Anticipated Games

I think everyone interested in DW or Tales of Xillia or Hyrule Warriors would do themselves a favor in checking any of the others out.

I have played them before, though admittedly not since the PS2 era. I'm not saying it will be an AWFUL game, I'm just saying it's getting the Nintendo hype treatment despite looking like a reskin of another game is what my brain was trying to articulate earlier I think.

I think this is one of those moments where I don't get the internet. If you had simply said, "I can't get excited for this because putting a Zelda skin on a series I don't like does nothing for me." I get that. But you continue to emphasize your issues with the "hype" so it comes off like, "Why are you guys excited for this game? You shouldn't be excited for this game." That despite the fact that I don't think anyone here is hyping this like the next mainline Zelda or MK8 or Super Mario 3D World like you are inferring. Except Kay, but who couldn't understand that? She loves Zelda and Musou games and they are throwing in a shit ton of female playable characters on top of it. It seems like it is almost made for her specifically.

Before this escalates...which I'm really not meaning it to, I have not, and wont say you shouldn't be excited for this game. You are all entitled to your own opinions. I'm just saying I don't particularly understand the excitement (hype is, maybe, a bit of a loaded term) for this game. Just as in me, this guy right here. Don't get it. Definitely not attacking anyone's tastes, just expressing an opinion.

But yeah, I often take 4-5 tries before I figure out what the hell I'm trying to say, so if I offended anyone my bad...

The counterpoint is that it IS Nintendo and not even Houdini could pull rabbits like those bitches. Whatever, I'm going all deep and shit.

Anyway, I was reading about the Re-REmake and, personally, after reading those contradictory policies linked, I'm really surprised that anyone could be surprised about it. I guess the internet gives us all two cents and we'll break the bank cashing it in on mundane shit. I can think of worse things than an upgraded REmake.

I get why people would be excited for it, and I hope all that want it have some fun with it. If I was a really big Zelda fan I'd probably be all for it, but just being someone that only likes Zelda and has no interest at all in a Dynasty Warrior game is the reason why it does nothing for me. All of this talk is meaningless though, I own zero WiiU systems. Let's say Zelda was made by the makers of Dragon Quest and it was basically Dragon Quest with Zelda characters, then you could definitely color me interested.

I know what it's like to be excited about a game that others aren't: I play FIFA.

I think a large part Nintendo doesn't get flack for this while say, Ubisoft gets it for having two Assassin's Creed games is because there's that nostalgia element. Many gamers don't just love Zelda, they have a huge soft spot for it and want to see something goofy and dumb like this which another series that doesn't have a world and characters they're so attached to cannot offer.

But we don't give Nintendo a pass around here? Hell as this discussion was happening a few of us were giving them shit in another thread for their handling of the New 3DS. Not even Zelda gets a pass around here. I questioned ALBW's reusing of LttP's overworld before it was out and its rental system afterwards. We all constantly talk about Skyward Sword being disappointing. I guess I'm just not getting any of this.

Wasn't saying that you guys have been, I was talking VERY generally, not about the people on this forum.

For instance, when I'm breezing through other game news websites they seem to be treating this as if it were a new mainline Mario game when it seems like Nintendo's B or C game (which doesn't mean it doesn't have a right to exist...just is).

Which version of Destiny is everyone getting? I went with the vanilla PS4 pre-order from Best Buy since it nets a $10 gift card and Best Buy is the most convenient place for me to pick it up. The LE looked cool but not $100 cool. And all of the digital options bored me. I get why there are so many releases and such, but I honestly want to play the game and not think about all of the bullshit bonuses and what-not. (I'm not knocking anyone for choosing to go that route, I'm just talking me, personally.)

I'm probably one of the few here that isn't getting it.

If I do get it, it'll be the regular PS4 version.

I am not going to get it right away. I have plenty of Diabloing to do and I have a handful of other games I need to finish up that I am halfway through. And then there's always DOTA... But I do plan to get it at some point in the future.

I might just wait to get Destiny. I'm not sure. The beta actually turned me off of it a little and having just bought the Wii U, I'm not sure I need it right now. If I get it I will just grab a regular PS4 copy.

I pre-ordered my copy from Walmart so I'll get that Vanguard Armory stuff. I won't be able to pick it up until either Thursday (because of paycheck) or Saturday (because of birthday money) but with my current work schedule, I won't have much time to play it until the weekend anyway.

I've got the vanilla PS4 version paid off. Can't wait for Tuesday.

I've sunk over 50 hours into the PC version of this game, seeing it coming to the Vita makes me so happy. Hopefully they get the controls right, the new artstyle I'm not too sure on either.

Frozen Synapse is the first ever official Ajapproved™ strategy game, despite having infuriating escort missions. If it makes the transition well I might pick it up.

I just noticed Assassin's Creed: Who Gives A Shit is coming to PS4 while Assassin's Creed: Awesome Pirates 2 is coming to PS3. Boo!

I'm kind of bummed out. I forgot about Monday Night Football. Since we're back down to one car that means my wife won't be off work in time for me to snag Destiny at midnight. Damn the footballings! Oh well, if it's anything like other MMOs the servers are probably maxed out or laggy. Or at least I'm telling myself that...
