Re: Now Playing
I think you'll be safe with Bayonetta Kay since that's on Wii U which has no trophies. Unless you're talking about the first game. Then you're fucked.

Re: Now Playing
I meant the first game, and yeah no. I'm not even gonna pretend i can platinum any platinum game. I mean as much as i love them i dont have the patience or skill for that. At least without losing my sanity.
Re: Now Playing
Finished Limbo (Vita) 2 nights ago. Really damn good game. Some of the puzzles in the 2nd half made me want to punch a hole in a nearby wall. Great ending, too.
Started Thomas Was Alone today and I'm impressed as well. Good puzzles and funny narration (is that Stephen Merchant?) and I like the Atari-style graphics.
Played quite a bit of Assassin's Creed IV. I still love it but, fuck, that's a huge game. I was 24 hours in and I only cracked 42%. I wonder what my progress is now...

Re: Now Playing
Agreed on the Persona 3 ending. Hopefully the new 3DS game won't ruin it (spoiler alert: it will. Damn fanservice)
I beat DmC and I'm working on Puppeteer now. It might take a while. This game seems a good one to take one level at a time

Re: Now Playing
I don't understand why people care if something is 'canon' that's outside the individual stories.
So P2: Innocent Sin and P2: Eternal Punishment or whatever. Someone wanna explain to me what's going on here, which one do I buy (No I don't even read a tiny bit of information about games I wanna buy, give me these details)

It's been a long time but I seem to remember liking P3's story more and P4's gameplay a lot more. I just want a mixture of the 2 games...

Re: Now Playing
P3s OST at the end worked so damn well with everything going on that I was sat there feeling so much hype with the biggest "FUCKYEAH, LET'S FUCKING DO THIS" grin on my face.
Truly one of the best endings ever, easily in my top 3 endings of all video games. So perfect. Been listening to the OST since I got home

The ending of P3 makes me want to agree with you, but then I think about the beginning, Mitsuru and Fuuka's character arcs, and everything Ken ever does. I'd buy a fourth version that replaces ken
@Rainjar Innocent Sin comes before Eternal Punishment.

Re: Now Playing
Is it a direct sequel to the first or anything? I'm probably not going to pick it up for a while yet, I'm trying to get into Persona 4 Arena but I get frustrated with fighting games because I never know what I'm doing. It doesn't help that the story mode involves sitting through god awful dialogue sections for 10-15 minutes until the next fight, so I'm not sure if I'm going to carry on with it. Also the people who cast for the Eng VAs need to be fucking shot. Why would you decide that Adachi's VA should just voice P4s protag? He voices Lelouch from Code Geass too. It's annoying enough having P4 protag talk, having him voiced by that guy is just unbearable. Might just replay Persona 4 for now, go for that true ending and all.
Also Yukari for best Persona gurl.
Aigis for best Persona character.
The story element in P3 that just confuses me is

- P3 spoilers:
- Chidori coming back to life. I know it's some optional shit but I just don't see how it fits into anything, it's completely retarded.
Re: Now Playing
Innocent Sin/Eternal Punishment were meant to be one game, but development was cut short and they had to be made into two
Re: Now Playing
Fuck what I said about Persona 4 Arena, the gameplay finally started to click while I was playing online with a friend, it's so much crazy fun. Elizabeth is my favourite to play at the moment and I haven't got much interest in the story mode so just gonna roll with online. The OST which came with it is really great too.
Persona 4 dance game when.
Persona 5 pls hurry up.

Re: Now Playing
Been playing God of War for the first real time. There are some things I really don't like, but after playing through a big part of Pandora's Temple tonight I am loving it. Really badass level. Combat really improves once you upgrade the blades. Still run into some terrible parts here and there, but overall I think it is great.
Re: Now Playing
I loved the story and the way the world just comes together in that game. How things you see in the beginning come back in the end in a clever way. I loved that God of War game and every other.

Re: Now Playing
I'm onto the second God of War game now. I'm really hooked on this series all of the sudden.
Re: Now Playing
The thing I was talking about how the world comes together is when you first encounter that guy digging a hole, and then later in the game you come crawling out of it. Little touches like that are just fantastic.

Re: Now Playing
God of War II does a really awesome job coming full circle. God of War III tries to do it, but doesn't do it quite as well. I know people have problems with these games, but I think the combat is fun enough to make each one worth playing. Hopefully you stick with it through Ascension, Trip... what Sony fan hasn't played all of the God of Wars? Haha.

Just don't skip the PSP ones. Well, GoS at least, CoO was not a good first effort. But god damn GoS was so fucking good.

Re: Now Playing
I have Ghosts of Sparta sitting on my PS3 Hard Drive. I had played through Chains of Olympus and platted it... I just wasn't ready to fire up another God of War quite yet. I should probably play it if it has the Greenman seal of approval. But what do I know... I thought Chains of Olympus was alright.

Re: Now Playing
I don't really like the God of War games but I gotta admit the third (Was the first I played) had some goddamn awesome moments. Some of the brutal death scenes were so damn satisfying and that one part in the final section was proper video games. Kratos is a prat though.
Re: Now Playing
I haven't played a single God of War game, just the demos for 2 and 3. I probably never will.

Re: Now Playing
I like Matt really enjoyed Chains of Olympus. I liked Ghosts of Sparta more, but not by much. I really do love those God of War games, and to think back when they were all the rage on PS2 I never wanted to play them. Glad I gave the greatest hit game a chance or else I would have really missed out on something special.

Re: Now Playing
Well you probably remember when I wouldn't watch certain TV shows because they had a lot of nudity or sex. This series started during that time of my life and having seen my brother play a bit of these, that kind of turned me off even though it seemed like the game part I would enjoy. Now that I'm kind of over that I figured it was a good time to give it a try. I still don't care for the nudity and luckily in what I've played so far you can just ignore the sex minigames. I don't really like Kratos, but the game is so fun that it doesn't really bother me. Glad I finally got around to it anyway. I will probably play all of them eventually. But maybe just start with the trilogy so I don't get burn out.TheMatt wrote:God of War II does a really awesome job coming full circle. God of War III tries to do it, but doesn't do it quite as well. Edit: I know you weren't seriously asking why I hadn't but I figured some might be curious since these kind of action/adventure games are in my wheelhouse.
Re: Now Playing
When I get the platinum for Ni No Kuni I'm going to start Xillia as well. Hopefully I capture some of the same magic that I had a year ago.
Good luck with the pipes. This has been one of the worst winters that I've ever remembered.
