I got Inquisition on the PS4. I don't think my PC could run games as well as my PS4! And I am still pretty happy about the whole situation. I still wish I didn't have to deal with it... I spent my whole day off the other day on the phone with customer service. But 5 brand new games getting sent to me over the next 2 weeks will be pretty sweet!

i'm not sure whether or not i even have a probationary period.
And yeah i was looking for part time so it worked out well
I think thursday night will be pretty hectic, but i know it will be better than anytime friday.

Re: Chat Thread
Black Friday is nothing now. Everything is all about Thursday. Kay, if you've never shopped during the typical Black Friday (because it honestly should just be called Black Thursday now), you're in for a real treat. Depending on your location and how big your store is, it might sound like the end of the world. A blind man could easily tell when 6 PM strikes, and probably a deaf man too. You'll get swarmed by people, and it's hard to move. It's like being at a concert.

Yup. Sale at 6 and sale at 8. I'm 11 to 8, so I'll only have to deal with one.

Are they paying time-and-a-half for working on Thanksgiving?

Sometimes I wonder how people in other parts of the world aren't living in constant fear of being killed by some terrifying death wasp or hell spider. Well, one less place to visit.

I'm glad we don't have huge spiders up here. But we do have these things though... and they are the worst. They are fast little bastards and they stand perfectly still until you are about to squish them and they take off, never to be seen again!

I trained at the cash register today and my feet hurt like hell. it was fairly interesting though i sold someone sex jelly, and some other guy bought 30 dollars worth of string.
It's funny though cause thats not my part of the store, but i guess they need me there more during the holiday sales. People arent really going to be buying bleach or paper towel during those.

Think about the people in India who live with cobras. 50,000 people in India die every year due to snakebites, and amazing it isn't even higher due to India's huge, dense population.
Or the folks in Oklahoma and Texas who live with tornadoes every spring and fall, especially in Moore, OK...

Re: Chat Thread
I think these two (admittedly skeevy looking white guys) might have confused me for a missionary? It was a very confusing situation. I was walking to the train station and saw these 2 guys in suits and I heard one say "Jesus man" or something to that effect and the other say "I love Jesus" and I gave them a curt nod and sped up my walking to avoid the god talk. There are quite a few missionaries in Japan (80% from foreign countries but a strong showing of ethnically Japanese Jehovah's Witnesses), almost always wearing suits so the image matched up in my mind. Mormon missionaries especially (yes, that is a thing that happens in Japan) tend to dress themselves well before going out to convert.
But then the details started to filter in slowly as I was riding the train afterwards. They were wearing suits, yes, but in bright gaudy colors: pink shirts, orange ties. Then, as the image further manifested itself in my mind I recalled one of them was drinking a canned beer as well. Now, as an added detail I was wearing a suit as well as in Japan it's still pretty standard practice to wear suits to work. So then a thought occurred to me: had I been M. Night Shamalamaloned? Were they "trolling" me because they thought I was a missionary? As far as I can remember I had just finished watching Interstellar after a long day at work and was not, in fact, spouting bible verses.
Long story short, it made me do a double take on how I carry myself and how I must appear to other people. Which is to say I look like a man of god, apparently. I think the confusion was compounded somewhat by the girl who sat next to me in the theater looking directly at me and giving me this big smile after the movie, which is rare in Japan. I couldn't tell if she was maybe a former student that I just didn't recognize or if she just found me attractive.
Now I know it was because she thought I was a priest.

Re: Chat Thread
So I just got promoted at work Thursday and I started last Friday. After 3 days I'm exhausted and haven't been able to touch any of my games I just got or have much time at all to myself. The nice thing is I will no longer have to work nights or weekends, but I think the long hours/stress is going to cut into my gaming time significantly. The last couple of nights I've been too mentally exhausted to even think about playing any games. I just got Pokemon though, so that might be my 'relax and play for a few minutes to unwind' game. At least until I get used to the new job.

Re: Chat Thread
Congrats Matt. I've been back to work also, though for my uncle's landscaping company. Gamestop isn't giving me the hours I need. Really grueling work, got up at 5:30 and spent the whole day digging holes for a home my uncle's building for a Blizzard developer of all people. At least I get to work with my cousins though.
