I have come to the conclusion that I hate Beyond Good and Evil.

I could see thinking it's meh, but hating it? That hurts. I think an explanation is in order.

I never played Beyond Good & Evil, but I always figured it was always one of those classics that did no wrong.

I guess that's not the case.

American Dad had its moments, but was mostly meh to terrible. Still, the episode where they plan to rob a Bar-Mitzva Ocean's 11 style was one of the funniest things I've seen.

Well I love BG&E. I feel like the hype comes from it selling poorly though. So like someone going in now might be expecting something amazing, but I think it is more like to come off in the very good to great range. Regardless it was good enough and unique enough with enough potential to make people sad it didn't sell better. A sequel could have been very special I think. Like as far as cult classics go from that gen, it's no Okami (not very close to be honest), but better than ICO and Psychonauts I think.

Hate it though? I can't imagine what's hate-able.

I wouldn't really say BG&E was unique. I guess the world, but the gameplay just took bits from other better games (namely Zelda). A sequel could have been great, but the first gets way more credit than it deserves.

Well the world is what I meant was unique. But it is not like there are a bunch of Zelda esque games out there. I feel the credit is well deserved if it's in the very good to great stab at a new IP sort of way. Some people go overboard of course but most games are like that.

Cartoon Network needs to drop the Family Guy/American Dad nonsense and do what's right and bring back Space Ghost and company.

That and the old Cartoon Planet, it was basically Coast to Coast for kids but it was just as funny.

I love Beyond Good and Evil but totally understand someone playing it now being underwhelmed with how hyped its been. It still feels really unique to me though. Sure it borrows from other games and is a bit of a mish mash of genres but the end product still feels like nothing else I've played before. It may not be a perfect game but its still probably one of my favorites.
And hate is such a strong word. At least give us an explanation (´･_･`)

I don't like the controls. Jade runs so slow it makes me very angry, and that fat pig can keep up with her because she runs so slow. The story is uninteresting to me, so uninteresting it is hard for me to pay attention when an objective is explained. I don't know what it is, the game just doesn't work for me. I bought it for the PS2 and got mildly far, and then I just recently bought the HD remake. I know I'm supposed to go to some factory, but whenever I follow that compass to the factory there's some machine that scoops me up and doesn't let me progress. Back in the day I got past this part to the factory, but for the life of me I have no idea where I'm supposed to go. It doesn't help that it has been a long time since I last played the game, but if the game's world was more interesting I'd probably have more fun trying to figure out where to go. The game never clicked for me, and I don't know why. I love a lot of these types of games, but this game just never drew me in and I don't know what it is. Everything about it bores me.

I guess I don't hate it, but I really don't like it. Decided to play it today to try and beat it to get it off my hard drive, didn't go so well.

I didn't beat it. Last place I was at they had just sent Peige away, not sure how far that was. Mentally I was done at that point though, just wasn't my cup of tea. Did like the world, the gameplay just didn't really click.

I never beat it either i actually never really played it much. I think i tried to, but that might have been back when I really wasn't in the mood to play anything too. I can't really remember. It seems like something I would really like just never got into for some reason or another. Maybe I should give it another shot.

When it comes to games like that I'm normally in the same mindset with Trip, but something didn't click for me. I don't think I"ve ever played a game where I wanted to like it more than I did. I want to like BG&E, I just don't and I don't think I ever will.

I'll give it another chance after i beat Tomb Raider. I think last time i tried it was back when i was just really depressed, and NO game was fun. I'll probably like it this time around.
