Re: Chat Thread
I miss having money. But I have an interview with LA Sheriffs meaning I passed my background check. If I just get through the polygraph, think I'm in and pretty much set for life.

Congrats! Hope you get it. Get some money in those pockets!
Remember what George Costanza said about lying under polygraphs: "It isn't a lie if you believe it."

Okay I thought your issue was with me and I told you I made a mistake. I apologized. And that my big mistake was stepping in at all publicly. So doubling down didn't seem to be the way to go. I thought you understood that. Anyway, I will head to the bullshit thread and clarify.

Lindsay bought me an iPad Air 2 out of the blue. I guess it could be considered a Christmas present but I got it today when she came home from work! What a nice surprise! Thinking of downloading Oceanhorn and maybe Dragon Quest VIII. Anyone play those two games? I've heard Oceanhorn is like Zelda and the music is by Uematsu.

I have an iPad Mini 2 I got for Christmas last year. I use my iPad as a replacement for most of the stuff I used to use my laptop for plus Netflix and Amazon Instant video. For video and web-surfing, I love it. For gaming... not so much, and the lack of physical controls kills tablet/cell phone gaming for me. I have a few of the older Dragon Quest games that are nearly impossible to find in any format anymore, as well as Lunar: Silver Star Story Touch, and that's it.
I've heard the mobile version of Dragon Quest VIII kind of sucks, though, especially if you're comparing it to the incredible PS2 version. No voice-acting, heavy slowdown, and for some reason, Square Enix keeps the mobile DQ games in permanent portrait mode, which is off-putting for me.

Re: Chat Thread
i bought it and it LOOKS REALLY GOOD, but the control scheme really irks me hard to get used to
Re: Chat Thread
I read about all the down grades, the one that turns me off the most is voice acting. The voices were all so good in that game. I'm so torn. I know I'd love it despite the flaws. Why can't they just do a PS3 had remake?

Re: Chat Thread
Today was hell i was the only person on the sales floor for grocery after 4pm and they forced me up front to get yelled at by angry customers in line. One lady wanted to talk to a manager about how there was no excuse how she had to wait in line so long. I pretended to call a manager and sent a request for a CSM. Another guy got livid cause i didnt know what a soft pack was. I dont smoke fucker just tell me what it looks like. When i finally get back to grocery theres like 5 returns carts and im there for an hour and a half. Needless to say that didnt get finished.
It was bad yesterday, but the assistant manager who oversees my side of the store is really cute, and she randomly came up say hi and check on me a few times, and later when she left she came by my register just to say goodnight ;~;
I think she likes me, and its against store policy, but uhh.... yeah

Thanks guys. I'm a bit apprehensive about the whole thing. I like visiting the East Coast, but I've lived out West for my entire life and am hoping it won't be too much of a culture shock.

Went on a ride along for LA Sheriffs. First time the guy I rode with actually gave me a good description of what to expect on the job, the good, bad and ugly. Feel more excited than ever to get in though, hopefully I join the academy soon.

Are you wanting to work for the county or the city? When I was in college in Oklahoma, the LAPD had recruiting posters all over the place for criminal justice majors offering them fat sign-on bonuses and assistance with relocation to the Los Angeles area. That was quite a long time ago, though.
My wife was a reserve deputy for Oklahoma County, as well as a nurse for the Oklahoma County Jail. She was a first responder at the Oklahoma City bombing and was in the jail the night they brought Terry Nichols in.
