Personally I try and gather spiders in a cup or on a paper plate or something and release them outside if I see them in my home. I feel bad killing them...
Re: Chat Thread
I was much happier before I knew those hornets existed. Thanks, guys

I feel bad for letting spiders live. God should feel like shit for creating them.

Nah, spiders do a good job of killing the real shit insects. Flies are where evolution went south.

I get that they kill bugs, but I still hate them. Mosquitos suck some big ass too.

I do the same, sometimes. But my mindset is that I don't kill spiders outside when they're in "their" environment, but when they're inside my house I have free range.TripOpt55 wrote:Personally I try and gather spiders in a cup or on a paper plate or something and release them outside if I see them in my home. Re: Chat Thread
Spiders are only cool when they're not in your house. Otherwise, they suck. The only bugs allowed in my house are dragonflies. Everything else deserves to die

I don't want ants in my house...but I find them stupidly fascinating. Only bug I'd say truly interests me.

Ants are fascinating. On a documentary I learned that armies will study their formations and shit like that. Thought that was really cool.

Re: Chat Thread
Really? that's pretty cool. I suppose a lot of science has come from studying animals and how they work, like those dolphin fin things that divers use.
Have you looked into army ants, how they'll coordinate to form body bridges and stuff? It's pretty wild.

I've been trying to decide between getting either Pokemon X or Wind Waker HD since they both come out so soon but it looks like I'll have to hold off on both. Today my hair straightener broke and having bad hair is not an option for me so there goes all of my extra money. Life is cruel ;_;

Choco, did having bad hair ever stop Link from being awesome? Nope. You know the choice to make.

I guess I can wear a silly green hat like Link and make it work. Good hair or video games.. It's such a tough choice for me D:

hair straighteners are expensive as shit...always shocks me. What's your hair like normally? Surely it's not that bad!

Re: Chat Thread
Girlfriend randomly managed to get an AD (Assistant Directing) job up in Nagoya in November and may have managed to snag me an assistant camera in the process. They're using Arri which I haven't worked with before, but I'd be 2nd assistant or something like that so just log sheets and clapper and whatnot, but exciting none the less. Not confirmed, but hopefully it comes through! Would be good fun, plus a paid trip to Nagoya!

Yeah, they really are expensive if you want a nice one that won't burn and ruin your hair. Without one my hair isn't that bad, it just looks messy rather than all perfect and smooth and shiny... I miss my straightenerKrubixcube wrote:hair straighteners are expensive as shit...always shocks me. What's your hair like normally? Surely it's not that bad!
Oh and I hope that job in Nagoya comes through for you, Twolf. Good luck!

What ever happened to that Captain N character? Is it just me or did he disappear?

Re: Chat Thread
I think it makes you pretty badass. What a douche though, arguing over something that I cannot fucking understand why people insist on doing it. *sigh* Oh well, good job for trying though. Did you stop him from driving home? Do you have a shiner to go along with your tale of badassery at least?pspiddy wrote:Anybody ever been punched in the face?
I'm asking because I was after a lengthy conversation about not wanting someone to drive after drinking. Not cool. But what I said wasn't cool either; "Ya feel better now"?
That retort makes me an assclown or a badass. Not sure.
Also, I have been punched, but the only time I've been punched in the face was in the ring by boxers...so not quite the same. Every other time it's been some flail that ends up hitting on the body somewhere. So I haven't experienced that one yet, hopefully wont anytime soon but I have a feeling my smartassery will land me a punch to the face someday...

I would actually enjoy that. Minus the punching in the face part, but I think given our relationship it would kind of be a weird let down if you didn't in a way...

Re: Chat Thread
Completely random thought I had today but I want to be able to tell someone. Thought of a cool groomsmen gift for people that will be in my wedding. Since a lot of my friends play games or at least know how much I like games/trophies I decided I'd get them all their very own Playstation Trophy. Figured I'd engrave the trophy with a caption that has to do with them, and present the trophy to them with a certificate describing the trophy. Maybe I'll even have the ding noise for each time I give it to someone, and take a picture of the groomsmen holding the trophy. An example...
Textbook (what will be engraved on the trophy)
"A student of the game, a coach's dream player."
(on the certificate)
This would be one I give to my friend Dan that I call textbook on the soccer field, because he plays the game very cautious but always makes the right move.
Needless to say, I am really pumped for this. All but 2 of the people in my wedding play video games and like trophies so I think this will be a fun gag gift to give.

Re: Chat Thread
Been away for a while, but am slowly trying to catch up (if I can!) My "gaming" laptop's monitor went berserk on me this week and now it only works when I plug it into a separate monitor (i.e., my tv) so I decided to buy a new laptop. I saw a really great deal on a Samsung Chromebook on Amazon and jumped on it since it was only $250 (locally, and on Amazon). Now, I'm kind of regretting it, and think that I should splurge and buy myself a gaming desktop... I'm seriously torn at the moment. :\ I have the money... but I kind of don't feel like I should spend it all at once. BLARGH!!!
