Re: Now Playing
You know Ocarina of Time is a good game and all but it does do that thing that REALLY annoys me in games/movies where they're like "DO THIS THING..." then you do that thing and "IT TURNS OUT THAT THING YOU DID WAS USELESS AND JUST SERVED TO FILL TIME!". Just...so unsatisfying. I mean, you can use that in a way that doesnt' feel so cheap but you go to heal the Deku tree and he's like "Good job...BUT YOU FAILED" and dies! SO WHAT DID I ACCOMPLISH?! Could have just...died and saved me some time.

Re: Now Playing
I take it you found that for the 3DS? I've looked hard for it, and I can't find it anywhere. Best Buy has a used copy for $25, but I don't think I'm getting the original case and book so that kind of bothers me.

Re: Now Playing
Based on his last post, I assume Twolf downloaded OoT off the eshop.
Still addicted to Resogun, but I have the new Kirby for Wii U coming from Gamefly. Excited to try that one.

Re: Now Playing
His last post I definitely didn't see. Makes sense now. Kind of weird how the best games for Nintendo systems are their own and they stop making them. Goofy turds.

Yeah, I would have preferred the physical copy myself but there's just no way to get it. I think "Goofy turds" sums it up quite accurately really.

Re: Now Playing
Maybe I should just start collecting copies and exporting them. I've seen at least 4 in the last week or so without even looking
Nintendo region locking, though. Argh

Does the eShop ever have good sales? Would I benefit waiting for a sale on a game like this or do they typically just put crappers on sale?

Re: Now Playing
They have sales, but not as frequent as the other shops. Though they are getting better. They're always for a reason though, not just to have a sale. Like when Smash Bros came they had weekly sales, each focusing on a few different characters' games.
I'd recommend going to Club Nintendo first before you buy anything and see if it's there. Then find all your DS/3DS/Wii games and register them along with the system, should be able to get something good.

Re: Now Playing
After playing a bit of the Bayonetta games I got a craving for Platinum games. Didn't wanna buy MGR for $30 so I downloaded God Hand from PSN.
It's so incredibly satisfying. Sure it's clunky, ugly, and generally makes no sense, but none of that matters when you kick a dude across the room then take a huge hammer and wail on him with it until it breaks. I was laughing pretty much the whole time playing it. I'm still laughing right now. And it mostly feels pretty fair in it's difficulty, which is great.

Beat Grow Home. Short, but oh so sweet. Definitely see myself replaying it at some point. Highly recommended, even if you don't play games on PC much.

Re: Now Playing
Sam's club had Disney Infinity 2.0 for 40 dollars so i jumped on it. This game basically lets you create your own open world based on Disney worlds and shit and its really cool. Too bad them figures are pricey but i will say they are a lot better quality than Amiibo.
Re: Now Playing
Started up Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. The claymation look is amazing. The gameplay pretty blah so far. Hopefully it will grow on me.
Re: Now Playing
Hope that isn't a sign they dumbed down the level design. I loved Canvas Curse because they put so much creativity and difficulty into it.

Re: Now Playing
Never played CC so it is just as likely that I'm either not used to the drawing or it isn't for me.
Re: Now Playing
Im really liking all the options in Disney Infinity you can create your own open world give it a currency and item shops and stuff, missions platforming. It's like Little Big Planet but more of an open world sandbox type thing. this could be a huge timesink in a good way. Gonna try and create my own worlds.
Also been playing a lot of REvalations 2 and for the 6 dollars it costs to buy episode one you get 18 raid mode stages each with 3 difficulties, and its really fun worth it just for raid mode

Re: Now Playing
Beat Metroid Prime for the second time. I wanted something like Dark Souls without being too similar so I wouldn't get burnt out by Bloodborne and this fit the bill perfectly.
I forgot how great this game was. Everything is just so smartly designed around what powers you get and when you get them. Exploring this world is just a blast and the music is so awesome. Might even put it ahead of Zero Mission for my favorite in the series, which is one of my all time favorite games.

I've had Shadow of Mordor since Christmas but haven't started it because i hate having too many games going at once. I've been getting the itch to play it and I might cave before beating GTAV.

Re: Now Playing
I started it up and it is pretty cool. It definitely does Batman combat better than any other game that tried to ape that style that I can recall. I have not played enough to have much more impressions than that.
Re: Now Playing
Started up Pokemon X. Despite the menus hurting my brain at times, I'm enjoying it so far. It's been a really long time since I've played one of these games so it's fun to be back. I'll have to see how much I'm enjoying training multiple pokemon down the road though

Tried the Codename STEAM demo. Despite not liking strategy games much, I really enjoyed it. Might take that gift card I put towards MGSV and put it to that instead since that's not coming until September now. By then I'll either have a job or be in the army.

Re: Now Playing
Liking Shadow of Mordor more now that I made it to the second area. The first is like one of the most boring maps for an open-world title I can recall. Combat and stealth are great. Some of the missions are pretty lackluster, but the combat makes it fun usually. I really like the challenges for each weapon they have. Those are probably my favorite missions.

Really reminds me of Valkyria Chronicles. It's become my most-wanted game of the year that doesn't have words like "Zelda" or "Final Fantasy" in its name.

Re: Now Playing
I've played maybe about half of Kirby. I think it is a neat idea. The controls work fine even if I'm not great with them. But I just don't love the core gameplay here. I think I also kind of wish they'd have used these graphics in a traditional Kirby game since I love them so much. Not only is it basically a handheld game because of the input method, but my hand is often in the way of the screen because of it too. Really can't appreciate the beauty of the claymation graphics which are amazing. I will definitely finish it, but I think the game is only alright so far.
Re: Now Playing
Bought Helldivers (PSN). Kinda corny and definitely rips off a lot of ideas from Starship Troopers but it's a fun twin-stick shooter. Not a lot of mission variety from the outset but I'm told that changes. What really makes this game is multiplayer sessions, where teamwork can result in mission success. Now my only problem is that I've hit a point where I need teammates. I've set my privacy settings to public (so anyone can join) and I've tried to join other matches but nothing's successful; either they're closed off to the public or the matchmaking is off.
Still, a lot of fun. The friendly fire should make for some good bitching.

I have a $20 credit on my PSN account. Maybe I'll pick it up and we can play together. Although my gaming time lately has been scarce!
I did pick up Theatrythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call for $10 the other day. Played it a bit last night and its just as good as the first game... but its a complete collection of songs. The random song feature is great and there is a quest mode that seems pretty interesting.

Re: Now Playing
Lost patience with the games I was playing so I switched over to something a bit out of my wheelhouse: Legend Of Grimrock. It's an old-school style dungeon crawler on PC. Took me a little while to learn how to play but I'm really enjoying it. Never played much of anything like this to compare it to but I guess it's kind of like the Etrian Odyssey games with the two rows of attackers and (optional) manual mapping, except combat is real-time and it has the classic dungeon feel. Dark cobblestone hallways, secret doors and riddles, deathtraps. That kind of stuff. So far all of the environments are pretty much the same visually but it's kept it interesting. It's really great because I can play for as long or short a time as I like and still get something out of it.

Is there any reason to still play the first Theatrhythm or am I better going straight to the second?

I feel Elite Beat Agents really spoiled me because I tried the demo for Theatrhythm and felt it was a little boring. Maybe I should give it another go.
