Re: Chat Thread
I agree, talking on the phone is the worst.

Re: Chat Thread
Why all the hate for phone calls, you two? I mean, they have their purpose.
I like this ranking idea. I would say for every day things/chit chat:
In Person>texting>facebook>LINE>Calling>Twitter
And I only put calling so low because it costs an arm and a leg here.
For actual shit that needs to get done though:
In Person>Calling>Facebook>Line>Texting
I HATE when people try to problem solve over texting or set up something last minute over texting. JUST GET ON THE PHONE AND GET IT DONE IN A FRACTION OF THE TIME IT TAKES YOUR FAT THUMBS TO TYPE.
The fat thumbs comment may be me projecting somewhat...

Re: Chat Thread
Twitter is also good for organizing our weekly pool for what Twolf will say on here. Whenever a new thread is made, we all place our bets and see where the chips fall. If Twolf didn't have such an aversion to Twitter that simply wouldn't be possible.
Re: Chat Thread
Don't show me the pool, it would spoil the fun. =D
I hope you guys don't see my grumpiness as...actual grumpiness. I'm quite a happy person, actually haha.

Re: Chat Thread
My main issue with calling is just that I hate answering the phone. Nothing is more annoying than sitting down to do something only to have someone phone right away. And it's nearly always some machine or telemarketer. I don't have caller ID on my cell so I never even answer unless i'm expecting a call

Re: Chat Thread
That is fair enough. I usually always let calls from numbers I don't know go to voice mail. And VOICE mail...even after all these years is still archaic and crap.
Do your guys' voice mails do that annoying "New Message....from.... .... ...Monday... ... ...10... ... ...30... ... ... ....
...
...AM.
JUST PLAY THE DAMN MESSAGE

I hate talking on the phone when people call just to talk. I'm sorry you're bored, but why drag me down too?

Re: Chat Thread
If I am going to chat with someone on the phone just to catch up or something I will usually make plans to do so as stupid as that sounds. Just randomly calling someone to chat does feel a little intrusive at this point. We all live busy lives... probably.
Re: Chat Thread
I don't like using the phone myself, I know it's useful and it has it's uses but nope, not me. I had a cell phone 3 years ago and got rid of it because I didn't need it.
Plus I have no one that needs to call me. The other day I was playing some Mario Kart Wii with Pixlbit and the phone rang and you can't pause that game when you're online, I was playing with one hand while talking on the phone. I told my brother to take over.

Agree with this statement.
I don't actually know many people who call "just to talk".
Maybe I'm just not popular >_>

I used to call my old friends just to talk about stuff, and they called me too, but that was when I was a kid in elementary. Now I just hate using the phone.

Re: Chat Thread
I liked the phone when I was younger, but I pretty much despise it now. I almost kinda wish cell phones weren't invented so I wouldn't get phone calls unless I was home.
I think the fact that I take a lot of calls at work also kinda broke phone calls for me.

Re: Chat Thread
That sucks man. I hate that people can judge you based off of stupid bullshit. I mean, you get it here too. Japan is 97% japanese and of that remaining 3% maybe...15% of that is white guys so we're...rare to say the least. And yeah, you just get stared at, people talking about you, and worst of all just making assumptions and it definitely gets old.
But at least the Japanese have a cultural/language excuse to make. I suppose Americans have long been in the business of hating their own though.

I would NEVER be presumptuous ever compare my experience to what minorities go through in America, it's a very different flavor of racism. But that said, it certainly helps one sympathize with that mindset.
If that makes any sense.

We have a bakery shop ran by some kind of Asian group where I live. Every time I have to work at 7 AM (which is the worst fucking shift known to man) I drive past that donut shop and see a bunch of old fucks in there eating donuts and drinking coffee. Go home you old fucks and sleep like I wish I was!

Re: Chat Thread
I was at a barber shop one time wearing a Yankee jacket and an old guy started talking about the team. It was pretty good until he started complaining about all the "Non white" members on the team now.
I was honestly so shocked that I didn't think of anything clever. I just started spouting off on why they were some of the best players. I mean Mariano Rivera was the best closer in the game, stuff like that. In hindsight, I should have probably just not engaged him. Of course after I left the shop I thought of a million brilliant things I could have said.
I hate that. It's like when I really should step up I kinda shut down, then almost immediately afterword I realize what I actually should have done.
Another time some nurse started talking down to my wife while we were in the waiting room in the hospital. Normally I would have just naturally called her on it, but I didn't even get angry until we were in the friggin car leaving. I don't even think I realized it happened until I thought about how weird it was. Then I got mad, but by then there was nothing I could do about it.
It's like all the times I should stop and think about something, I react instantly, but all the times I should react quickly, I don't realize it until later.
This probably would have been a good fit for the BS thread too honestly.

This relates to you Ham more than you know! When I was reading your comment about the nurse and the Yankee prick this is the only thing I could think of.

Kill Bill is awesome so I approve of the shirt, not really sure what it is being referenced with though. Nice design.

Re: Chat Thread
The anime is called Kill la Kill. It shares some similarities with Kill Bill in terms of style and story. The main character is out to avenge the death of her father, and fights through a bunch of people to figure out what happened.
Re: Chat Thread
Kill la Kill is brilliant. There wasn't a single week while it was airing that I wasn't 200% hyped for it. Hoping they release a Satsuki figure with her standing like she does atop the academy, it'd be perfect.
Also I've caught some bug and feel like death. Help me.

Re: Chat Thread
I think I watched about 10 episodes of Kill la Kill, I really need to get back to it.

Re: Chat Thread
I kept trying to get into Kill la Kill and really just couldn't. I think my anime is broken...
Re: Chat Thread
I'm like that with anime myself a lot these days. When something does grip me it grips me but it's few and far between these days. Maybe I'm just watching the wrong stuff.
Also, welcome back chocobot, long time no see.
