Watchmen is crazy good as a film. Take away the obviously brilliant story and watch it as the technical marvel that it is, and it's still great. Snyder took great care with that book. Gibbons was a consultant so that's probably why it is so damn faithful to the source material. And Haley does such an incredible job as Rorschach. I'd go as far as to compare it to what Ledger did with Joker. Oh, also the soundtrack is one of the best since Forrest Gump or any given Scorsese film.

I wasn't a huge fan. Love the comic, but the movie just didn't hit me.

I would worry about spiddy respecting me less but I think that ship already sailed.

I understand why a lot of people don't dig the film. That doesn't make it the correct opinion. I challenge you to watch the blu-ray some time and get back with your opinion. Sort of like how I watched Man of Steel 3 damn times and came to the same conclusion each time; it's shit. Same director too so I'm confident I don't have fanboy goggles on.

Maybe I'll give Watchmen another chance one day but at least we can agree Man of Steel was terrible >_>

I didn't like Watchmen, but I also never read the graphic novel. When I watched it I was only half watching, so that never helps. If I don't give my full attention, I'm usually pretty lost as to what is happening. My girlfriend was watching Frozen the other day and I was doing something on my computer 5 feet away from the movie and never knew what the hell was going on in that movie. Probably have ADD or something.

I think this forum is probably mostly ADD. My wife is always getting on to me when we watch movies because I'm basically spacing out the whole time and then ask her what's going on. Honestly, if movies were half as fun as my own head I'd pay better attention. (I should say movies that aren't Pacific Rim because that sees into my soul)

Well now I know what I'm doing when the wife goes out of town next week. I was all ready excited because of Falcon, but what you're saying solidifies a $13 viewing. She only wanted to see it for Chris Evans anyways...

I think what pushed it over the edge was how it used the continuity better than Avengers. That was basically how these guys all got their own movies for this, while Caps 2 goes more in a direction where it's taking what the Avengers established and completely turning it on its head while still keeping the plot very Captain America focused.
And it didn't have that buildup Avengers did where you just want everyone to fight together already. Not saying it wasn't worth it or the stuff leading up to wasn't interesting, but Caps 2 kept me in the moment the whole time while still wanting to know what the fuck was really going on.

I actually haven't seen that one, as well as Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 (I'll get to them before Avengers 2). When it came out I just wanted to get to the Avengers already and Caps origin seemed like the most boring of the four and I knew exactly what was going to happen going into it. Caps is much more interesting in the modern day than his own time, so I just knew what I needed to for the Avengers and was done with it. I'll check it out before Avengers 3 though when me and a bud marathon every movie in order.

Anything easy but cool or fun. Like, not Breaking Bad because there are too many episodes for me to marathon by Thursday. Movies like Indiana Jones or whatever are easy since I know them and can marathon while working. Those are both extreme examples but give the gist of parameters.

If you're doing a simultaneous RPG grind then maybe Marvel works for that. You could marathon some Spaghetti Westerns or something if you want to be super cool (in my eyes).

I literally watch a spaghetti western a week so that would be redundant. Between what's on Netflix and weekends on local PBS and AMC (while I do weekend house stuff) it is nearly impossible not to see at least one a week.

I decided to go with Quentin Tarantino before noticing True Romance isn't on Netflix. (Four Rooms is)

If anyone wants to discuss Reservoir Dogs, I'm down. I guess I'm going Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Four Rooms (just the last bit), the Kill Bills, then Django. That's the order I remember it anyways. I may do True Romance but I don't think I have it anymore, or maybe I'll be too lazy to search.

Anyway, feel free to watch with me or just discuss whatever I happen to be watching. Like I said previously, Reservoir Dogs is it right now. (Greenie or T-wolf can start a specific thread; I personally don't care about spoilers with this subject)

I just watched Pulp Fiction a week ago, and it's without a doubt the coolest movie ever made. From beginning to end. Still haven't watched Django, which is unlike me since I love Tarantino so much.

Also, if you never got out of the first season of Buffy you never got to the parts of the show that were good. When I have people watch it, I have typically have them get to the halfway point of season 2, when there's a big change you'll know it, and if you don't like it still to that point there's no point going forward. First season literally has like 2 or 3 good episodes, the rest is just kind of filler and doesn't have the same feel as the seasons after it.

Silly me, I forgot about that one. Sweet, the Blu-Ray is $7.50 @Amazon. So yeah, watching that in 2 days. Thanks for reminding me, duderino.

I'm going to try and do Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown tonight. I figure if I fall asleep during Jackie Brown, which is likely, I can start it again during the day tomorrow since I don't have to much to do.

@Bret: Give me a starting point with Buffy and a synopsis of what I need to know up to that point. I left off after she killed some people in a disco and then, like, faced the main guy who kidnapped a boy (hello NSA!) that is, um, satan or something?
