaugural game I buy.

If it keeps giving me the warm fuzzy feeling 3 did, I can't see anything else beating it for my GOTY.

Re: Now Playing
Been playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on the Xbox 360 recently. I've possibly put 10-11 hours in it now and I'm enjoying it. I agree with all of the points Trip mentioned. It's not even ridiculously gory (but still violent) like the previous game. Bigger areas to explore, resource gathering is well-implemented.
As for the 360 port? Obviously its a step down but I've had very little problems, save one game freeze. Controls are tight, the vistas/level designs and cut scenes are pretty good for last gen. All in all, a huge improvement over a game that I liked, warts and all.

Picked up Downwell on PC. It's an awesome, tough little arcade game where you fall down a hole and shoot bullets from your feet. Great for people who like to chase combos and high-scores. Only $3 and it's also on iOS.

Re: Now Playing
I best Puppeteer last night and I think I'm going to start the PlayStation Move game Sorcery. I want to beat 4 PS3 games that I bought but never beat before Christmas. Started this a year or two ago and actually found it enjoyable, but got stuck on a boss where I had no idea what I was supposed to do so I quit. Look forward to knocking this out of my way in the next week.

Re: Now Playing
Man I really never used my Move much. It was worth having just for Bocce Ball on Sports Champions. That was a blast with friends.
Re: Now Playing
Sports Champions 2 was even better than the first. I actually enjoyed almost all of the games on both of those games (sports champions). I think I liked Disc Golf the most. Bowling on SC2 is awesome. I need to play that some more. Sorcery isn't a bad game. The game is a little frustrating for me because I'm left handed, but other than some problems with the controls it's a pretty fun game.

Currently dividing my time between Fallout 4 and Tales of Zestiria. With this two games plus more RPGs coming down the line, I'm a pretty happy camper right now.

Re: Now Playing
About 2/3 through Sorcery. Good Move game, but it doesn't make me wish Sony spent more resources on move games. After I beat Sorcery I'll be moving onto another PS3 game I owned but never played/beat. Like I stated somewhere on this forum, I want to beat 4 of them before Christmas. Almost halfway there. Games I can think of that I have are Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and 3 (probably won't attempt these though, they take too long), Darksiders, Toy Story 3. Plus, any of the PS+ games for the PS3 that we accumulated over the last 3 years. Spec Ops The Line is one of them. I recall a lot of people on here liked that. How good is it and how long does it take to beat?
I have recently been playing Destiny with my cousin, and I really really really enjoy that game. Never thought I'd love that game since Borderlands was a chore to me, and I'm not in love with sic-fi games. Seems like everyone here hated it and was super excited for it when it released, and I could care less about it when it launched and I now love it. Weird world we live in.

Re: Now Playing
I'm not sure how much you'd like Spec Ops Bret. You really have to only want it for the story and even then it's only if you want a story on the horrors of war.

Re: Now Playing
I respect your commitment to doing some damage on your backlog Bret. I personally found Spec Ops pretty boring. I never even finished it. HowLongtoBeat.com (a good resource when wondering how long a game is) says it is only about 6 hours for the main story. So it seems shorter than the games you listed probably are. I guess it has that going for it.
Re: Now Playing
I did start up the game a year or two ago and finished the first mission and I really hated the controls. I do however like a good story in games. There has to be more games down there that I own that I haven't beat, the problem is do I want to play them. I bought Dead Island for $8 around 3 or 4 years ago and it is still sealed, but I'm not even sure why I bought it.
Trip, I'm pretty sure you played this, but I got that Playstation Move Heroes. I knew it got shit reviews when I bought it, but I'm sure I only bought it for the trophies. Is it moderately fun?

I jumped back into Xenoblade Chronicles 3D. The environmental design in this game is so good. I'll probably be asking for Xenoblade X this christmas for that reason alone

Just went down and looked and I saw Zone of Enders 2. That might be the one that I play next.

Xenoblade was probably my favorite console JRPG of last gen. Great characters and exploration especially. How do you like the combat Aja?

Re: Now Playing
The combat doesn't waste any time so it's fine by me. I feel like I don't really understand a lot of it though. Particularly the art you use to defend against strong attacks. It never works for me. I'm not a big fan of how this game teaches you stuff

Yeah it does a bad job of explaining but I loved how they made each character feel distinct to the point where certain ones are useless against some enemies.

Re: Now Playing
Anyone ever play a game called 3D Dot Heroes? It was a game by Atlus that was like a knockoff of old school Zelda where you made your own avatar. I've owned that game forever, but never played it. Probably won't be one of the ones I attempt, but I do look forward to playing it.

Yup. It's a fun game but hard as hell. I kind of wish From would revisit it. They could make it a bit more fair like they did with Demon's Souls/Dark Souls

Re: Now Playing
Finished finding everything in Rise of the Tomb Raider story/campaign mode. Still going to chip away at these other achievements though. Really love this game.
Also started up Gears of War Judgment. And hoping to finally get around to finishing the Game of Thrones game. I'm somewhere in Episode 5.

Re: Now Playing
I think I'd like to get Game of Thrones someday when it's on sale. The Walking Dead game by them is way better than the show, so if this one is at least 25% as good as the show it should be fun.

Re: Now Playing
I don't think much of the Game of Thrones game to be honest. Admittedly these Telltale games aren't really my thing, but even what I played of TWD was much better. Their engine is terrible too and it seems like they put so little effort into the presentation of GoT.
Re: Now Playing
Beat Sorcery today and got the platinum as well. Really fun Playstation Move game. Actually had some interesting characters and told a good story as well that kept my attention. 2 of 4 PS3 games down, now I just have to think of 2 more to beat before Christmas.
Potentials...
Darksiders
Kingdom Hearts HD remake
Harry Potter Storybook for Playstation Move
Toy Story 3
Also started up Grand Theft Auto Vice City again, because it just seemed like the right thing to do. I'm thinking in our basement I'm going to clean up a corner and put my old tube TV down there to play that and Metal Gear Solid again. They just look better on those televisions.
