I got curious so I googled "pspiddy" and sure as shit my name is right there from a Twitter account I've never used. Good thing for me another dude from Texas with my name does the music thing and permeates the links. /phew

Also, I'm listening to Incesticide because Bret fucking hates me and wants to hijack my playlist with nothing but Nirvana. I'd call you a dick, but I dig it. Not like it's Ginuwine"s Pony or whoever did the Train song. Ouch.

I was disappointed they didn't do a 20th anniversary release for Incesticide. Not that I needed a special edition treatment, but a remastering would have been nice. The album had a really low volume mix.

I attempted the pspiddy search and it came back a big ol' negative. Not even going to bother with the Andrew search. When I went to myspace, I was really disappointed to see they did away with my profile. Fuck you myspace, I loved my wall and you ruined it.

You do realize Incesticide was a throwaway to capitalize on Nevermind, right?

I know that, but why not make a little extra money 20 years later?

I've been listening to new Manchester Orchestra. Pretty good!

I prefer the Unplugged version, but when he screams "My girl..." it's haunting. I don't supper the Courtney murder theories, but I do think she may have cheated on him and urged an already fragile mind to do what he'd been thinking for years.

Listened to Todd Terje - "It's Album Time" today. This is "dance in your seat while doing homework" music if I've ever heard any. And the title is just the right amount of silliness

New Lana Del Rey song came out today. She's amazing.

Why does she get shit on? That's an honest question because I like her but I know a lot of articles seem to rag on her. /shrug

I think she's not as...dynamic live or...something. I honestly don't know, I think her voice is good, her music is good, so being out of the hype-cloud I have no idea what people's problems are with her. I think she's better than Lorde (who is a similar style) who everyone seems to love at the moment.

She's too mainstream for the indie crowd and too indie for the mainstream crowd. That's my theory, at least. She still hasn't convinced me to buy her albums but it's the kind of thing I'll keep the radio on for until it ends. Kind of like Foo Fighters

In case anyone here downloads music, bleep.com is having a pretty good sale on downloads. It's a pretty decent site I use mostly for electronic music, though they have a selection of indie-rock that isn't bad. $7 for everything on sale, and the best part is that includes higher quality files. Their MP3 files are as high quality as anything you'll rip from a CD but you might as well buy FLAC if you get anything because that'll get you all the other files types anyway.

Yeah, she got a lot of crap for her SNL appearance because "she can't sing". To me music isn't about having a whopper of a voice, it's about having honesty. A lot of other people always seem to write about how her daddy paid so she could be in a band. It's all so stupid. From what I read, people don't like her because they don't want to like her. Ajapam's first sentence was pretty spot on as well.

Funny thing is I never heard of her until her SNL performance, and I was so in love with it I went and bought her CD. That never happens with me.

I've been jamming that Del Rey song since you posted that vid, Bret, and couldn't escape the feeling that it reminded me of another great song. I finally figured out what it is:

Easy/Lucky/Free is my favorite from the above album I think, but really the only song I don't like too much is that Piñata song.

Fevers and Mirrors is my favorite Bright Eyes album, a pretty depressing album though so don't expect much happiness. If you do get that album, my favorites from that particular one are in this order...

Really though, I love the whole album, it's my 6th favorite of all time. To think that a 20 year old wrote all those songs is really amazing. Little fact, first album I fell in love with by the band. It found me at the right time, right after a girlfriend left me and the album literally felt like it told the story of my life. I've always believed good music finds you, and this album found me at just the right time.
