Re: Anticipated Games
I'm more excited for Blackgate than the console Origins, but even then I'm waiting out for some opinions. Will probably ask for it for my birthday or Christmas.

This may (or may not!) sound insane - I'm not sure where this will land here - but I have become hopelessly hooked on Disney Infinity. Skylanders? Pshhh, that's stupid baby stuff. Building levels where I can play soccer with Barbossa and Mater? FUCKING BRILLIANT!
Seriously - I'm counting down the days.

Re: Anticipated Games
I'm basically waiting around for Rayman Origins and Puppeteer. I've thought about grabbing Splinter Cell just for something new in the meantime, but I think I can wait on that one. We'll see what happens next week I guess. Sounds like it has a ton of content and plenty of co-op and replayability.
Re: Anticipated Games
I've seen those machines popping up. Never did play the game for consoles though.

So that's what older Junpei looks like. For some reason I think he looks adorably goofy. Yukari looks pretty much the same to me though.

Re: Anticipated Games
Hello everyone! I am excited about Splinter Cell Blacklist, which I'm picking up today! And COD Ghost as well as BF4. I know this club is "Playstation", but these days, I do most of my gaming on the XBOX because for games I play (COD), the servers are so much more reliable, and party chat is more convenient. Also, for COD, there are more players on XBOX.
However, that does not mean I hate Playstation! I love all consoles

Welcome to the club!
Yeah, I thought Blacklist was going to be another conviction but reviews seem to be indicating it's an honest to god stealth game so I might check it out (when it's in the $20-30 range).

Hey Bret!
Krubix,
I have only played Conviction hahaha, and I am not very good at stealthy games. I'm read that you can play this one either way, and I am looking forward to doing coop and MP with friends.

OMG the new battle theme is amazing! I've been waiting for a chance to hear what the remastered music sounds like. I'm SO excited for FFX HD Â

I prefer the original. I just like how simple it sounds in comparison, plus it doesn't have that god awful electric guitar noise in the background.
Re: Anticipated Games
B-but.. electric guitar makes everything better!
Seriously though, I never cared for the original and always felt it was one of the weakest FF battle themes. I feel the remaster adds a lot to it and I like the sound of it, but it still isn't one of my favorites.

So I'm getting a review code for Killer is Dead for sure and might be getting a copy of Rayman Legends (which I was going to get anyways) so those and SR4 will be keeping me occupied for a while.

Everyone knows NOTHING can top the Final Fantasy 7 battle theme anyway. The OST to that game is perfection.

I don't know, FFVIII had amazing battle themes. I do agree that VII's OST is perfection though

Re: Anticipated Games
I've been to Distant Worlds twice. Every time I've gone, Nobuo closes the show with "One-Winged Angel". In St. Louis he wanted the audience to sing the entire song, including all the Latin stuff. In Omaha, he just wanted us to sing the "Sephiroth" part. That song is epic as hell.
FFVI also had a fantastic soundtrack. Nobuo got up on stage and played the overworld theme for the World of Ruin before you get the airship on a keyboard.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is on my radar because its killzone. The youtube video of the multiplayer has me wanting it more and more. Second Son looks good and so does the Witcher.
If BF4 can pull off PC specs (number of players @ 60fps) then I'm in. BTW Hi Fufu! Where is your boy Laz?

Re: Anticipated Games
I liked the heaviness of KZ2 if that makes sense. I was on the number 7 clan in the world with KZ2.
It was not COD and that was good because if I wanted to play COD I would just play COD. KZ3 tried to mimic COD too much. I'm just hoping there is a balance there. Here's hoping *beer mug clicking*

Re: Anticipated Games
I'm a strong supporter in what KZ3 did. I feel they touched up the controls and made them easier, but still no where near the fluid feel of COD. I remember KZ2 not offering you really anything for killing people during a game of Warzone, but KZ3 still rewarded you more for doing objectives. You could kill 20 people and not die in 3 and still have a pretty low score.
I love both games but I'm a big supporter of what 3 did for multiplayer. I felt like there was more reward for completing the objectives and using your class to help your team.
Don't get me wrong, I love both games, I just don't understand why so many people jumped ship on 3. Just like in KZ2, if you have a great team, you're gonna annihilate the others.

Re: Anticipated Games
I actually loved the feel of KZ2's weapons. But it pretty much ended there. I didn't get my PS3 until late 2010 and by then everyone had moved on from the MP so all I had left was the SP when I got to it. And it did every single thing I hate in an FPS campaign.

Re: Anticipated Games
Killzone 3 is up there in most disappointing games of this gen for me.
"Hey guys, why don't we take all of good stuff out from the second one and make it more like them Cawadoody instant gratification shooters that everyone like these days. Take away that satisfying weight the weapons had, slap some 50+ points all over the screen, yeah nice."
No thank you. The more footage they show of the new one the less I'm interested. Killzone is dead2me.
I'm getting more and more excited for MGSV though after Kojima replied to all the feminazi's about Quiet's design. What does the tricksman have up his sleeve.

Re: Anticipated Games
I disagree with everything about this. If you're implying they made it like COD, you couldn't be more wrong. Because you got points for killing someone and the weapons controlling better ruined the game? They still had weight. You should still kill the enemies. If they gave you more points for killing someone as opposed to completing the objective then I would agree with you, but they don't. It's just a few minor points in the bigger picture. I've always played the game with the goals/objectives in mind, and my cousin that is of the COD mindset doesn't get/understand the game, and he finishes last on the team with almost no contribution. The weapon weight/points for a kill take nothing away from the formula that is still the same as KZ2.Rainjar wrote:
