I'm not having much luck farming 3 and 4 blank slots in the mountains. Maybe they drop in the next area? Look it up, Bret. Or maybe Kay can drop some knowledge?

I dont think you can farm those to my knowledge anyways you can however buy them from Rin on the Airship.

Ah, good. I farmed a bunch of 3 slots and one 4 slot in that little strip before the Bevelle Seymour fight. But nothing doing since. I'll post here if I figure it out. Even though it's kind of pointless when they can be purchased.

I'm wrong about the 4 slot; that's the Flexible Arm. The rest have names like "Variable" and "Glorious" but have 3 blank slots. And keep in mind I spent a few hours farming gil because I knew Yojimbo was coming up so the drop rate may be shit. And that's just for blanks. The lame stuff like +3 or +5 magic or strength and two blank slots dropped like candy.

I overkilled mountain Seymour for 25k with Bahamut and it netted me two level 4 spheres. That may be useful information to someone. I don't even have quick-hit yet so it surprised me his happy ass went down like that. It went down like Hastega, Silence, a few Holy Water, and then Bahamut overkill. Oh, I used the bird aeon too. I love that bird.

in omega ruins I got a lot of weapon drops with one ability attached and 3 empty slots. I spent a lot of time in there leveling up my characters. Also, it seems like I'm getting a lot of the same drops after you beat Sin and you're in the final stretch of the game (can't remember what it's called, and I have to go to work, and the book is too far from me, but basically the last dungeon).

Omega was where I did all my end-game leveling. Never bothered trying to beat the weapon in there though...I don't have the patience for that kind of stuff.

Ultima and Omega weapon are actually pretty easy in the original release anyways you can bribe Ultima for 1,500,000 gil, and Omega has less HP than the final boss. They changed things in the international, and HD remasters though Ultima is the same but Omega has 10 times as much HP.

The final dungeon is simply called Inside Sin.

I'm 50 hours in and just now arrived at the opening scene (not really sure how to word that but you guys know what I mean). Between blitzball and monster hunting I seem to be wasting a lot of time. At least I'm having a blast.

I beat the game today, but I plan on doing some side quest before moving onto X-2. My characters were leveled pretty high so the final boss was pretty much a chump.

Not one single freakin 3 sphere has dropped yet. I'm using luck and bahamut overkills too. Any other tricks you guys use? At this point I'm so conditioned to farming it doesn't really matter. But helpful strategies are appreciated.

There are no real strategies to getting them level 3 spheres are really only dropped by the defenders in Zanarkand at that point in the game and its mostly luck. Overkills dont increase chances to get rare items they just double how many you get

After farming for an hour, I have 2 level 3 spheres. I did it with the standard hastega, armor break, and then wail with Wakka, Tidus, and Auron. Oh, and doing dark break with Wakka. So what Kay said about not needing luck or overkill seems to be correct. Not like kay's happy ass should be doubted here, or on any jrpg forum, anyway.

It's not FFX related but how do you guys feel about Square announcing the enhanced PC port of Final Fantasy III? Worthwhile point or money grubbing whoremongering?

I got most of mine in Omega Ruins, but even then they were rather rare. After so long, I just got pissed and used return spheres and started at level 2 spheres. In the end it makes you less frustrated.

I think I'm the only one here who digs III. Whatever's clever. I think money-grubbing best describes it. After all, Squeenix called Tomb Raider a disappointment. I think they should take their heads out of their asses and direct the company back to making games. Or another FF movie because those didn't break the company or anything >.>

I'm really hoping XII comes to Vita. That would make the sewers tolerable. Seriously, with how easy it is to play X on Vita, I think XII would be even more improved by the platform. And that's saying something considering how I'm a XII hater (It's basically the same damn game as XI but with a dusting of Tactics).

The farming for 3 spheres isn't all that bad. It could be better if the equip drops weren't all SOS crap.

Those weapons should net you a decent amount of gil at least.

Some of them are 4 slots too so it's not as bad as I'm making it out to be. And I netted a few "distill power" 4 slots. I'm guessing those work the same as distill pots, but this is the first time I've seen equip like that so no idea. Maybe that's some runoff from the international version?

Talking about this game makes me think I'm speaking in tongues. Or Quantum physics. /le sigh

Distill abilities are part of the international version. They work exactly like the skills and items with the same names.

Ribbon was also added which is a prevent all status effects ability for armor. Only problem is you need to either beat a Dark Aeon or use 99 Dark Matter to get it. All Dark Aeons randomly drop ribbon armor.

If you can find a link to all the new items and such in the domestic version, I'd be very grateful. Like I mentioned previously, my brain is fuzzy enough during end game so the added stuff explodes my brain capacity. You're a champ if you link anything. Otherwise you're just a really cool person on this forum whom I dig.

its old and talks about the int version and not the HD version, but it tells you the balance changes, and new stuff just fine.

I'm glad you said that. I was wondering if I was crazy or not for getting all excited for quick hit only to be severely disappointed. WAY back when wasn't that what put Tidus ahead of Auron? Like, Auron was almost rendered useless when you got quick hit? Am I not remembering things correctly again?

Well i'd say they might be on eual footing with it not nerfed. Tidus's strength is nowhere near Auron's but he gets like 3 times as many turns. uick hit in the original release took as much time as using an item and cost half as much. You could spam it with Rikku and Tidus and no one else would like get any turns.
