Re: Share Your Artwork
I'm talking about my MIDI keyboard. I think I'm doing this wrong... Crap I wish I had the slightest clue how to do this...
Re: Share Your Artwork
My mouse is blutooth but as I said it just...craps out after 10 or 20 minutes. Don't know if it's the mouse drivers or the blutooth adapter or something else obscure within windows. Either way, very frustrating.

I put this video together a little over a year ago. It took me FOREVER to time the action to the music. I got better as I went on though. It was a ton of work, but it was super fun too.
Re: Share Your Artwork
Got my first piece of music done finally.
It's a remake of this:
Personally I still like the original better, but it was a fantastic exercise.

Good job, I'm no maestro when it comes to that kind of stuff but seems like that would have taken a while to do. congrats!

Yeah it took about a week once I got the software all working. I imagine my next project will be quicker though now that I understand how everything works.
Re: Share Your Artwork
That's some good stuff. You picked a great song to remix, too. Didn't know game boy games had music that good. Which program did you end up using?

LMMS. It's kinda like FL Studio but with some more features. I need to DL FL studio though now that I know what I'm doing so I can harvest some of the samples / voices from it.
The only instrument in that song that didn't come with LMMS was the bell sound. I grabbed that from Sound Bible

Re: Share Your Artwork
Been trying to learn to use Reason so I followed Ham's example and remade something from my favourite soundtrack. I wouldn't call it a remix, though. I changed some the instruments but I basically just copied the song phrase for phrase to help me learn how to use the program. It's more like a remastered version, I guess. I'd have preferred to do something like Forest Interlude but this one seemed like it'd be a good intro
The next thing I have started is also game related but it's actually somewhat original
EDIT: And since this damn HTML thing isn't working on this site again: https://soundcloud.com/aaron-martel-1/hot-head-bop

Re: Share Your Artwork
I like the instruments you picked quite a lot actually. That's a really nice bass sound. As much as I like LMMS, it doesn't have a lot of default voices to choose from. I do miss the 'bubbling lava' sound the original had in the background though.
I still haven't learned how to properly mess with oscillators (I just used a default for the Lufia cover) What did you end up using at around 0:54? I don't know if it's a voice or synth, but it sounds like synth.

Re: Share Your Artwork
I tried to recreate the bubbling sound but it didn't work out so well. I had to make it pretty low in the mix or else it just sounded like wind.
I used a synth at 0:54. That was one of those default sounds that just worked really well without making much changes. My experiences with oscillators are still mostly just fiddling around until I find something that sounds neat

Maybe not an actual work of art, but you can look at my pizza I cooked. Figured this would be the best place to share it.
