Re: Now Playing
But as I pointed out. I ran into a glitch that would not let me progress. I was stuck in a room so I literally had no choice but to quit. Lost like a half an hour of progress. Though SF's saves were pretty random too now that I think of it.BretBaber wrote:I thought you were talking about Shadow Falls on twitter. No bad save points happened to me on Mercenary, but that's mainly because I would always just put the game on hold.
Re: Now Playing
Considering getting Mercenary quite soon. Did they manage to make the guns feel as satisfying as the console games?
Re: Now Playing
Finished the campaign in Batman: Arkham City this morning before going to sleep. A more satisfying ending than Arkham Asylum. I started the New Game Plus mode and now I'm having a bitch of a time (as Catwoman) trying to take down Two Face.

@Rainjar, I thought the guns felt closer to 2 than 3, but that may just be due to the fact it is on the Vita and not a dual shock controller.

Yeah, in telling this there's no way for me to look like anything but a dumbass. But, if the shoe fits...
I posted this over at pixlbit but I'll recap here: an early mission (in which you rescue Mr. Freeze from The Penguin) required you to disable 3 communications disrupters surrounding the area of the building where Mr. Freeze is being held. Until you disable these, you can't bypass the security and progress any further. I had luck locating and disabling (*) two of them but a third was located in the subway section and I couldn't enter it because a gate was blocking the way. For some reason, I couldn't progress any further and I was sure it was a glitch.
I discovered that the disrupters had multiple (well, 3) panels to punch through and destroy before they were gone for good. ONLY when this happened, would you trigger some audio cues from The Penguin and his henchmen. I repeated this with the 2nd disrupter and the audio cues came again; this time they indicated that the third was in the subway. Interesting. That means....
I go to the subway entrance. Sneak past the enemies. Walk down the stairs and low and behold, the gate was no longer there. I was simultaneously happy and perplexed, followed soon by embarrassment. "I was sure it was a glitch". It happened to be something that I failed to do or something I neglected. And while I feel like a dumbass, I'm really glad that the problem wasn't a glitch.

Re: Now Playing
Eh, it's not entirely your fault. It's kind of obtuse design but glad you managed to get through it. Game-breaking glitches are THE worst. It's the reason I never finished spirit tracks on the DS.

Re: Now Playing
What was your glitch on Spirit Tracks?
Been playing Tales of Xillia. I average an hour a day. Going to have to kick it up a notch if I want to beat it before Final Fantasy X releases, but I believe I have until the middle of March until that game comes out.

Re: Now Playing
So the setting of Assassins Creed: Great Fall is no doubt going to be revealed soon. I'm getting a little excited, I'm not sure why but I am. Surely they won't make another blunder, r-right?
Also the spare part for my PSTRIPLE might arrive tomorrow. Please all cross your fingers and toes that this works.

Re: Now Playing
There's another Assassin's Creed already? I know I shouldn't be surprised, but... damn.
After finally beating that stupid capra demon I'm getting into Dark Souls again. This time I'm actually going the right way, too

Isn't Ubisoft doing the ol' "Let's have SOMETHING in that series come out every year" garbage?

I miss the masons from Thief II. I'm waiting heavily on what you guys think of the game because Thief (Thief II, more) was one of my favorite games growing up.

I have little hope for this game, but we all discussed how this was probably the case. Who knows, maybe it's just this intro area.
someone uploaded the ending to youtube a bit back, and i watched it (its been removed now sadly) and based on that i wouldn't get my hopes up. It's Assassin Creed 3-tier bad ending.
Speaking of bad endings i beat Lightning Returns and uh I enjoyed it for all the wrong reasons. It wraps everything up, but there is one scene in particular that really stands out. It's so fucking ridiculous and stupid amazingly so. This scene would have been inexplicably brilliant in say Saint's Row IV but it's in Lightning Returns. It's hilarious for ALL the wrong reasons. I still REALLY enjoyed the game though gonna try plating it.
Also Symphonia HD it's literally the same game as it was on Gamecube with upgraded graphics and the ps2 versions extras. Only real problem i have is Japanese voice track is a lot higher uality (seems like they redubbed it), skits are voiced in japanese while in english its the same 10 year old track with no skits voiced. I really wish bamco would have did the same with the english dub, bleh.
Re: Now Playing
I just don't know why they did this...magic shit in Thief. I mean the world always had a kind of fantasy twist but it was interesting fantasy. And the thing that made it good was the thief (Garret, right?) was involved so reluctantly. And that voice...if he told me to take off my clothes, I would. Just saying.

I am going to start up Thief tomorrow I hope. I have never played the series though.
I have been playing Threes on my phone which is quite fun.

Re: Now Playing
Lightning Returns does not look like my cup of tea but they FINALLY did what I was hoping game-developers would do for years which is including the original voice track in DLC.

Lightning Returns is my cup of tea because you can dress her up as Cloud Strife!
I'll play the game, but i still need to be XIII-2 before I do that.

Re: Now Playing
You all seem to have crossed your toes and fingers hard enough as the spare part for my PS3 arrived today and seems to be working. I'm not going to feel safe with it until it's been a few days but so far so good. Now I just have a box of screws that I was too lazy to put back in which I'm sure will bite me in the ass at some point in the future.
Re: Now Playing
I'd say put those screws on, but I'd hate for you to put them on because I suggested it and then the system stops working. So just pretend I said nothing.

Re: Now Playing
That cutscene was so awful between that framerate and how it cut way too much and way too quick. Hopefully there won't be too many of those.

I was planning to but after taking it apart and putting it back together for the third or fourth time I decided not to test my luck, especially when trying to take the harddrive off it felt like it was bringing everything else up with it which was odd from the other times. Me and my mate celebrated by eating pizza afterwards and playing Persona 4 Arena, was good.
