Didn't know you started a while back. When we catch you, you should jump back in.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Save file says I'm 8% in. I'm attempting a 100% story competition, but using guides to a T before I've done the same thing only to fall a % or 2 short, so I'm assuming this same thing will happen again. I've only finished 3 missions (opening, Mt. Gagazet, and Luca).

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
You can't get 100% the first run if you give the awesome sphere to New Yevon. Maybe thats what happened?
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I've followed official strategy guides on 2 occasions. What chapter does that happen in and I'll look out for it?

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
its the first thing you do in chapter 1. It will make you miss 1 or 2 points if you give it to New Yevon. However if you miss a couple of points the first time you can take the other route in new game+ to make up for them.
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I haven't had to do anything like that yet. Is it in Bevelle? Because I haven't went there yet.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Sorry i meant chapter 2 not 1. it gives you a choice of whether to go to bevelle or mushroom rock road before you can do anything else. pick mushroom rock.
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Mushroom rock kind of sounds like a stone statue penis, doesn't it?

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I'd like to climb Mushroom Rock, and after a long tiring climb, I'd like to sit my sweaty butt right on the very tip of Mushroom Rock. And smile, knowing I grinder this erected monument.
Final Fantasy X-2 looks really great for a PS2 game. It looks better than a lot of Vita games I've played, and I"d say the graphics are even better than some PS3 games. I'm taking it slow too, but I'm probably not going for a platinum. The 100% is something I really want to accomplish, but I swore I've followed guides before to a T with no luck. Right now I'm 19% in, and the guide says I should be 19% in. So that's good.
Here's my dresspheres that I have on my characters, 1 will be the main, and 2 will be the second one I'm working on.
Yuna
1. Gunner - Just feels right since it is her default dressphere. Seems like it is longer than other characters to fully max out, but I might be wrong.
2. Black Mage - I would have made her black mage, but...
Rikku
1. Black Mage - When picking between these two lovely ladies, Rikku had a higher magic rating for some reason.
2. Thief - I was hoping this would be the #1, but like I said above she had the higher magic rating.
Paine
1. Warrior - Because she looks awesome like this, and because you always need a warrior. She's the result of a Auron/Lulu love child.
2. Haven't switched her yet, no real reason to as of now. Hopefully I get something good before I max her Warrior out.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Classes should have the same stats regardless of character. Although not everyone levels up at the same pace iirc. Yuna is the last to level up in most cases
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
That was probably it, and I didn't even think about it. Oh well, I'm going to make her a Black Mage when I'm done with gunner any ways. Well either that or White Mage, if I get white mage before I get to that point.

Pretty sure it's "Tee" dus. Looking at the word though, I'd pronounce it "Tie"dus.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
The main characters in all the Nomura FF games are named after weather related things Cloud, Squall, Lightning (Sora kind of counts too cause his name is japanese for sky) that considered Tide-us is probably correct.
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Yes for the opening movie. I did have to double check to see if i was just for the opening or the entire game. Wiki says its just the opening
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Kay, do you have to do the publicity campaign in the Calm Lands and the look for a wife campaign for competition points? I'm pretty sure it doesn't, but wanted to make sure.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
You need to do the publicity campaign for the calm lands episode complete in chapter 5 and the Mascot dressphere so yes. The other one im not sure but as long as youre doing the publicity campaign you may as well.
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Fuck. There's nothing fun about the publicity. NOTHING!

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Just use the guide i never felt guilty about using the guide for that since its really impossible to know what to say to everyone.
Also if you use a guide you should have enough points by the end of chapter 3

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I have a sweet guide that was purchased by Mr. Spiddy! It never mentions though if you have to do it for competition points though.
You don't have to do it for both, right? I see that you could do it for both but I definitely don't want to do that.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
The completion checklist in my guide says publicity campaign, but nothing about the matchmaking quest.
Also its probably too late, but you need to rest in the cabin once during each chapter for 100% it gets you a bonus scene and upgrades the gullshop

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I've done that. One of the first things I did do actually.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I started a new playthrough of Final Fantasy XII last night. I love FFXII, in fact I rank it second only to FFVII as my favorite FF game, but I forgot how awesome it was, exactly. I stopped at the start of the escape from the royal palace and saved.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Combatwise I thought the game was very enjoyable, but the story didn't do much for me. I refuse to replay it until there is an HD remake. Why Square doesn't want to make easy money from shit like this is beyond me.
Square Money Makers
Final Fantasy VII-IX remade like they did for VII on PC with a fresh coat of paint, but nothing too absurd and trophy support. Square makes some fat cash. Bsically free money.
Final Fantasy XII HD remake - Like X, people will buy. Probably for both PS3 and Vita. Hell, triple your profit and make it for PS4 as well.
Dragon Quest VIII - Why not? Dragon Quest gets all kind of love on Nintendo systems, and with that Dragon Quest Warrior game coming out, why not give us a little cock tease before that release? The amount of time you could sink into that game would just be the best time you've ever sunk into anything in your life?
