Everyone I've seen or talked to today has been feeling sorry for me. I told them all the same thing; The Rockets lost, not me. In fact, they lost in spectacular fashion. The series was entertaining outside of that bullshit first game and the way Asik and Howard were officiated. They have the more talented team but they weren't the best team in the series so there's really no surprise or excuses how it turned out.

I also got the "what should they do now" question a couple of times. As a longtime Rockets fan I've learned to trust Morey (GM) and Les Alexander (owner) to make the right moves. The only two cents I really have is that I gave Lin a chance all season when other fans turned on him. I think it's time for him to find a starting spot on a different team.

Too bad about Mark Jackson. As an outsider is it always hard to understand the differences going on between coaches and management which seems to be the cause of this firing. I really like him though and think he did a great job there.

Agreed. When he played for the Rockets he was basically brought on by Van Gundy to be an assistant coach. He wasn't really a factor on the court (I think that was his last season?) but he was the leader of the team. To be honest, I think there was some backroom dealing because a) what you pointed out and b) another team wants him.

I know we are in the middle of the NBA playoffs and they have been great so far but I am super excited for the NFL draft tomorrow. Bad thing is ill still be at work when it kicks off. Should make it home to catch the bulk of the first round though I hope.

Man, it really sucks to be a Houston fan. Astros suck. Rockets are a tease. And the Texans, wow, the Texans. If they don't draft Clowney or trade the pick for value...I don't want to think about it. I'm gonna go weep in a corner.

Living here in Houston I've heard all sorts of scenarios the Texans could take. But taking Clowney and hoping Bridgewater is still on the board in the second round seems like the leading theory.

That's pretty much the best case scenario. I'm not a huge football guy but I do enjoy the draft. It reminds me of poker or chess.

Wow so close on that scenario for the Texans but not quite.

Pretty fun early on. Some definite surprises. I'd say Bortles was the worst pick of the 1st round. Was hoping the Eagles would go DB or WR. First all the players I wanted were going right before we picked. Then we traded back and it happened again. Still thought we'd take Lee. Oh well. At least we gained another pick moving back I guess.

Really like the players the Packers got in the draft this year. Its always nice when you can list out your team's needs and the list of players they pick match those positions. You can tell NFL is king when you have the draft and my brain is already in football mode.

I'm a big MMA fan. This Bellator shit is NOT MMA. It's cockfighting at best. It's as crazy as when UFC first started. I don't like watching it because this is straight up dangerous. It reminds me of that documentary on unregulated Muay Thai. Not cool.

Tonight's was the only Finals game I watched and it was very impressive for San Antonio. Slow and steady execution like they always do it. Heat looked bewildered. I think the consensus reaction from the world is, "But....but...but they have Lebron!" I know I sure as shit thought that.

Holy shit! I'm so clueless I just now read Tony Gwynn died. That sucks. He was one of the best ballplayers of all time. As a kid, I saw him in the Astrodome and didn't understand why it got quiet every time he was at bat. That's how feared he was as a hitter.

Crazy. That dude personifies baseball.

And if he didn't chew tobacco, he'd still be alive. Still sad though. Amazing baseball player. The Brewers drafted his son years ago and he made it to the majors but was nowhere near the talent of his dad. I think Tony Gwynn Sr. was similar to Jordan in the way they combined a ridiculous amount of talent with a drive and work ethic that no one else could match. I read Gwynn had less than 450 strikeouts in a 20-year MLB career. That's nuts!

Soccer and ,to a lesser extent , hockey are just too damned complicated for me. It's like watching chess but the pieces move at an absurd speed and the results always seem random instead of calculated. I know that not to be true.

What the fuck do I know; I watch MMA and boxing and don't get bored when they "hug" each other.

I have so much respect for both. Going to an Aeros or Dynamo game was so much more fun than most Astros or Rockets games. Hell, my top 10 video games has to include NHL 95. That doesn't mean I understand it as it should be understood.

What I'm saying is I think I'm too "stupid Murrican" to get it. Bret gets it because he is geographically Canadian.

Soccer is probably one of the easiest sports to understand though, so feel free to ask if you have a question about it.

What's the history of soccer?

I imagine that Alexander or Genghis created it by holding tournaments with the heads of opposers. You can't use hands because you probably had a flail or sword in them. And offsides was invented when one team went to the other goal and started kicking the shit out of the other team. (I love my imagination)

Or maybe it was just bored people kicking shit?

I couldn't tell you why or how it was invented, but if you have any questions about the rules I could gladly explain them. One reason why it is so greatly adored all across the world is because it's cheap to play. All you need is a ball, everything else (cleats, goal posts, jerseys, shin guards) is optional. Pele used to play with a bunched up ball of paper with his friends. I don't know how hockey is still around since it is so expensive to play.

I fell asleep watching a ballgame on ESPN. In my never-ending quest to prove just how empty my head is, I dreamed the Astros traded Altuve for Troy Tulowitski. I hope to god there was some mention of Tulowitski during the game that's on because I honestly have no fucking clue who he is.

Tulowitski is probably one of the top-5 players in baseball right now. He's putting up stupid numbers right now... but its hard to say if he would do that if he didn't play half his games in that launching pad that is Coors Field. Altuve is having a good year, but Houston would do that trade in a heart beat. Especially considering Tulo is a SS, which is a much more valuable position than 2B.

Also, second base is legendary in H-town after Biggio and it is a crime he didn't make first ballot. SWA is all hacks but we all know that. Worse than boxing judges. /shakesfist

It's sad that I'm more interested in the Legends softball game than the home run derby. I took a nap through the first part. Which is surprising considering how fucking annoying Berman's voice is. Not sure how he still has a job.
