Anyway, what's making you jump on the Wii U, Trip? I liked what you said about how all of the platforms are viable, I'm just curious why you're going Wii U instead of Xbone. (to be completely transparent, I wouldn't have a Wii U if it weren't for my wife. I'd probably go Xbone. Personal preference and such)

I've been using my Wii U more this year than my PS4. I'm sure that will change over time as games I really want start hitting the PS4, but I'm happy with the Wii U myself. I think Trip will enjoy it.

Well other than Sunset Overdrive and Ori and the Blind Forest which aren't even out yet, there really isn't anything soon or out on the Xbox One I personally feel excited for that I can't get on the PS4. I still hope to get one late next year maybe when there is a little more out/coming.

On Wii U I'm dying to play Mario Kart 8. My friends still come over a couple of times a month for multiplayer and Mario Kart is our favorite. And then Mario 3D World and NSMBU and Donkey Kong. New games coming this Fall like Captain Toad and Hyrule Warriors. And then next year (not sure on the release schedule) like Yoshi and Zelda and Mario Maker. It is cheaper too which doesn't hurt. Hope the Xbone will be lower by the time I get one.

Again, I think they will all be good, but since I have third-party stuff covered on my PS4 for the most part, I think the Wii U makes more sense for me.

I'm holding off on Xbone because I want to see how the whole STEAMbox thing plays out. If I can drop 5 or so bills on one of those and it's compatible with Xbone controllers, I can see skipping the Xbone altogether.

And what I said about the Wii U and how I only have it because of the wife, I mean that I only have it NOW for that reason. I don't know how the rest of you game addicts work but I always plan on buying every single damn platform.

I'd love to have a Wii U and a 3DS, but I don't know how I'd ever find time to play the games on both of those systems when I have a hard enough time playing the games for the PS3/4 and Vita. Nintendo systems are worth owning for their games alone.

Damn, the big shitstorm involving Kotaku, Zoe Quinn, and Phil Fish just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I mostly thought that, aside from some game reviews being questioned because of the circumstances they might have been written under, that it was mostly just petty gossip, but now there's been serious hacking involved.

From what I've gathered, all of these people are just awful human beings, assuming it's all true. Phil Fish is awful regardless. It's still no reason to go after any of them personally, though.

So, could people maybe just try not being shit? But indie and female developers could literally be Hitler and still be furiously defended by the so hip gaming community, so they have no reason not to be shit. And it's not like internet trolls have anything to lose, either

The link worked earlier, but the gist of it was Fish wanting to sell Polytron in a terrific blaze of Tweeted rage after Polytron was doxxed. And fingers are being pointed at every Internet boogey-man imaginable.

Mostly, I'm just amazed at how rapidly this has blown up from gossip over peoples' sex lives to allegations of journalistic dishonesty to the complete Twitter meltdown that's taking place on all fronts of this little controversy. More and more mid-tier industry people are stepping into this morass. All brought to you by Twitter, which seems more and more to be a forum where celebrities and quasi-celebrities can publicly stick their feet in their mouths and the rest of the Twitterverse can foam at the mouth on either the pro or con side. Seriously, though this is getting to be video gaming's equivalent of the Biggie and Tupac brouhaha of the 1990s.

If this doxxing happened, I agree. Fish is a thoroughly unpleasant person, but I don't agree with posting people's personal and financial information in public, especially the employees of Polytron who were probably not involved in this mess.

None of this surprises me. I've seen so many bad jokes about Zoe Quinn and Five Guys it literally makes me want to punch people who keep telling them, and then theres the other side who act like she did nothing wrong and like saying she did is harassment. Both sides of this thing are thoroughly disgusting. I like to mostly remain quiet on this cause i seriously hate mostly everyone involved in it

I just read a few articles to figure out what the hell you guys are talking about. I still don't get it. Is there a point to it or anything? All my brain is taking away is that everyone involved has terrible social skills. Or maybe this is an ad campaign dreamed up by a summer intern fresh out of high school?

All this has showed me is how vile each side of the argument is. Some random girl's sex life is none of our business. Maybe she's an awful, manipulative human being... makes no difference to me. I'm still glad Depression Quest exists. I guess there's some questions about conflicts of interest to be raised, but that's the only way this relates to me at all and it's up to the journalists to avoid that mess.

Now, when the indie crowd blindly rallies behind someone in their wannabe mini-illuminati clique, accuses everyone who calls them out of harassment, and hypocritically shouts down and shames people who accuse her of sexual harassment (http://t.co/UjY7Hwa3J8) that makes them look terrible. The hacking incident is just ridiculous and unacceptable. And gaming journalism didn't need any help being terrible in the first place. It's a classic case of everybody sucks

It's stupid on many levels I even have to ask this...

PSN on PS4 is still down. I was going to start up Ground Zeroes but I'm not sure if there are any game-breaking bugs straight out of the box. In other words, should I wait for a patch or just get to it? (I seriously hate that I even have to ask)

*edit* I suppose patches still work when the PSN is down. An update ran and installed when I popped in the disc. Yeah, I'm not even going to think about the implications of that, but it is knowledge I thought I'd share.

I can't think of any game breaking bugs. Enjoy the game, because it is fantastic. I just played and beat it the other night on hard, and the short length makes it a perfect game to play when you're not sure if you want to watch a movie or play a game. You could literally just run around in that game sneaking and have a lot of fun. Worth the $30 price tag in my opinion.

I was surprised by the Gamepad myself. Works surprisingly well and is pretty comfortable.

So you have a Wii U now, Trip? Cool. My Wii U has been running neck-and-neck with my PS3 for most-used home console this year.

Not happy about that new 3DS. Don't like this sort of inbetween handheld instead of a full-on successor. And again the 3DS should have just always had a second circlepad/stick/whatever. I've said it a thousand times before and this new handheld just drives home that Nintendo has handled the second stick thing like a bunch of morons.

They have dicked around with the whole second stick thing. That being said, the Gamecube controller looked funky when it was announced but once I got my hands on it I thought it was amazing. It's Nintendo so we all just have to wait and see while they take their sweet damn time.

Besides, it could be a good thing for Vita since all of the multi-platform handheld games are essentially 3DS games ported to Vita.
