Re: Feedback, Suggestions and Help
I've seen other forums do a yearly music contest. So each person who enters picks 4 songs that they like (that they've been listening to a lot that year) and then make a bracket out of it. Then every day there's a vote for all the matchups until there is only 1.
It was pretty fun. Can we do polls on these forums?
EDIT: We can! I remember the rules at this other forum were you could only choose one song per genre and no songs over 10 minutes. Also, they did 8 choices per user who signed up but it takes about a month to finish it. That said, it's an awesome way to share music. I'd be way up for it.
Also, if you guys are up for this I'm about to have about a month of free time on my hands so I can help set up a lot of this.

Cool man. If you need anything from my side, please let me know. I'll let you run with that one though.
Re: Feedback, Suggestions and Help
I might need help making the bracket since I"m shit at that stuff. Also, I may need a constant stream of stickying and unstickying threads as soon as voting starts. You can't make temporary sub forums can ya? Because this is gonna get messy >_>

Yeah I think I could make a temporary subforum and then just move it all back to General afterwards. Will keep the General section from being overcome by this thing. Let me take a look. I won't be using your name in the Subforum though... haha.

Will what I just did work for you? I can call it contest, but it doesn't feel like a contest per se, no?
Re: Feedback, Suggestions and Help
If anyone has a Top Five idea and wants to post it today, go for it. I am just not with it today.

Re: Feedback, Suggestions and Help
I'm not sure how to put this but what about like top 5 games in genres you don't usually like or aren't familiar with. Does that make sense?
Re: Feedback, Suggestions and Help
That makes sense to me. Like you putting Alice even though you don't like platformers that much (which btw makes you a terrible person).

Go for it. Maybe call it Top 5 Games Outside Your Comfort Zone

pspiddy wrote:Top 5 sidekicks. I'd do the thread, since it would be fun, but I don't have a pretty blue-clicky on my name. (Nor do I need it since I'd spam T-wolf, Green, and Trip with "banned" notices")
...What does it mean?

Re: Feedback, Suggestions and Help
Sorry I'm still having trouble navigating this site. What is the easiest way to find out what threads someone has replied to and how to get to the unread posts?

Re: Feedback, Suggestions and Help
Well the little page icon to the left of thread titles names (not the big round one, but the little rectangle) brings you to unread posts. Though I've had it skip some on me. I'm not sure if that is just a weird bug or what.
Otherwise I usually just go into both Games and General and see which threads have new posts (red icon to the far left). Maybe some others here have better tips.
I know some here want more sub-forums, but one reason I have been hesitant to do so is because it feels like it'd just require more clicks to get to places. It'd be more organized though. Anybody have any general thoughts on this?

Re: Feedback, Suggestions and Help
There's the actions menu in the top right as well that has an option to go to the newest post since you last checked the thread...don't know how well it works though.
Also Trip...you know I love subforums. You could still make them really general though.

Re: Feedback, Suggestions and Help
There is a view posts since last visit right above the forum categories on the main menu (to the left side) that will bring up all the threads that have had posts since you last showed to which I guess is a little easier than hopping in each category. I usually just hop into each because I might want to bump a non posted in recently thread I guess. (Edit: which is also in the actions menu like Twolf mentioned).
Re: Feedback, Suggestions and Help
After answering Top 5 Games Out of Your Comfort Zone I came up with a cool Top 5 (at least I think it is), and that's Top 5 Gifted Video Present Treasures. Could be games, systems, video game figure toys, controllers, soundtracks, etc.... Just a thought.

Sounds fun and we have not done it before. We can do that next. Probably some good stories involved there.

Re: Feedback, Suggestions and Help
Sorry this is such a mess right now. I know there is a more elegant way to have the forums appear. I will work on that soon. Just needed to make another subforum for right now to keep the threads from piling up too much in the Music Bracket one.
Edit: Yeah there is definitely some stuff I need to move around which will make it look better on the front end. Which I will do maybe this coming weekend. For now I'll just leave it as is. Don't quite have the time.
