Here is the first trailer for that Insomniac game Song of the Deep:

A 2D Metroidvania type game I guess.

Pokemon Sun and Moon are confirmed for fall. You know the drill, I get super hyped and go nuts when they come out

I will definitely play that new Kirby game. Give me a reason to use either of my handhelds again.
Re: Anticipated Games
I'm really happy I upgraded to a N3DS after the announcement of SNES games on it. Gonna be grabbing both DKCs, ALttP, and Super Metroid on it. Enjoying Super Mario World for now.

Re: Anticipated Games
That in itself makes me want to pick one up...is that sad? That and Xenoblade (which I heard was very good).
Someone shout at me when there's a deal on New 3DS's and I'll consider it...

That C nub would come in handy if you want MGS3D since it'll let the game control like 4

It's a big bag of bull shit that you can only play the SNES games on a N3DS.

Re: Anticipated Games
I think it might have something to do with the way Nintendo is emulating SNES games. I'm not sure if the old 3DS can stabally run their emulator, they'd have to remaster them for it to work on there. Same reason there's 360 on XB1 but not PS3 on PS4

Re: Anticipated Games
I mean it is probably true that the old 3DS can't run the emulation. I would think the people who would buy a New 3DS just because it can play SNES games would be so minimal, you'd think they'd rather just sell SNES games to existing owners if it were possible. Unless they are just going for sort of another feather in the cap situation, but I doubt that. But it still reeks of Nintendo's complete mishandling of the 3DS from the get-go with its initial awful hardware/specs and their obnoxious decision to release incremental revisions to try and fix it ever since then.
It will also be lovely when Nintendo makes you purchase those games all over again if you want to play them on the NX. Not even a discount on 3DS for those who bought them on Wii U already as far as I know.

Re: Anticipated Games
Well they did give a discount for Wii U if you owned the Wii version. Which considering you could already play them on Wii U and were paying for Gamepad support wasn't bad, so I'd assume the NX will be different than the 3DS. It is BS to not get a 3DS discount since my accounts are linked though

Re: Anticipated Games
I don't understand, what are you proposing will be the case with the NX? Will you have to rebuy games you already bought on Wii U and 3DS VC? The Wii U gave you a discount if you literally had it on the Wii U system already right (bought or transferred)? I just don't feel like that is worth applauding. I never tried to rebuy any of mine, so maybe I am missing something.
Re: Anticipated Games
I'm not saying it was worth applauding, just that paying a buck or two for Gamepad support and Miiverse isn't the most unreasonable thing I've heard of. I'd take free any day but they gave me something other than just having it on the Wii U and I used my own discretion for which games I get on there.
As for the NX, it depends what the fuck the NX is before I say for sure. I could see them doing the Wii to Wii U method if NX has something to add to them or I can see them just putting the entire Wii U VC if it brings nothing new to them. I doubt they'd charge full price again

I realized I had an unused gift card so I went ahead and pre-ordered Uncharted 4. Despite my problems with 3...it's Uncharted, I like that series, it will be fun. And hey, also not my money so that's a plus.

Re: Anticipated Games
Sweet! I can't wait until I can dive into the game tomorrow. My most anticipated game ever. Work is going to feel so damn long. And for what its worth, the game director of Uncharted 2 split off to work on The Last of Us (and never worked on Uncharted 3). He is now back as game director on Uncharted 4. So I expect this to be more UC2/TLOU quality which I think are generally thought to be the better two of Naughty Dog's four last gen games. I will make sure to throw up a thread for the game so we can discuss it.
Re: Anticipated Games
I have Uncharted coming tomorrow but I unfortunately won't get a chance to play it much until Thursday. But I've never really been one to need to rush through a game the second it comes out. I'm still really excited to sit down and play it... But I'm going to wait until I have a 3-4 hour block to sit and play it. Definitely not a game to play in short bursts.

Re: Anticipated Games
I'm excited for Uncharted, but not sure how much I can play before the weekend. Excited to play it though, between that, Doom, TMNT, and Overwatch I'll be one happy gamer this month.

Re: Anticipated Games
Not sure if anyone on here is anywhere near as excited for Persona 5... but seeing a Japanese release date for September made it seem so much more real. Also some of the content in the trailer was pretty, pretty great. I know it has an impossible task following up Persona 4, but I still can't wait to play it. They better hurry up and localize it. I hope its not over a year past the Japanese release date.
Also, Pokemon Sun and Moon look solid. I'll definitely play the crap out of that.

I'm stoked for Pokemon Sun and Moon. Gonna pick up Sun and Rowlet. Which might be my favorite starter design since Totodile

Re: Anticipated Games
It sure seems like a new Crash is happening. So many hints at this point. There must be something going on right? I know Greeman and Twolf are pretty big Crash fans, what would you guys (or anyone here) want in a new Crash?
Re: Anticipated Games
I just want another classic style Crash game with about 100 levels. That's it. I understand it might be a better idea to evolve the formula, especially for the long term but I think 2 and 3 are pretty much perfect as is.
That said if they do go open platforming or with more dynamic linear level design I would welcome it. I just don't want any secondary mechanics like combat. Platforming only with the standard variety levels like animal riding

Re: Anticipated Games
Playing the PS1 Crash games again last year made me realize they haven't aged as well as I thought. It also made me think 2 may be better than 3 since 3 spends too much time on weird variety levels. I think it should undoubtably remain a linear platformer. The focus should be on platforming. The sort of auto-runner animal levels are the best way to add variety. And the sidescrolling levels. I don't like these as much as the best 2D platformers out there (I prefer ones that play faster I guess), but they are obviously an integral part of the series and work well.
I just think the level design for the typical "3D" levels should be more creative. They aren't hampered by the limitations of the system anymore. I think the more recent 3D Mario titles (Galaxy onwards) show how creative you can be while making a linear platformer ala the Crash games (particular the Galaxy games). The term you use dynamic is a good one. I don't know if any of the games post ND tried this though. Maybe they did and it just didn't work. I'm not saying they should be copying Mario either, just using it as an example of a recent linear platformer unrestrained by hardware like the early Crash games were.
I don't know. My two cents. If bigger fans of this series than me just want a redux of the PS1 games, I get that too and I'd have fun with that as well.

Re: Anticipated Games
With me the early Crash games are just so ingrained with my childhood that I can't see any flaws that exist with them. I know a lot of people have them but they don't exist in my mind. They occupy the same space as Sonic 2, Super Mario World, the original Star Wars movies, and 90's Simpsons where I can only see them as perfect

Re: Anticipated Games
Never was into platformers on PS1, except Klonoa. I got my platforming fix on Nintendo 64 and used the PS1 for RPGs. For me, Cloud was the true PS1 mascot. Who's making the new Crash - Sony or Activision?
On an off-topic note, I slapped down some pretty hefty cash for the collectors' edition of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. I'm a sucker for Japanese collectors' editions.

Re: Anticipated Games
The new region in the next Witcher 3 expansion looks pretty awesome. Not sure when I will get around to playing that (it comes out at the end of this month) but I'm looking forward to it.
Re: Anticipated Games
I'm anticipated for a game that to my knowledge doesn't exist, and that's Final Fantasy IX getting the same treatment VII did for the PS4. I know it's on Steam and mobile, but I'll gladly wait for the PS4 version that I hope comes someday.

So early 2017 has Mass Effect Andromeda, Persona 4, and Horizon. Yeah, at least one of those is going to have to wait and Mass Effect won't be one of them

Yeah, Persona and Horizon are two weeks apart at the moment... but honestly the way games get delayed it might not be an issue.
