That stuck out to me. That's selfish of me to say, but I wanted to be up front and honest; something destitute dads never do.

Anyways, I'm playing music again. I kind of want to do a follow up album. It's an investment though. Like, I admire Greenie and Trip in how they write their respective shit; It comes off as effortless. I'm not saying you guys don't put the effort in, contrary, it just feels natural when I read it. When I write it gets so complicated because every line has to be perfect and representational of the greater whole. And trying to transcribe shit from acoustic to multiple instruments is tedious.

On that note- pun half-intended- I like how this forum is a good outlet from my everyday life. The smack talk is fun and everyone here is intelligent and fun. We all have gaming in common, but since migrating here, the commonality has grown. Now I'm being all mushy and existential. This forum is shit and all of you are stupid.

I must say a lot of my blogs end up as half finished word docs or drafts I end up throwing out after a month. I've been trying to be better at putting stuff out even if I'm not thrilled with it, but it is hard sometimes. I have been chipping away at a novel too. I'd love to be able to say I finished one someday if nothing else.

Sort of. I'd like to work with something involving music but I'm certainly not planning on making my living out of selling or performing it at all. I'd like to at least get an album released some day, though. Maybe try out scoring films/games, too, to see what that's like. I might have a small project to work on in that regard over the summer

Never knew you had an album out as well pspiddy.  Get us a link.  I play guitar and like anyone that really loves music always make up my own riffs, but never ever actually make a song.  I've always been disgusted that people that just sing songs written for them get so much praise when there are actual talented people out there who write songs.  If I was ever able to write music or an album, I don't think I'd ever be able to put it out because if it sounded remotely fake or forced I'd hate it and never want to hear it.  How bands like Nickelback put out crap after crap and are okay with themselves boggles my mind.  You listen to good music pspiddy, so I'm sure you make good music as well.  

One reason I really miss 1up is for the blogging aspect.  I used to really like writing blogs, and now I never do and I feel like my brain is turning to mush because I never do it.  Glad you stuck with doing it Trip, always loved your writings.

And yeah, it was really just a big burden for me to finally talk to my dad. I had to do it when I did because I needed to send him an invitation and had no idea where he lived. Literally put it off until the very last minute.

I may be able to find the mp3 files somewhere on one of my Many email accounts. All of the original hard copies were lost in hurricane Ike. It was self produced in my converted studio so no one get too excited. I still know the music, but some of the improv shit is irreplaceable.

If I can find those mp3s I'll post them here. I'm really proud of the songs.

Even though I'm not religious anymore, I'm still doing Lent since my family doesn't know that and I think it's a good idea, just to make me eat healthier. So I decided to give up sugar and fuck you never know how addicting that stuff is until you're off of it. Taking all my self control to keep this from happening

Does everyone here have a set amount of monies they can blow on video games or hobbies a month? Mine is sort of vague in that if it comes with an artbook it doesn't count, but if something drops below $20, I jump and it counts even if I don't play it for a few months. Anything my wife gets doesn't count. It's pretty silly, but if you put the rationale behind it saves money.

Example: I spent $70 on a sawhorse. She blew $90 at the craft store. We, now, owe each other some cool shit. Her Nintendo games are ridiculously expensive no matter the wait. My PS4 games MUST BE HAD NOW! That equals out...for now. Now I have to eat her over seasoned fajitas, and she has to eat my salty chicken. (mind out of gutter, guys) And so we have to save stupid ass monies and hold hands instead of speeding away in our respective Ferraris.

I work at Wal-Mart, so I always have to be choosey. Actually, I'm not poor but since I bought a house and I have to drive a little further and have a wedding coming up I have to be a little more cautious. Usually I always just buy whatever game I want. Cutting a 3DS out of the equation was a step in the right direction for saving money.

I remember having to do all this stupid bullshit that did nothing more than waste time and wondering why the fuck an all knowing god would give two shits about this. It's just people abusing their power once again for either more power or money and I wanted no part of that.

Anyways, here's a fun anecdote:

Greenie mentioning Target made me think of the Target I used to shop at WAY back in the mid 2000's. Luke Scott was playing for the Astros at the time. He was shopping there and I was actually wearing my Berkman jersey. So, I think, he assumed I was approaching him for an autograph or whatever. His eyes got wide as I approached and then the twinkle died once he realized I was just trying to get to some patio furniture.

It was the same Target I gave Bill Gibbons of ZZ Top a peace sign as he was entering and I was leaving. He, also, kind of looked like I was going to accost him or something. Nah, man, just chunking the deuce. My life is fucking strange sometimes.

That's pretty cool to run into some famous people at a Target. Never met a famous person myself.

Famous is a relative term. Ron Allen was in front of me at a concession line during a skate demo. He wanted water. I didn't recognize him until he turned around and handed me his change. Saying, "Take this, I'm up". I don't think it crossed his mind I got his board for my birthday. Nor that I didn't give a fuck about Hawk or the other guys; I was there to see him and Hensley and the rest of the H-Street guys.

I kept that quarter in my wallet until I lost the damn wallet. I love grandpa stories. If the wifey and me could have kids, we'd fucking rock at stories.

I got the members of Placebo to sign a CD, that's about all I've got.

I was, like, 12 when I went to a con and had Stan Lee sign a couple of comics for me. I had rehearsed all day what I would say. I ended up saying, "You're Stan Lee".

He also commented on how the Spiderman and X-Men books I had him sign had nothing to do with him. It was Jim Lee's X-Men and the Spiderman was the first showing of Morbius.

Oh, hell yes! It's ice cream truck season! I didn't have any singles on me this time, but bet your ass I will have them tomorrow and every other weekend from here on out. The neighbor a few houses down with a gazillion kids moved out too so now I'll only have to spring for like, 2 or 3 kids when they catch me out there.
