Make a Spinoff

Dumb idea for a thread, but I thought we could make up ideas for spinoffs. Stuff like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Metal Gear Solid Revengeance, Captain Toad, Daxter, Undead Nightmare, etc. It could spin things off to a new character, a different style of gameplay, a wacky setting, and so on. Even give it a new developer suited for the spinoff if you want. Any ideas?

A Halo game made by Platinum Games in the vein of Bayonetta focusing on the energy sword and gravity hammer would be my top pick. Would also like a Mass Effect stealth/platforming hybrid starting Thane.

I would love a Mass Effect spin off that was more action oriented like Greenie said.

I always thought a downloadable game based on the 2D Qwark sections in Up Your Arsenal would be fun. Obviously the concept would have to be fleshed out more (like they did with Captain Toad), but that could have been cool. Admittedly, I liked the idea better when you weren't just assaulted with 2D games when entering the PS Store. I also wanted to see more challenging versions of Clank's sections in ACiT, but that is probably more of a DLC idea. I'm sure they could spin it into a small game though. These would have been better than a couple of the spin-offs we got I think.

Captain Toad was really what made me think of this thread. I was first going to frame it as a Nintendo specific thing. Nintendo is actually making new IPs. We still get the big releases in their franchises. I think games like Captain Toad are a good way to kind of fill voids in their line-up. I will try and think on some more specific ideas for them.

I'd like a Zelda spinoff starring Zelda. I'm not sure how it'd differ from a Link adventure, but I'd like one.

One way I could see that working (though I know it's not what you'd want Trip) is a strategy game where you play as her controlling an army and have to hold off Ganon's forces until Link returns, even carving out pathways for him. Could be a cool way to use her role as a princess

I'd buy it and probably not like it that much. Battles of Prince of Persia all over again.

I remember getting that for christmas. I was like "wow, Prince of Persia on DS?" Needless to say, my excitement was short-lived

I used to just buy all things Prince of Persia. I also have the Sands of Time GBA game, but I recall that being pretty solid.

Here's a spinoff or DLC idea that could be cool: Playing as Bill from The Last of Us and gathering supplies to set up traps throughout the town so you can survive day to day.
