Re: Now Playing
I'm still plugging away at GTAV. I don't remember GTA games being this long. I'm already over 30 hours and it doesn't seem like there's an end in sight. I've stopped doing the side missions for the most part, because at this point I want to see how the story plays out. I don't think I'm going to do a lot of the multiplayer, because I have Gran Turismo 6 coming this week, along with a couple other games I bought for cheap on Black Friday deals. Either way, GTAV is by far my favorite GTA game... basically because its the only one I've ever had any desire to finish. Usually I just get tired of the story and run around killing people and then eventually stop playing.

Re: Now Playing
Thought I'd be able to buy Persona 3 FES from the US Store and save myself a shit ton of money but then the awful realization that it'd probably region locked occurred so I'm back to having to choose between the shitty PSP version, spending far more than it's worth getting a PS2 and an actual copy or saving for months to by a gaming PC to emulate it on.
This week is already shit. ;__;.

Re: Now Playing
I'd actually say the PSP version is the way to go since it's the only one that lets you control your party member's actions.
Also FES may be available as a PS2 classic. Not sure how it is in EU, but it's there here.

Re: Now Playing
We ain't got it on the EU store. We get nothing 'cept those god awful avatars they just won't stop making, which is why I wanted to get it off the US store.
We also don't get the Evangelion avatars that the Japan store has. You can probably guess how that makes me feel.

Re: Now Playing
I own all versions of P3 physical and digital, and i prefer Portable out of all of them. You lose the (poorly animated anime cutscenes. I love this game but seriously those all looked like shit) and the ability to use any weapon with your main character (which is minor to me cause in Persona/SMT i always spec for magic, and weapons only effect basic attacks anyways. Skills are based off your Persona's St stat.) in exchange for more content (it has more uests events and Personas than FES does) full party control, and P4's dungeon crawling and battle mechanics (P4's not P4G's) which does make the game easier, but Maniac difficulty more than makes up for this.
The female protagonist also has superior S.Links, and S.Links with ALL party members. Unless the anime cutscenes and walking around town (instead of P3P's cursor) is THAT important to you I'd reccomend Portable.

Re: Now Playing
Honestly, I was waiting to hear what you had to say Kay haha. I kept being told FES is the best version, and I'm still a little cautious about the PSP version, but it doesn't look like I have any other decent option. Gonna miss walking around town, but I guess I'll go for the PSP version then ;__;. Thanks guys.
Gonna get the first two as well early next year after what Ajapam said. Pay day pls hurry up.

You know, I'm very disappointed. I feel like every time I play notoriously glitchy open world games everything works fine for me. Feel like I'm missing out.

Re: Now Playing
I've been playing PS+ freebie Contrast. All right game with some glitches, but I enjoy the art style and the way they do cut scenes. It's nothing mind blowing but somehow the game keeps me intrigued.

Re: Now Playing
I only played a bit of Contrast and never went back. Maybe it was a slow start, but I was kind of bored.
Re: Now Playing
There's never really anything exciting about the game, so chances are you may never like it. I like the art of the game and the generosity of trophies. There are some puzzles which aren't too hard which is nice since I don't love puzzle games all that much.
Good art style
Decent story
Okay gameplay
There's a cool take on a puppet show later in the game.

Re: Now Playing
So 7 hours later I got to the end of one of the routes on Virtue's Last Reward. I don't think I've ever seen a game set up such an interesting premise, both story and gameplay wise, just to lose all confidence in it completely and throw in tons of unneeded shit to keep the players curiosity.
Even worse, I got so close to the end of one route but because I honestly don't know this one thing required to get to the actual end it just finishes on "To be continued" and puts me back to the start of the entire game. Am I meant to replay it and figure it out with the other routes or something or am I just being a fucking idiot with the answer being painfully obvious.
I did really enjoy quite a bit though and I'm obviously going to end up playing a bit more but I am rather disappointed how it ended up turning out.

- Virtue's Last Reward:
- I'm on the far left path. I sided with Luna on everything and didn't betray anyone, now I need some username password and it flashes loads of stuff from what seems to be from the other routes. I kept trying Memento Mori stuff for them but it didn't seem to work, so either I'm being completely retarded or I'm missing something.
Re: Now Playing
Just beat Ratchet: Into the Nexus. As far as the series goes, it's somewhere in the middle. Better than 1 and the last two games, but not as good as Up Your Arsenal or A Crack in Time. Left me wanting more at the end, but I supposed New Game Plus will fix that.

Re: Now Playing
I'd agree its in the middle of Ratchet games, but I still think its a great game. It'd be in the mix after UYA, ACiT, GC and ToD and there is no shame being behind those games. The length hurts it when compared to those games, but it's hard to knock it from a value standpoint at that price.
Re: Now Playing
Yeah, I agree. I even think I may like it more than GC, though I need to replay before I can say for sure. Looking back though, I kind of feel like they were going for a full R&C before deciding to just do a shorter ones. Story especially feels that way, like how bland the villains are. Could have used a cutscene or two with just the two of them going over their evil plan with a few jokes sprinkled in like Nefarious always has.

Re: Now Playing
I think the villains and story are definitely hurt a bit by the shorter length, but don't see that as an indication that it was intended to be a longer game at one point. Seems like a jump in logic.
Re: Now Playing
Yeah, maybe. Just kind of the impression I got, but could just be me.

Re: Now Playing
Yeah, it is a possibility.
I've been playing NSMB2 and it seems a little phoned in. It's still pretty good, but not that great. They do occasionally do something cool with the coins like turning Lakitus gold and stuff like that, but this gimmick isn't doing a lot for me. It takes the focus away from the sharper level design I think.
Splinter Cell Blacklist is going slow. I've never been great at stealth games, so playing this in small bursts.
Was trying to get Gamefly to send me a PS4 game, but no dice. Added some PS3 games on there and they are sending me Batman: Arkham Origins, so I'll be able to try that soon.

Re: Now Playing
I think Trip's brain is completely in tune with my brain when it comes to Ratchet games. That's exactly how I'd order them as well.
What do you like more Trip, All 4 One or Full Frontal Assault?

Re: Now Playing
I finished NSMB2. It certainly isn't one of the best Mario games, but I still had fun with it.
Also started up Batman: Arkham Origins. Not far enough in to really say much. Though there is snow which Bret would love. Pretty much standard Batman stuff. I'm either a little rusty or they've tweaked some stuff and its fouling me up. I mean its probably me, but I remember hearing of some tweaks to things and would love to blame it on that!

Re: Now Playing
GT6 finally arrived last night so I have been playing that mostly. Right from the start I am already impressed that they fixed most of the interface issues that plagued GT5. Much easier to jump into races. They make it a lot easier to switch cars and give you a proper list of car you have that are eligible for the race you are attempting. Not happy with a 1.2 gig day one patch but at least this one does a much better job of hiding the installs. It kind of installs as you go so no waiting around for an hour like GT5. As usually the racing feels great. Havent played around with tuning much but I will soon since Amazon was nice enough to throw me a million credits for preordering it.
Re: Now Playing
Since I've been snowbound, it's been a mixture of Mass Effect 3 MP, Batman: Arkham City and Rayman Legends (Vita). The first two are 360 titles and AA has been neglected by myself. Two of my friends still play ME3 MP and it's a blast to play with them. To be honest, the only times I seem to play Rayman Legends these days is when I'm waiting for my truck to warm up.
