Honestly I'm thinking a couple years of military service may be my best course of action. We'll see what happens though.

Military service will get you veterans' preference in any police department if you discharge honorably, and you'll be practically a shoe-in (notice the qualifier though. ) Do you think you might qualify for OCS if you join?

On a serious note... just keep applying. Have you considered applying for anything outside of LA? Would you be willing to relocate to other parts of California, or even the country?

I mostly want to stay where I am. My family's too important and I love Cali too much. Right now I'm mostly just looking into entry level stuff for my position. Something that will give me a good paycheck and won't take forever to deal with, then I'll pick up the police process again

I've had an iPhone 4 for two years, so kind of due for an upgrade. It works fine. Every now and then it zooms way too far in with no way of fixing it other than shutting it down. And it's a little too slow, with bad battery life. The newer ones may be different. May switch to a Samsung Galaxy, looks to be about the same price for better hardware.

I still use a relatively plain Samsung flip phone. If I ever upgrade it'll be for a convenient camera. Despite being an avid user of technology I'm not fond of the idea of always being "connected."

mines a galaxy s4 and i i love it except sometimes if i have too much running at once it likes to lock up but if you dont have 50 programs running in the background its a pretty good phone

I also have a Galaxy S4. I've had it for about 2 years now so I'm due for an upgrade. I like it a lot... I haven't decided if I'm going to switch to the iPhone 6 or get the New Galaxy S6 when it comes out in April.

A Samsung Galaxy Legend. It's part of Verizon's pre-paid selection of phones. I could upgrade to a Galaxy III but I'm waiting for the price to drop. I've had my phone for a little over a year and its model is already on the clearance rack. It's been a really good phone.

I think I have an iPhone 4S (a 4 something). I'm cheap and this was a dollar with my plan when I got it a long while back. It does everything I need it to though. I think I have an upgrade coming up. Not sure what I'll get next.

iPhone 5S, as well as an iPad Mini 2. I like them pretty well, but don't really game on mobile platforms.

Welp, I'm back in America...feels weird. Thanks for the phone recommendations. Ended up going with a Sony Xperia. Works pretty good so far. Was a bit of a pain getting the Japanese keyboard working but other than that...

I went bowling the other night for the first time in a decade. I wasn't terrible. Managed a 120 and 140. I'm not sure it was all that fun though.

I remember one time when I was bowling I bowled a 227 one game... everyone in my group was amazed, thinking I was some master bowler. Next game I shot below a 100. I do bowl like Ron Swanson though. Straight down the middle. Like a man.

My friends got me a little drone quadcopter for my birthday, it's been a lot of fun messing with it but I suck piloting it so far.

Got a Samsung Galaxy S5 today. Didn't really feel like shelling out the extra cash for a 6. Like it a lot, love how big and more detailed the screen is than my iPhone's. Plus I got a free tablet with it.

I was close to getting that phone before I veered at the last minute to the Sony. I think that's the phone we're thinking of getting the lady friend too. Now to just figure out networks...and other bullshit. *sigh*

I hate job searching, I hate it so much. Meanwhile, there's a debate between saving up to move to Atlanta or to Austin. Both for the sake of film but it's a real dilemma!

My brother got me a VIP pass to a new comic con-type thing in Atlantic City this weekend. I have never been to one and I am pretty excited. There are a few TV show panels I am going to try and make it to (for Arrow and The Flash) which would be neat. Not sure what else to expect, but I am looking forward to it.
