Re: Chat Thread
I got Plus the other day. Gonna start the transition to digital games, and with Brothers and Tomb Raider I've basically already paid for it.
But now I don't want to get a Vita until a blue one comes out in NA. Am I too picky about this? I like my phone being black because it's out all of the time and I don't want it to stand out particularly. But when I'm playing video games I want to stand out, ya know? Is getting one imported from Japan a good idea?

Re: Chat Thread
Can we all agree the 2DS looks like the most uncomfortable looking and least practical console made in recent years? I'm surprised anyone wants one. Plus its name is stoopid >:l.
Re: Chat Thread
Vita = best system to play games on. 3DS/2DS = system with the best exclusives. That's how I see it
@Mot If I were you I'd just save up the money until it comes out here. Not sure how much importing would cost, but it probably wouldn't be worth it for me

Honestly, I can't see how 2DS could be more uncomfortable to hold than the original 3DS or Vita (thanks to that rear touchpad). Thank god for handheld grips.

Nope because i actually own one and really like it. Only issue I have is its back is just black. Otherwise I love it.
Re: Chat Thread
I still think the 2DS looks like it was made for alien hands. If it's actually somewhat comfortable to use, Nintendo must be magic

Re: Chat Thread
I don't get how it looks any more uncomfortable than any other handheld. The button placement is pretty much exactly the same. It looks different cause its one screen instead of two. You hold it just like anything else.
Re: Chat Thread
It looks like an old gameboy...which is fine I guess, I'd just prefer the clamshell design of the normal 3DS I suppose. Screen protection and whatnot.

It just doesn't look very comfy to hold at all. The 3DS and Vita angle off at that perfect spot so you can properly wrap your hands around 'em which the 2DS looks like it lacks. There's also the fact it the least practical out of the lot when it comes to a portable device which is pretty big deal for a portable gaming device.
Maybe I'm wrong though and it's comfy. If I ever get to try one I'll come back and tell you I was right.
Re: Chat Thread
Thanks guys! I think that I'm leaning towards a PS Vita because I already have PS+ and would rather have a handheld that I can play games on at my leisure. The fact that the PS Vita is directly connected to my PS+ account is great in the sense that I can have a smorgasbord of games when I buy the handheld alone. Granted, it seems like the 2DS has an outstanding array of exceptional games, I don't have as much free time as most to actually spend time playing the handheld device, so investing in 2DS games would be a hassle since I wouldn't know when I would be able to play a game next.
Thanks for all of your advice and opinions!

Glad you made your choice Lenny.
Man, Japanese health coverage is pretty great. I pay...not too much but i went in to a doctor today cuz I burned my hand (heated oil + Hand = you're gonna have a bad time) and it was "hey, I burned my hand" "right, well, ointment for you then my boy" Paid $10 for the whole thing, including the ointment took less than 40 minutes with no appointment.
So used to shitty American health insurance, having affordable coverage (that is decent) kind of blows my mind.

Exactly. I didn't out of American instinct of just dealing with it. But then I remembered it's super cheap and close by here so I thought "fuck it".
Also, any ointment you can get in a normal drug store are weak as hell here, all the semi-good stuff has to go through a doctor.

@Krubix - yeah, one of my friends was extremely sick while he was there (for his first time) a few summers ago and I can remember his shock when he came out of it with two prescriptions and a bill that cost them less than $60. I took one of my chickens in to see a Vet and it cost me $150. Absolutely ridiculous.

my mother is kind of like that too. It takes like telling her something 800 times to get any point across, and even then she still doesn't understand. I told her the other day to stop clicking on suspicious ads on the internet and five minutes later Avast is having seizures again picking up a shit ton of viruses. She still wonders how this happens.

I logged onto my school email today and saw I had a message from Matthew Thompson wondering how and why Trip sent a message to my school email before remembering that's what my professor's name is too

Re: Chat Thread
We should call Trip the Professor from now on.
@pspiddy - Not sure how I do it, but I'm a pretty nice guy so that helps. There's lots of George Costanza in me though, so that doesn't help. I'm at my worst though the very first day back from days off. Every single person that talks to me makes me want to commit murder.
Question for you folks, how would you guys pronounce this word - Hisense

I'd be surprised if there were another Bret Baber out there. If there is, he probably spells it with two T's like some kind of doofus ass.

We need a better way to differentiate all of the Matt's out there. Last names clearly aren't enough

I'll add a 4.
4. Make sure she likes video games, or else every time you play one when she's home you'll hear some bitching.

Re: Chat Thread
Leaving to start my journey to Germany in about an hour. Getting slightly nervous of having to do loads of stuff I haven't done before despite that fact it should be fine. I'm mostly dreading the long levels of boredom, first there's the couch to London for multiple hours, then waiting around in the airport for multiple hours, then sitting on the plane for however long, then getting off and sorting all that out. Just want the entire thing to happen all in one go, no long ass waits inbetween.
Will probably post on here once or twice while I'm away.

Re: Chat Thread
Any of you guys have experience dealing with an asshole boss? As in direct 1-to-1 confrontation. Got a series of super unprofessional e-mails from my boss, almost go to the point where I was ready to resign. Decided against it. Not have to confront him about the tone of those e-mails tomorrow but feel like he has all the cards.
Stress ensues.

Re: Chat Thread
At wal-mart, one of the store managers of my time had rage problems. During a meeting where they discuss sales and things of the such, he flipped on me and a girl I work with. After the meetings they do a Wal-Mart cheer (it's as stupid as it sounds). Well we were doing it, apparently not to the level of enthusiasm he wanted. After it was done he got in our faces and said "You will do the cheer, or you will not have a job at this company!" Later he got fired for pinning a department manager against the wall by the neck. He was a real psycho. It's fucking Wal-Mart, there is not one thing important about it to give any kinds of fuck.
