I tried something today that I thought might help with my ulcer pain and it worked. It's an alternative medicine that was just, um, "made available" in a couple of states. I didn't take it for anything other than pain and I can say it works better than my prescription painkillers and I wasn't all loopy because I didn't need much for it to help.

At first I was calling bullshit on this alternative medicine working for stomach pain and thought people were just hippies. Now I'm a believer.

I've heard it's quite effective for that. And hopefully with legalization, more people will continue to breed strains that don't get you high but still have the medical benefits.

When I saw Radiohead 2 years ago, I talked to one of the security guys and asked what would happen if someone was smoking marijuana. He said, "They'll get kicked out." I was so happy to hear that, I was going to narc out anyone who lit up. Like ajapam, I don't care that people do it but I don't want to smell it. What if I liked microwaving dog shit because it made me feel better, doesn't mean I should do it in a room full of people.

One of the worst things that can happen when shop-vacuuming behind electronics is hearing a loud thudding-clank get sucked up. I'm cutting my losses on this one because I was vacuuming up the aftermath of spraying for spiders and bugs. Whatever it was, I'm convincing myself it was not important.

@Bret: NARCing would be shitty. But I agree it is annoying. They should just make brownies or something. I don't like even a contact high because I'm not in high school anymore so I ask them to do it elsewhere or I just move.

I don't mind the smell. I just don't like being stoned. I quit that kind of stuff back in college when I realised it did absolutely nothing for my concentration and productivity. Part of growing up I guess. Leave it for the kids with summer jobs and nothing better to do than hang out at the beach. Le sigh. Damn kids.

I've never actually been high myself and only occasionally drink. Last time I did drink was on my birthday, then I went home and ate ice cream cake and watched the Great Mouse Detective. I'm such a party animal.

I've had some good drunken nights, I wont lie. Never really got into the smoking, just had enough friends around me that did it and it just didn't interest me all that much. That said, my drunken nights are usually mixed with nerdy stuff (Game of Thrones board game and drinking = extra backstabbing, for example).

That said, as a waiter, waiting on drunk/high customers is the god damn worst. Unless they're so drunk they give you a $20 for accidentally bumping into you. In that case, keep drinking drunk guy, keep drinking.

I come from an Irish Catholic family so drinking's always been a staple in my family. We're the drunk people at a party that make you stick around just to see what insane thing we do next

Never smoked anything, never will (except candy cigarettes). Every now and then I drink, and when I do I like to listen to music, and sometimes doodle or color. Once I get a little drunk, I like to go for night walks.

I drink, but not nearly as much as I used to. I still get together with my old college friends and binge drink til we pass out from time to time... but I can't handle those hangovers like I used to. Getting too old for that shit!

I never have been a big drinker myself. I'll have some at Christmas and New Years', then every once in awhile (like once every 5-6 months) I'll make myself a daiquiri. I can't afford to get liquored up or stoned. I could lose my health care license if something goes wrong.

When I was 12, though, I went to Germany. My folks took me to a winery near Frankfurt am Main, and as part of the tour, the guests got to do wine-tasting. Thanks to lax German laws regarding kids and booze, I got to join in.

My wife went to Wally World and I asked her to pick up a small box for all the ridiculous charging cables I use. She came home with a TMNT lunchbox that is perfect for the task, a Hot Wheels Star Trek ship, and a Rocket Raccoon poster. That's all kinds of awesome.

My parents have me hooked on this three-hole washer game that I played at their last BBQ. I'm getting pretty good. Gives me something to do with my dad once a week (we don't share many common interests these days) which is a bonus.
