Next Gen Consoles

I assumed it was multi-platform since it was Sega and Shinobi was on PS2. I'm not a big follower of the publisher/developer relationship thing. Oh well, goes to show how Xbox was a great platform there for a while.

The story hates the player? I'm in.

With how well the PS4 and Xbone are doing, why doesn't Nintendo just go ahead and sell a $200-250 Wii U bundled with NSMB U? Or at least throw in SMW 3D at the $300 range. Or make a poke'mon MMO and print money...

Between stuff like Drakengard 3, Tales of Zestiria, and Persona 5, I think my PS3 is going to see more action next year than the inevitable PS4.

At my store, the WiiU has been selling really well (compared to last year) with the new $300 price point and being bundled with New Super Mario Bros. WiiU and the LiugiU game.

X-Box1's have been sitting in our case for a few days. They sell, but not well. Tomorrow the PS4 is in our ad, and we have 30. I'll let you know how well they sell. I have to go in at 7 and they're on sale at 8. If you live by Lapeer Michigan and you're reading this and want one, don't say I didn't spread the word.

We got 30 PS4's, and when I left at 4 there were 4 or 5 left. People called about it all day, definitely more than 30, but not all sold. The two X-Box One's sat in the case all day. If my store was the norm, PS4 would be blowing X-Box out of the water.

I have a friend who works at Target. He has the same situation. Ps4's are consistently out of stock, Wii U's are selling like hotcakes... almost to the point where they are hard to come by and Xbox Ones just sit. He said those only sell when parents come to get PS4's and the 'settle' paying $100 more just so they get a new system. I think the price point is really all that matters, considering the Xbox One launch library is significantly better.

I figured it is probably the norm what is happening at my store, so when I see sales reports with the X-Box One barely behind the PS4 it seems a little confusing to me. We got I think around 30 X-Box One's on black friday, and they took like 3 days to finally sell and that was only a week after it being out.

I think Microsoft's really screwed up its messaging with the Xbox One. No matter what they seem to think of it as being an all-in-one media center, non-gamers are going to look at it and think of it as a game machine.

I think the price point makes a big difference, and honestly, the Xbox One's launch lineup is better only in very relative terms. Both systems have pretty weak launch lineups. Most people buying the One are doing so with the next Halo or Gears of War in mind, and most people buying the PS4 are in it for the promise of Naughty Dog and Japanese games.

Apparently Sony has some big surprises for E3. Maybe it's the return of Crash Bandicoot?

If the next E3 announces a new Kotor or next gen Mass Effect along with Crash Bandicoot I won't be able to play them. I'll die of happiness right then and there.

Activision seemed to squash the hopes of that Sony Crash game dream. Wish Sony would show stuff before E3. Because when can Sony's PS4 announcements at E3 really be expected to release. Remember that 20 PS4 first year exclusives. Feels like it can't be true now. I guess a lot of smaller games perhaps.

Caught Best Buy with some PS4's in stock online so I snagged one. I should have just gotten one at launch. I thought I'd be able to hold off on it... but like I've said before... it's new and shiny and I want it.

What games did you get for it?

I didn't get any games for it! I'm just gonna play a shitload of Resogun. I might just get a Gamefly and rent some of the launch games until games I actually want come out.

I've been putting in so much time with the PS4 that when I switch back to PS3 it really does actually feel last gen. Not just the interface and graphics, but the DS4 is so superior to the DS3 that it feels like I'm slumming it. Makes me really want to try the Xbone controller.
