Re: Now Playing
Just played Episode 4 of Season 2 of The Walking Dead. Like most things, its a really exciting penultimate episode. Some really heavy stuff and some brutal choices. I really like these games... season 2 is not as good as season 1... but I wish both of them had it so your choices and dialogue options mattered more than they do. I know they would have to create a lot more content for all the branching choices. But a lot of the time you get one extra comment from someone for a choice you toiled over 2 episodes prior. Its still a fun ride... but I always go and read the wiki's after I play an episode to see how the choices impact the story and its always very minimal.

I got The Last of Us Remastered. It really does look excellent. The image quality is so much better and the details really shine through. Hard to say about the impact on gameplay because I am still before things really pick up. Good stuff though.
Re: Now Playing
My most recent acquisition is One Piece: Unlimited World Red for Wii U. One of the best-looking cel-shaded games I've ever seen, and it plays pretty well on top of that,

I think i finally understand Resonance of Fate's combat, though every fucking time i say this the next boss makes me so fucking frustrated. I'm learning to love this game a lot, but hoo boy is it's learning curve steep.
Also playing Star Ocean 4. This game despite having one of the most boring stories ever is probably my most played ps360 game. I beat it once on 360, and twice on PS3 at about 100 hours each time. Trying Chaos (Very Hard) now. It starts out pretty brutal but its gotten a lot easier though im pretty sure im massively overleveled.

Chrono Trigger is awesome. Might be kind of interesting to have a bunch of people play together, because you can really branch out in what you do in the late game. That said, it would be next to impossible for me to keep up with you guys. I barely have time for gaming these days. But I have beaten the game enough to be able to discuss.

Re: Now Playing

Re: Now Playing
Recently, it's been Rouge Legacy on Vita (LOVE IT) and yesterday I started to make good on my plan to replay Mass Effect 2. I bought 3 of the DLC that I read was worth buying (Lair of the Shadow Broker, Kasumi, Arrival) and started a new game, changing my Shephard's class from soldier to engineer. Basically the idea is to complete the game and the DLC (and this time romance Tali) before moving on to ME3's campaign.

Started up Guacamelee. Sometimes I start to think I'm actually playing somebody's LittleBigPlanet level. I blame the memes.
Memes aside, it's good

I use the Motioninjoy tool to use my PS3 controller with the PC, and even though it works FLAWLESSLY with everything the left stick and only the left stick doesn't work correctly when I play Walking Dead Season 2 (no problem in season 1). It seems to be a pretty rare problem but I really really don't want to play the game with mouse and keyboard

Still playing FF X and I pretty much hate the end game, but whatever.
Mario Kart 8 4 player is amazing. Everybody in my family plays it now.

Hey you wanted more short games right?
Re: Now Playing
Haha, suppose I should have seen that coming.
Short has to suit the design though, and short did not suit that game's design. It gives you this really deep customization pallet for battles and stuff and when you really get a grip on it and the story starts getting interesting...it ends.
I'd recommend it for when it hits the below $5 mark somewhere down the line but good lord, it is not worth the money now. This is a game that hipsters will love as well.

I just now realised getting 10 maiamia in ALBW nets you an upgrade for the sub-weapon of your choice. If I had known this was the case I would have gone for all of them sooner. I assumed I'd just get a heart piece. It probably mentions that in the game but I haven't been paying attention to the story or dialogue.
This game makes me want to play Phantom Hourglass again. I remember really enjoying that game but I don't remember why, what it's about, or basically anything else other than that it looked good and was fun.
On a sad note, I put my Zelda 3DS in my pocket while doing laundry. I didn't have it in its case, because I'm an idiot, and it fell out of my pocket and skid across the kitchen putting a scratch in the finish
Oh, shit. I'd be very upset if my Zelda 3DS got screwed up like that.
Yeah, the little baby hermit crabs/Shellders/whatever allow you to upgrade your weapons quite nicely. I think they even consume less of the magic meter per use on top of that.

At least it didn't go into the laundry!
And I forget if they say what the crabs get you from the get go...but I remember having a similar crisis with them. I still couldn't figure out how to get a few of them though that were in plain sight >_>

Finished R&C: Into The Nexus. Very enjoyable entry. Sending it back to Gamefly but I'll buy it later so I can take on the challenge mode.
Now, back to Mass Effect 2 playthrough 2!

You've now played all of the Ratchet games, right Avid? What's your favorites?

Playing Knights of the Old Republic 2 with all the cut content restored. I tried this a year or two ago and was enjoying it until the game had a bug that meant I couldn't get off one of the planets. Really enjoying it now that I finally get to experience things like an entire planet they didn't put in the final game.

A Crack In Time, Up Your Arsenal, Going Commando, Tools of Destruction and Into The Nexus are all worthwhile. Despite its rough edges, the first game was still enjoyable the last time I played it.
Deadlocked was okay. Ditto for Size Matters. Quest for Booty was an ok placeholder. Never played the Ratchet PSP game.

What about Full Frontal Assault and All 4 One? All 4 One is my least favorite, the only game I haven't played is Secret Agent Clank.
Up Your Arsenal and A Crack In Time are my two favorites, it is so hard to sort them out after that.

Re: Now Playing
I beat Kingdom Hearts 1.5 on Proud, and it really reminds me of how much I love the series yet also reminds me of all the problems the first game has. Holy shit the level design is awful. Deep Jungle. Atlantica, and Hallow Bastion are key offenders. So glad 2 fixed this. Gonna get the plat eventually but i need a break so i put in KH2 like a moron when 2.5 comes out in december
