Is Dark Souls something I would enjoy? Penny for your thoughts.

Hmmmm the DRM is a bit concerning, I must say.

You got Ni No Kuni for PS3, you're set for life. You need nothing else.

Maybe you'll get lucky and GFWL will prevent you from ever playing the game online, making the game a thousand times better

Re: Should I Buy It?
I want to finish Ni No Kuni on the DS first, plus I don't currently OWN a PS3 (girlfriend does). Sad times.
Also, what's GFWL?

That's a mouthful. Shame that it has that DRM on it =/ it's pretty much the only thing that held me back. That said, I've got enough on my plate as it is, maybe it's best to let it go.

Has anyone played the downloadable game Dragon Fantasy? It looks like something I'd like, and it is on sale now. Just wondering if anyone on here has played it and can give any feedback.

Re: Should I Buy It?
I've played the first one. It's a fun, old-fashioned RPG that likes to poke fun at the genre while playing exactly like the early entries of Final Fantasy, Phantasy Star or Dragon's Quest. Book II is supposed to resemble the 16-bit era. I'm thinking about grabbing Book II before the sale is over. The bundle for both is a good deal if you're interested in some old-school NES-Master System-SNES-Genesis RPG action.

Re: Should I Buy It?
I am interested in all of those things. I'd probably play it on my Vita, just sucks that my Vita time goes to Tearaway, Chrono Cross (still working on finishing that game), and now every now and then Sonic Racing.
I'll probably buy it. I think there was another game or two that I wanted with that sale but I can't remember which so I'll have to look again.

Debating on getting Resonance of Fate before it disappears forever. Anyone try this out/have thoughts on it? I'm also interested in Tales of Xillia but figure I'll have another chance to get that (wont be disappearing from circulation any time soon).
ALSO, just for my notes (not planning on buying them persay). Thoughts on the following DS games:
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
Knights in the Nightmare
I love you guys...

Portrait of Ruin- Really good game. Not as good as DoS, but still well worth your time. Plus it has the best New Game Plus content I've ever seen.
Advance Wars DS- I don't even like strategy games, but this game rocks. Definitely a buy.

Re: Should I Buy It?
I wish I could find it at an affordable price ;_;
Castlevania still seems fairly cheap no matter where I go though. Might just do a LITTLE post-christmas spending >_>. I'l lsee what everyone else says about everything though. Thanks!

Re: Should I Buy It?
Resonance of Fate is pretty great, but its got a really high learning curve. It's combat system is basically a turn based cover shooter, it's well implemented but can take a uite a while to fully grasp
Story's kind of a mixed bag its full of interesting characters and good moments but it really never goes much of anywhere.
My only real problem is its stupid ass world map. its like a map like Nocturne's but in order to progress you need to use these items basically its set up like a grid enemies drop pieces and you have to place these pieces in the grid to move over the spaces.
I love Portrait of Ruin but the really generic animu kind of grates on me a bit, still a great game tho

The generic animu grates on YOU?! It must be really really grating then =p
Thanks for the info on Resonance of Fate, would you say worth $20?

Re: Should I Buy It?
its more the designs of the characters are just so hollow the story is alright though.
And yeah RoF is definitely worth $20 just realize the combat is really really hard to understand at first, and the tutorials are really ass. For starters machine guns dont deal direct damage and pistols deal very little. What you have to is shoot them with machine guns and the hp gauge will fill up blue then when they get hit by a pistol the blue will empty along with the base damage from the pistol, and thats pretty much what you need to know to start theres a lot more to it than that, but if you're willing to deal with it theres A LOT to love about that combat system.

I've got this idea that I can still hold out on Xillia and watch the price drop >_>

I wish I could go all Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on this game and replay it again and have it all be fresh and new. This game is definitely in the Top 5 games that consumed my life when it first came out. That would make a good Top 5 topic someday.

There are many games I wish I could recapture the wonder of playing for the first time. A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Final Fantasy VI (which was the first time I ever played a Final Fantasy game), Final Fantasy VII (my favorite game of all time), heck, a lot of PS1 games, Valkyria Chronicles, and Ni no Kuni fit the bill in those areas. Not playing a game for a long time kind of restores some of that, but it still isn't quite the same as going into it as a blank slate.

I agree, I try to space out my Final Fantasy VII and IX plays, but nothing will compare to the first magical experience.

Re: Should I Buy It?
Since a whole bunch of things are on sale on PSN soon... Are Enslaved and Killzone Mercenary worth the Ps+ prices? Are they really worth playing when I already have a backlog? Would I like Tales of Xillia? Those are the games I'm on the fence about

Re: Should I Buy It?
Can't speak for KZ: Mercenary, but as a RPG fan, I really enjoyed Tales of Xillia. It's the best I've seen out of that series to date. For ten bucks I'd download it if I hadn't bought the Collectors' Edition at launch. Enslaved for 5 bucks is a great deal, too, and I don't think Enslaved is that long if you're wanting to keep your backlog reasonable.

Lots of good in that sale and I can't afford everything. Definitely plan to pick up Spelunky (finally) Sly Cooper 4, Limbo and Puppeteer. And maybe Peace Walker.

Re: Should I Buy It?
Sounds like they have a good sale. I've played Killzone and the single player is fun on that, and the multiplayer is a bit tough because everyone seems really fucking good at it. Enslaved is a great game too, especially for $5.
