General TV Show Discussion

I know it's the point, but I hate them to levels I shouldn't hate them. Like I hate the actor and actress now because I despise their characters so much.

Haha I totally get where you're coming from Bret. I hate them so much that it's uncomfortable. I know that's the point but like it's not a pleasant experience to watch the show sometimes.

When I watch sports I tend to bite my nails. Game of Thrones is the only show to ever make me bite my nails. It has more tension for me than most sporting events.

See I'd rather watch Joffrey, a character that everyone is supposed to hate and is written that way and I can look forward to his comeuppance because his character deserves it. As opposed to some shittely written character who I hate because they are dumb or frustrating or whatever and I want them to die because they are just bad characters... like most of The Walking Dead characters. We can all agree on this right?

I don't think The Walking Dead are bad characters, some of them are just really bad actors which makes their characters seem bad.

If/when Joffrey dies will be one of my favorite television moments ever.

Well by saying most I was joking. Blaming the actors is a cop out though. Not sure what the actors could do to save Lori, Andrea, Micchone or pre-S3 Carl and the way they wrote them on the show.

I hope Joffrey dies slowly and painfully. Let's get a whole season of him being tortured. Then he can die

Also just to be clear I hate Joffrey too. I guess he just doesn't make me want to not watch the show the same way... say the lead girl of Revolution does.

He's like Andy in season 3 of The Office where the point was to hate him while The Walking Dead and Revolution casts are like Andy in The Office nowadays where they're trying to make you like him even though he's still a douche.

I hate the Governor. He thinks he's such a bad ass.

Anyone try House of Cards on Netflix? I have watched a few episodes and it is pretty good. I don't really like when he talks to the camera, but I have gotten used to it now.

I've been watching it. I really like it. Kind of gives me that fix I have been needing since The West Wing went off the air. Doesn't have that much in common but I am still enjoying it. I am almost done with the season. Let me know when/if you finish the season. Would like to hear what you think about it.

Will do. Watching it kind of slowly when I get together with my brother, but I like it. You'll be happy to know that I added The West Wing to my queue as well which I have never seen. Who knows when I'll get to that though.

I don't know if Youtube counts for tv, but I've been watching Transformers Armada. I haven't watched it since it aired on Toonami back in the day, making it my first TF cartoon I ever seen.

As long as it's a tv show, it's okay. Most of the cartoons I watch are on free streaming sites (I know, i'm a dirty pirate).

I finished up Damages Season 4 on Netflix. The way it all wrapped up worked for me. I hope they put Season 5 on Netflix before too long.

Also tried that show Vikings on History channel. Too early to say on that one.

The West Wing is pretty great. One of my favorite series of all time. I think I will go back and rewatch it myself.

Seasons 1-4 are fantastic. After that, Aaron Sorkin left the series and I stopped watching at that point.

Definitely declined after he left but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. Made me sad when they moved the show to Sundays because I knew it was the beginning of the end.

Been going through How I Met Your Mother's 7th season since it came on Netflix. The season had a couple good episodes, but the way it ended was so terrible. I'll check out the series finale, but fuck watching any more of that show.

I think I'm checking out of The Following. It only took, like, eight episodes - and none of it makes any goddamn sense.

The Following has really become too ridiculous for words. I'll be seeing this season through, but it is really just out there.

#1: If someone visited Joe Carol in prison, they're in the cult. I caught this after one episode, why hasn't the FBI?

#2: Joe Carol has spent all his time crafting this massive pseudo-military cult bent on torturing Ryan Hardy. Once Hardy dies, what's the point?

#3: Claire is a moron.

#4: EVERYONE IS IN THE CULT EXCEPT RYAN HARDY.

With this show, I'm not sure Hardy isn't a Follower.

In news involving much better television shows, they started a kickstarter for a Veronica Mars Movie and it is doing really well! One of my all-time favorite shows! I am going to donate once I figure out what I can pull off. I have never done a kickstarter before though.

I'm watching episode 19 of Season 5 of Buffy. Episode is titled "Tough Love". I love Buffy.

Veronica Mars Movie: 2 million dollars in 12 hours...

Also, it's funny you say Pug. My parents have had the same two Pugs since I was about 15. They are pretty awesome.

Very nice, very festive. Looks a lot like my dog. She's a shepard/lab mix.
