I want to get to that game at some point. It's one of many PS+ freebies just sitting there.

Answered your own question. It was clunky and hte enemies never changed and the guns weren't satisfying to shoot. Yeah yeah, it's all part of the point, but still...

But as in it feels like any almost any other TPS to me, 'cept stylish ones like Vanquish. Like, I don't feel any real difference between say Spec Ops shooting and Uncharteds.

I generally hate being locked to a strafe in third-person games (obviously this is not something that affects everyone). That and the control quirks that come with that decision are why I find Spec Ops clunky. I think Uncharted handles movement/cover way better during combat, so I much prefer it to Spec Ops plus being able to use climbing to your advantage in fights makes it a lot more fun. I'd also say Uncharted (or at least 2) has much better encounter design. Gears of War has the advantage of more interesting weapons and enemies. They both have better melee. That is my take.

Pretty much agree with Trip entirely. Controls often feel less important than area and encounter design and Spec Ops was lacking there more than anything else. That's why its shooting wasn't that good to me.

I finally went back to Resonance of Fate. I both hate and love this game so much. The combat is so stupidly hard to understand, but when it works its brilliant. The plot is kind of the same deal. The world map is just stupid though. its a decent idea i guess but you have to fucking grind for hours to explore the entire thing.

Beat Dragon Age Origins, replaying it was so much better than my first playthrough. It helped that I missed some guys my first time so had a more full party, but the series is so much better on PC. Combat could still get really annoying though with how they swarm you with enemies and how there's no real tactical feedback. At the end of the day, it kind of felt like a bigger Kotor, but in a less interesting world and missing some of the special touches.

Started up 2. Did a mage last time (never beat it though), so the dumbing down didn't seem as bad, but initially doing a warrior really showed how Bioware fucked that one up. Restricting dual wielding and arrows to rogues? No more special arrows? Party members can't equip new armor you find? I mean, it's still a fun game, but what were they thinking here?

Honestly after playing Awakening i couldn't get into DA2 again at all. Going from my invincible Keeper Bloodmage to whatever i was in DA2 was just too much of a let down. Using that same build in DA2 seemed kind of impossible. I was a frontline fighter in fucking Robes, and had more HP than all my warriors. I was a fucking beast

Also for the record i simply cannot play anything other than mage in 2. Combat just feels too dull. Theres no real weight to the attacks

Nintendo is doing everything in its power to get you to not play games while using the 3DS. Rewards for putting it to sleep, rewards for walking, rewards for passing other people in the street...

I bought Rayman Legends and played about an hour of it. It's charming and all but the movement feels so sluggish and slow, I'm really struggling to get use to it. I'm hoping once I'm done with the first set of worlds it'll stop giving me tutorial popups which aren't even needed in the first place really.

They don't...but they aren't all that intrusive. As to Rayman's...feel, it's not about precise jumps as much as it is about getting a flow but it's not that it's sluggish persay and when you start doing time trials you'll not feel like the game is "cheating" you, but that you messed up...which is a good thing.

I don't know...I friggin' love Rayman: Legends.

You can't turn it off in the options somewhere?

I don't think it is sluggish, but like I do in Mario I constantly hold the sprint button while playing.

I don't even remember tutorial pop ups in that game. Complaining about that feels like complaining for the sake of complaining

I dont understand the sluggish comment at all. There's stages that fucking force you to run at Sonic levels of speed without stopping if you want to win. Those wall run stages particularly

No, they're just extremely annoying with them simply being there. It's not complaining for the sake of complaining, it genuinely irritates me. The game uses like, 4 buttons, do they really think people are going to forget them so quickly they need to repeat them every single time they're needed? There's just no need for it, it irritates me.

@Kay, yeah the few levels like that I really enjoyed. The music levels seem really cool too.

If that genuinely irritates you, I think you really need to calm down and chill out. Words appearing that remind you of something annoying you so much they ruin a game is ludicrous.

I hate button prompts, so I don't think what Rainjar is saying is too out there. Now I have never quit a game because of them but I have complained plenty about them.

I went back and played a couple levels and they are definitely there quite a bit. I could have sworn you could turn them off, but I guess not.

Or I can just find them annoying and you can fuck off? There's plenty of smaller shit in games that pisses people off, having a game treat its players like braindead retards by reminding you the most basic shit is one of them for me. It's not like I sit there just seething with rage, I just roll my eyes like "Fucking, seriously?"

Those constant reminders along with the sluggish feeling controls (And by that I mean it feels like it takes longer than it should to actually move, maybe I'm just impatient and need to play some really fast video games) just mean I'll probably find something else to play before I finish it. The music levels are the main incentive to play it but they're so damn short.

Ever consider that you might not have communicated that well? Go read your response to Kubert's reply, that's an overreaction if I ever saw one. Also, I feel the same way you do on how they shouldn't need to pop up, but I honestly think you're choosing to let that bother you more than it does. We get it, you think you're part of an elite group of thinkers and have to prove that all the time. I on the other hand will just be happy we got that over something that gets in the way of the gameplay and remember that children who may not be used to games are a huge part of the Rayman market

This has probably escalated a bit further than it needed to it so let's drop this particular little argument about what is worthy of complaint. While it pisses you off Rainjar, I'd say this: Me, Greenman and Twolf (and maybe a few more) love this game to a degree that we would advise pushing through your issues with the tutorials and seeming sluggishness. And hopefully it will grow on you. There are plenty of challenging sprint heavy levels on top of the music ones too that hopefully you will dig.
