Re: Anticipated Movies and Trailers Thread
The thing is that Sony really need a hit movie that isn't Spider-Man and when they have a zombie story this good with a strong brand name, I think they're really counting on this to be a hit a way Halo never had

Saw Thor was on FX and made the mistake of watching it. Not because the movie's bad, I think it's quite good. But every commercial was teasing Guardians of the Galaxy and it makes the wait for this movie so damn insufferable. It looks so fucking amazing!

@Twolf I guess so. But I never imagined it could've made a good movie. It makes sense if you assume producers care about quality... oh... yeah I don't know anymore

I somehow doubt they care too much about it turning out well...again, I'm happy with it staying as a game forever.

Not sure when I'm seeing it tomorrow, but I am super stoked. Haven't been this excited for a movie since Spider-Man 2.

Godzilla is finally out here, and I'm pretty stoked (love giant monster films especially with good effects). Also, totally excited to see it in Japan.

All my friends were more upset Brian Cranston was barely in it more than that Godzilla was barely in it. That's all I've got from the new Godzilla.

I'm one of those weirdos who thinks too much monster in a monster movie can be a bad thing so that in itself doesn't upset me.

There's no such thing as too much Brian Cranston though.

Well there definitely wasn't too much monster in Godzilla. I still enjoyed the movie quite a bit though.
I will probably be seeing Guardians of the Galaxy this weekend. Can't wait!

I need to double check to prove that I'm not turning crazy or stupid. Does anyone else think this looks pretty good even though it has absolutely no reason to given its idea?

Re: Anticipated Movies and Trailers Thread
It looks better than it has a right to be...but that does not mean it looks good. There were definitely a few decent gags in there though.

Maybe it's just the nostalgia talking then. It's been so long since Spongebob's been anything other than awful that even this looks pretty good.

It's like when the trailer for the Simpsons movie came out. Few good gags, but it was 10 years too late.

So the new Fantastic 4 is setting up Dr Doom as a Russian blogger calling himself Doom. No joke. I now want to see just how terrible this movie will be.

I'm not any more or less excited for the movie. It was just a bunch of clips, not much to go off. Still, really liked what I saw.

Seemed pretty cool. I thought the lightsaber with a crossguard seemed problematic, but I am not an expert on lightsabers.
Re: Anticipated Movies and Trailers Thread
I don't judge the practicality of a lightsaber as long as it's not something too stupid like children having one. It's just something that looks cool. And that new one looked cool. So I'm happy.

Re: Anticipated Movies and Trailers Thread
I'm as excited as I was before. All this really did for me was confirm that nothing looks awful. I'm sure it'll be good but I'm more excited for Battlefront 3 to be honest. Even though that has a much bigger chance of being terrible

Re: Anticipated Movies and Trailers Thread
And it was.
Did you (greenie) see the trailer for The Secret Life of Pets? I wish the whole movie were actually like that ad, but american movies wont allow an animated film without a villain, a central protagonist etc. But I would HAPPILY watch a slice-of-life movie about a bunch of pets hanging out in a single day.
