Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Wait.... what? How? This is seriously distressing to me.
Can you use the old OST or do you have to use the new one?

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I believe this is the track spiddy is talking about
i dont know about it it is different but I have to actually hear it in game to make a judgement. I'm almost there in gagazet's cave rn.
Also no you cant you have to use the remasters tracks.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I assumed he was talking about the song before the start screen, where everyone is sitting outside of Zanarkand I believe.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
The OST was one of the things that I was the most iffy about. It's a cool idea and all, but to have everything else untouched (mostly) and then change the OST changes the feel a bit. I haven't played it yet, so I'll have to reserve judgement for then but so far the remastered OST I've heard is a mixed bag.

but that song is literally the same though i cant really tell much difference tbh
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
You mean Otherworld?
That's the ONLY song that wasnt touched AT ALL. It's exactly as it was in 2001
it was just re-recorded

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
okay i looked up human league and it cant be Otherworld. The track youre talking about has to be prelude.
The versions arent widely different, but theres enough. The remaster is worse, but i really dont mind too much cause its one of the weakest tracks in the game, and only there for a little while

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I dont think they fucked it up THAT bad, but it comes to music like this the less complicated the better. Less is more
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
That's usually the case. I honestly prefer the old version of the main FF theme before they put the strings in the background. That might be nostalgia though
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
A little heads up, Make sure you get all the destruction spheres the first time through. In the international version of FFX Dark Aeons appear in or near temples after you get the airship, and this is also important get the chest in the area you fight Yunalesca right after you beat her if you dont youll need to beat Dark Bahamut to get Tidus's celestial weapon.
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
So i've decided I'm going to devote tommorow to giving Yuna a staff with first strike, and giving all my money to Yojimbo in hopes he'll Zanmato that asshole. Will post pics when it works.
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Second try holy shit
i didnt get a good cap of bahamut dying cause i was too busy laughing
First strike is given with Return Spheres which arent really rare dont know of anything that really drops them though
Anyways im off to grind for gil in the omega ruins now since that Zanmato cost everything i had

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I never really do much with the weapon customizing. I know I should, but I don't. Not a fan of making my own weapons, I'd rather go to a shop and buy the best.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
With the weapons you can just get the celestials, but you have to make the best armor yourself. of course this point moot if you have a ton of gil. Just give it to Yojimbo and kill the toughest bosses for you
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I never really took advantage of Yojimbo. I guess it's the George Costanza in me, I'm too cheap.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Yojimbo's ultimate attack will kill any enemy in the game in one hit. how often it happens is based on this number.
How much you pay him for reference if the amount to make sure he does it is 536,870,912 Gil.
how powerful the enemy is
and his overdrive gauge grand summon works well.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
btw spiddy getting Wakka's Celestial Weapon reuires you to win 100 games OR one tournament.
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I'm gonna need someone on this forum to explain Blitzball to me I guarantee it.
Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Blitzball is basically like a game of basketball or soccer, but when the ball carrier runs into the defense it plays out like an rpg battle sort of.
Make sure Tidus knows the Jecht Shot without it he sucks, with it though hes one of the best shooters in game. Also get Brother when you can. This fucker can shoot, play defense, and is fast and has a huge HP pool.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
I like how the Besaid Aurochs are so enamored with Tidus when they first meet him on shore, and he's some professional Blitzball player from his world, but when you use him in the very first game he sucks so much asshole. Where's all those fancy shore tricks you enthusiastic prick?

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
CUT SCENE POWER TO THE MAX! Suck on that, Bioshock Infinite! Final Fantasy X did it first!
I think the "Sphere Shot" Tidus starts with is supposed to be that fancy move he does during the blitzball scene at the beginning of the game right before Sin attacks.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
it is but its not a unique move like Jecht Shot is most offensive players have it/can learn it, and its not THAT great I prefer the status shots to it. It simply adds a random amount to your SH halving a goalie's CA, or putting him to sleep just seems better to me.
There is one reason to keep the original Auroch's though even though they suck so hard. The shot in the game is Wakka's Auroch's spirit which add's Wakka's SH +10 + the original players SH to figure its SH score. it sounds awesome but i dont think its really worth it.

Re: Final Fantasy Thread
Last night I got to experience how awful the Temple in Bevelle is. Why they couldn't just let you run along that course is beyond me. Nothing about it was fun. How did that horribleness slip past everyone making the game?
