Re: Final Fantasy Thread
That's what I was saying.
I've had many many FF dreams over the years, very few of which I can remember. I think I was in high school with Aerith once, and I was like "Oh cool, Aerith's really nice, that's like her thing" then she turned out to be a bitch and shunned me.
In retrospect that could just mean that I'm a horrible, horrible human being.

I don't think I've had dreams like you guys, but I was so excited for Final Fantasy VII that I had dreams I got the game and was playing it, but the dream was just me watching me play a TV screen that I never seen. It was like Final Fantasy foreplay.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I think I've dreamed I was actually playing FFXV twice now. That's just sad.
Ready to hugely embarrass myself again. I vaguely remember a dream that I was in high school and my love interest was Auron, despite him being like 30 years old. I think I was watching way too much romantic shoujo anime and that got all scrambled in my brain along with my unhealthy obsession with Final Fantasy. So imagine a lot of pink fluffy imagery and hearts surrounding me at my desk as I think "I hope Auron-senpai notices me...".
I'm not sure if that's any better than getting in a car with Seymour now. I make really bad decisions in my dreams. Really bad.

You'll have to be more specific with what you want to know, but it's certainly something that after almost 2 and a half years now I could rant out for a while.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
My blanket statement for Japan has always been that they're a culture of extremes. I could go into that specifically in a million ways but to focus on what you said specifically: Sexually, in day to day life, they're actually quite conservative. That said, historically they were not, that conservatism was imposed on them post US occupation so that kind of dualistic approach is kind of ingrained in the culture. You either see...almost no sexuality or even sexual interest or extreme sexuality. Regular...normal sex...not so much.
As for individuality, I think like most east asian cultures there is more of an emphasis on the group. More extended families, along with extreme proximity to a huge population kind of makes you into a team player. Japan's cultural conservatism also comes in here, there's a saying in Japanese that roughly translates to "The nail that sticks up gets pounded in", and you certainly feel that here. People who act out or try and get up and ahead of people at their expense tend not to do well. But then...in that culture of extremes hypothesis I have going, they also embrace so much of western culture and business where that individuality is needed and celebrated so they're kind of messed up like that. I mean, day to day, you certainly don't hear people talking about their personal achievements ("I did this/I do this all the time") which is good and bad. Americans can be a bit extreme in talking about themselves.
I could go into MUCH more detail...but I wont! *skidaddles off*

Actually, that was apparently a mistake which has since been retracted by Sony and SE. FF Type 0 HD is coming for PS4 and Xbone. There is not going to be a Vita version.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Yeah, heard about that. I'm pretty pissed about it, all I fucking want it some sweet ass games to play on the mighty comfortable PS Vita.
They won't give us new games and now they won't give us ports. As a Vita owner now I'm beginning to understand just how fucking irritating this is.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I can see where it'd be frustrating, I guess they could have made the PS4 version a cross-buy title? Is that a thing with PS4 and Vita?
However, since I'd given this game up as a lost cause years ago, I'm glad that we're getting it at all, and in all honesty, given a choice, I'd really rather have games like these on PS4 (or Wii U) rather than a handheld, so this works out nicely for me.

I'm sick of trying to get lucky and land that Zanwhatever by Yojimba. I think I've moved on for good.

I think I'm gonna platinum Tearaway and then I might start X-2. I'll go back to it at some point, but right now I've had enough.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
KAY!!!!!!!! KAY!!!!! KAY!!!!!!!!!
Now that I hopefully have your attention....
If I were to buy Final Fantasy XIV on PSN for PS3 (it's on sale right now for $12), I could then convert that to the PS4? I know you said I could do that with retail, just wondering if that applies to digital as well. Also, do they ever have deals on the subscription? I know you said you couldn't buy 3 month or year subscriptions to lower cost, but was hoping they at least do some deals.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
any ps3 version of the game can be upgraded to the ps4 version. Digital and Physical are basically the same in this case. The disc only has the client you still have to download the game.
Subs are
Standard: 30 days ($14.99)
90 days ($41.97)
180 days ($77.94)
Entry: 30 days ($12.99)
The difference is Standard lets you create 40 characters 8 per server and Entry lets you create only 8 with 1 per server.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
If I'm putting so much money and time into a game, I don't think I'd really want to have so many characters. Maybe I'm wrong in thinking that though. Thanks for all of your info again!

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I started today. Finished the very first part, which is only like 20 minutes in. I can't wait until the game opens up, I really love this battle system. It's probably my 3rd favorite from Final Fantasy games.
