Re: Now Playing
I'm loving Psychonauts, fetch quest stuff aside. It's amazing how creative this game is, though it makes you feel bad how uncreative a lot of other stuff is these days: films and TV included.

Psychonauts was fun! Although I gave up when I couldn't beat the last boss. Hahaha.
I am now playing:
Call of Duty Black Ops 2
Age of Empires Online
Candy Crush Saga
Soon:
Splinter Cell Blacklist
Occasionally but haven't touched in a while:
DOTA2
Skyrim
Age of Empires II HD Edition
Professor Layton

So I figured out how to activate the canisters. Tap the one you want to fill in the missing gaps, then tap the center one. Seems to take one more step than it should, but it's there.

I swear I did that, and it turns red when I miss the missing gap. Hmmm.

Re: Now Playing
I like the world(s) and characters of Psychonauts a lot, but it has some pretty mediocre (that might be a kind word for it) platforming controls/design. It came out during the Jak, Ratchet and Sly PS2-era for me and they run circles around it in that regard.
I will download that Killzone beta. I didn't realize it was available.

*when I TOUCH the missing gap.
Yup, the beta is out, and it looks amazing. Gameplay is pretty solid too, but there's already some champs out there with amazing shots. I'm scared that I'll break my vita playing a game like this, because I get so hard on analog nubs on my PS3 when I play Killzone. Also scared about playing FIFA, because I do the same thing on that game.

Yeah, having the game designers of Jak with the writing of Psychonauts would be pretty special. But you're right Psychonauts, the platforming is serviceable but not amazing.

Re: Now Playing
Tried Killzone Mercenary. All it did was convince me to buy Borderlands 2 when that comes out. It looks great and the controls are alright, but MP is no fun when I don't even have time to start turning around before I'm killed from behind over and over.

Re: Now Playing
Started up Killzone 2 today. Playing the campaign, and also dabbled in the multiplayer. I'm playing under my cousin's name because I like the sound of trophies. On my first battle I finished pretty high for only being in half of the match, and the next match I was top dog on the team. I love playing Killzone multiplayer.

Re: Now Playing
The multiplayer's really fun. Spawning's terrible, but I like the focus on smaller maps and fewer players. Not as fun as Halo or Battlefront MP, but I can see myself sinking a lot of hours into that. Think I'll just wait for Shadow Fall though, September's going to be busy for me and I can see Mercenaries dropping in price quick.

Re: Now Playing
I got into a map on my first try. I always switch to the European servers since they always seem to be playing the game. Killzone 3 is still up and going as well. The only thing I don't like about Killzone 2 is how long it takes you to upgrade stuff. In 3, you can choose the class that you want and spend your points on leveling up that class right from the bat, instead of waiting like you have to do in 2.

Re: Now Playing
Saints Row IV froze on me when the final boss had like no health left. I fucking want to punch someone. Now i have to redo that entire mission, which is fucking long. GODDAMMIT.
I preordered FFXIV and set it up for the early access and I'll be playing that if i dont run into anymore problems with Square Enix accounts. I don't even know what the id for my last account was and you cant find it anywhere.

Re: Now Playing
I picked up Blacklist on Wednesday but haven't had a chance to play. Probably gonna play some this weekend...but my evenings will probably be spent playing Black Ops 2, as they are having a double XP weekend, and I am so close to Prestige Master

Re: Now Playing
Tried the Killzone Mercenary beta. Looks and sounds great but the controls took some getting used to. I've forgotten how Killzone combat works and I haven't dabbled in MP on the console entries. I died so much, but that's a given.

Re: Now Playing
I'm scared I'm gonna bring my Vita if I play it like I do on my PS3 controller. Warzone is different than the PS3 games, which is a little sad to me.

Re: Now Playing
and its actually worked into one of the missions in one of the most amazing ways possible. I FUCKING LOVE that game but ugh that crashing fuck it.
Started FFXIV, playing an Arcanist on Lamia. Really like it lots to do and explore, and Arcanist is basically the perfect class for me it has debuffs, healing, and summoning. I love it. It's story is boring though i have no idea whats going on I just run to the objective markers and kill things.
Also I'm trying to platinum Mass Effect 2 on PS3 in one run. It actually seems really doable, just insanity might drive me insane without the bonuses from the achievements i had on XBAWKS.

Re: Now Playing
It's my birthday today, so I splurged a bit on myself. I went out and bought Dishonored and Bioshock Infinite. I bought the new Bioshock primarily because it comes with the original Bioshock game, and I already have Bioshock 2.
Re: Now Playing
I am still working on Saint's Row 3. I'm finding the companion AI a little infuriating at times. Otherwise still enjoying it.

Kay, my wife is getting me FFXIV tomorrow for our anniversary. If you're online, holler at me.

Re: Now Playing
I just broke open and played a little bit of Bioshock (1) and although the graphics are outdated and I don't quite understand how to toggle smoothly between my powers and weapons just yet, it's pretty interesting. I didn't think it was a horror-based game, or at least I didn't expect it to be at first, so I was pleasantly surprised as I was greeted by a crazed chick with hooks for hands in the beginning. I find it far less terrorizing, however, with maniacal people as opposed to Dead Space's necromorphs. If you've played the original deadspace, I'm sure you can recall the first playable chapters where you have to run down a corridor to an elevator as necromorphs popped out of various vents behind you.
I have yet to meet the 'Big Daddy' just yet, however, so I'm sure I'm in store for more in the future.

Re: Now Playing
The server I'm on is Lamia, which honestly seems to be the most stable one currently I've tried making characters on other ones and it doesnt go very well. My combat classes so far are LV 19 Arcanist/ Lv 5 Conjurer.SanAndreasX wrote:Kay, my wife is getting me FFXIV tomorrow for our anniversary. If you're online, holler at me.
The game really opens up once you unlock airship travel and have access to all the classes. You can give other classes spells/skills you've unlocked in that class really lets you customize your characters a lot more than i expected. I have a feeling im going to put way too much time into this game. When it actually works its pretty fun. I had some problems in the dungeon queues today though not sure but it wasnt matching me with anyone lol, but other than that it ran fairly well. Had a bunch of server errors and maintenance this weekend.
Re: Now Playing
How much does it cost to play this game? I've never read anything about a monthly fee.

Re: Now Playing
It's $40 for the game, and the monthly fee is $10-$15 im not completely sure, and i think you can save by buying more months in bundles and stuff. I think its worth it the game takes a while to get used to especially on PS3 theres a lot of stuff there, but once you get it its really fun. The servers have been a bit overloaded though cause its new. They should slow down by the 30th once early access ends.
Re: Now Playing
I'll definitely get it at some point, but I might wait until it releases on the PS4.
