Re: Movies You've Watched Recently
Finished Halloween and carved some pumpkins and now I'm moving on to Phantasm.
Trip, my fellow Scream lover. I thought about watching that, but Scream movies feel like summer horror movies to me. Probably because they take place right when they're about to get out of school (first one any ways). I'm thinking about doing a Scream run sometime soon. Have them all on blu-ray and have only watched them once.

Rewatched Paranorman. For some reason stop motion just works so well for Halloween movies and this one's no exception. Rewatching it definitely made me add it with Ghostbusters for movies I'm watching every October. It's just a really good movie.

I've heard Paranorman is excellent and has some amazing animation to boot. Maybe I just heard that from Greenman though...it was probably you who told me to watch it. I'm sorry to say I haven't watched it yet but not for lack of interest.

Re: Movies You've Watched Recently
The only thing I've watched this week is the animated adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns. If you love the book like I do, you'll enjoy this: it does the source material justice and is well-animated, too.

Re: Movies You've Watched Recently
Watched The Conjuring... It's one of those movies that's great in the first half, and then starts falling apart and showing way too much. I guess I should've expected something like that from the guy who directed Insidious (HAHA the creature at the end of that movie.) Still, I enjoyed it.
I also re-watched Blazing Saddles for the first time in years. Damn that movie is funny. I still can't figure out that ending but I guess that's the point

I love the ending of Blazing Saddles to an almost absurd degree.

Re: Movies You've Watched Recently
I just watched the Much Ado About Nothing remake from good old Joss Whedon. One second I'd be smiling my face off and the next I'd get really sad. Overall a really fun movie. They shot it in 12 days at his house—what a life

Just got back from work and left with The Extended Edition of the Hobbit. Needless to say, I will be watching this soon.

Rewatched Django Unchained since I'm writing a paper analyzing its treatment of race and slavery. Once again, it's such an amazing movie. Actually really looking forward to writing the paper.

Re: Movies You've Watched Recently
I love Tarantino, but I shamefully haven't watched Django yet. Part of me thinks that is because I do not really care for Jamie Foxx all that much. I'm hoping for a really sweet deal on Black Friday.

Jamie Fox is awesome in it though. Plus, Samuel L Jackson's in it and yells half the time he talks. And any movie with Samuel L Jackson yelling is automatically worth watching, even if it's terrible like Snakes on a Plane.

^ That's sad. Monster's Inc. was always probably my second favorite Pixar movie (if I count Toy Story 1-3 as just 1, because I love them). It never looked that good to me though.

Re: Movies You've Watched Recently
Yeah, Pixar now makes...ok movies. I mean, they wont be BAD they just aren't magical anymore either. But all great companies fall, tis inevitable. I predict that some animators from Pixar will eventually splinter and form their own company.

Re: Movies You've Watched Recently
I didn't think Monsters Inc was meh, but it wasn't great either. Just a solid movie that did just enough without giving that usual Pixar magic. Brave is what I'd classify as meh and MU is a hell of a lot better than that.

Re: Movies You've Watched Recently
I guess I just really liked the monsters in their fraternity enough that I was entertained the whole way through. Terry/Terri were pretty meh save their introduction and a fun approach to how they scared at the end, but I loved the rest. None of them were close to Dug or Dori level, but it put the movie miles ahead of Brave and Cars.
Plus seeing all of the different monster designs is always good fun.

The mom "putting on some tunes" and rocking to scream metal was the joke highlight for me.

I haven't seen MU yet but I love Brave. Great animation, voicework and finely executed slapstick.

So I saw Thor 2 a couple of hours ago! I really wanted to see it this weekend because apparently the next episode of SHIELD is going to refer to it. I really think that Marvel is nailing this whole project.
