Re: Now Playing
Downloaded the Conception 2 Demo on 3DS. Super curious about that game. It sounds really weird.
It's also rated M which I found kinda strange. I know the game's... subject matter probably puts it on the edgy side, but usually games like that aim for a T rating.

Re: Now Playing
Unfortunately I have the PC version so I have to do a bit of finagling to get the damn thing looking semi-decent *SIGH*

Neptunia MkII got an M rating cause it had this guy with a giant tongue who kept trying to kidnap lolis. Apparently thats worse than the dominatrix in Victory.
Re: Now Playing
Just got the third power set in Infamous. Right now I'd probably say it's my favorite in the series. I prefer 1's missions and 2's city, but combat is just so much more fun here that it's enough to beat the other two.

Re: Now Playing
I finished Infamous SS earlier (as a Hero) and I'm not sure how I'd rank them. They all seem to have their strengths. I'm leaning towards SS, but if it is the best there isn't a big gap. Each sequel seemed to take steps forward and steps back as opposed to just building upward. Still a very good game.
Re: Now Playing
I'm not really far into main missions, but the game seems shorter than other inFamous games. That true, Trip?

Re: Now Playing
I've just been clearing districts and tackled maybe 5-6 missions and I'm at 38% I believe. It's still fun though, just seems a lot less story missions.

Re: Now Playing
I've started up:
Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - So far good. Has the classic explore it and figure it out for yourself feel which I like. Not sure how I feel about item rental yet but...
Fire Emblem: Awakening: My First fire emblem game and...there's a lot of systems to learn here. I will get it eventually. I went with Normal Difficulty - Classic Mode just because I'm not an TRPG aficionado and classic because of what I DO know about Fire Emblem I know that permadeath is a big part of it.
South Park: Stick of Truth - got some cash and just couldn't hold back anymore. Shame I missed the Amazon sale by a day but...I am loving it so far. It's nailing the humor of the series and the look is awesome. The UI is a bit...clunky to say the least but that's not really why I'm playing it.

Luftrausers is a neat little indie game. There's only one level, but you can customize your plane and you have to complete a few different missions with each part. So far it hasn't started to feel repetitive. I also love the idea of health-regen in this game for once. Otherwise it would just be bullet hell, and it lets you FLY YOUR PLANE UNDERWATER AND CRASH THROUGH A SHIP FROM BENEATH IT (AWESOME even in 2d.) The menu is really confusing at first, though. I'll have to play more to decide how much I'd pay for it, too(I only paid $5 but it's normally 10)

So Gamefly didn't cancel my membership after the trial for some reason, so I decided to make the most of it and rent Arkham Origins. It's much more of a mess than the last two, hit detection's awful and it often mistakes which direction I want to punch.

Or the red mage kidnapping girls and putting them in a sex dungeon in Bravely Default...
MAKE SURE TO CENSOR THAT BATHING SUIT THO
Re: Now Playing
Started up an evil run on Infamous. I do not like playing evil. You really are just hilariously over the top in your complete asshole-ish ways when going the evil route in these games.
I think my issue besides the dodgy aiming was that the more aggressive enemy AI seemed to make for less fun combat. Basically there was a lot more waiting to counter for me than trying to do a bunch of fancy moves and be more offensive. There may have been more limitations to when you could counter too, but I don't know the games well enough to say for sure. I didn't encounter any hit detection problems though.

Re: Now Playing
My issues were almost all with the Killer Croc fight with hit detection. He'd throw a barrel that would explode right where I am with no damage and other times I'd be just outside and would get hit

I don't like doing the evil run as well. Not that I don't appreciate the powers, but I'm forced to be such a dick. The powers always seem a little better though.

I prefer how Bioware handles morality: instead of making you cartoonishly evil, they make you a hilarious dick

Re: Now Playing
I dislike how Bioshock does morality on the big choices though, except for Dragon Age because it kind of fit in that world.
For smaller stuff like that though...awesome.

Re: Now Playing
Infamous choices are usually like: do you want to save this busload of orphans and give them all puppies or would you like to light your grandmother on fire.
Re: Now Playing
I would recommend Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition (yes that name is literally the the dumbest thing but the game is great) on PS4 and/or Vita to anyone even with a passing interest in the series theres SO MUCH content and the little upgrades they gave to DW8 for it are pretty cool too. You can now have 3 Body Guards and you can give orders to them. Want them fuck up a guy on the left of the map while you take on the guy on the right you can actually do this now.
Vita version plays great only noticeable problems are the voice track is kind of lower quality and water doesnt render and it looks like sludge nothing that actually affects gameplay though.

Re: Now Playing
I agree pspiddy, inFamous has some amazing facial animations. As far as character animations go, I think it might be the best on PS4.

Re: Now Playing
I bought the PS4 Tomb Raider on that flash sale combined with a $10 credit I had on my PSN account and played it for a bit yesterday... I've never really been able to get into a Tomb Raider before and I must say I am really enjoying this. The only reason I stopped playing was because I had to head out. I like how it is constantly pushing you forward. And some of the set pieces are pretty neat. I also really like how Lara moves. She stumbles around a bit and doesn't move like the Bionic Woman. I know a lot of people were disappointed by this game, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Looks damn good on PS4 too.

Re: Now Playing
One day I'll get back to it and try some actual gameplay in Tomb Raider besides that hunting part (which might've been cool if it weren't for a certain other game doing it so much better last year) to see if it's worth it. At the time I just felt like it was rushing as quickly as possible and I didn't care for the gratuitous death scenes. This ain't Dead Space, folks. Played about 30 minutes and went straight back to Dark Souls
Is there any decent way to get that "kill an enemy with his own grenade" stunt in the first Infamous? Every other game that does this makes it so easy but it seems nearly impossible here

I think you just wanna use the R1 zaps at whoever is throwing grenades. Eventually one will get dropped and kaboom... ding.

Re: Now Playing
I believe there is a power that throws stuff back at enemies right? I think that is how I did it. Maybe I made this power up though.
Re: Now Playing
Oh yeah, there's a power up that throws stuff at enemies. The problems are A: it throws them way too far, B: People don't throw grenades very often, and C: even if you manage to do it all right, you have to make sure the guy has low enough health to kill him. I've only gotten the grenade to land in the right spot once so far, and it didn't kill him. If I knew it would be this hard I wouldn't have upgraded my shockwave power
I'm not sure if zapping him to make him drop it counts. You might have to launch it back at him. I'll have to try that out, though
