Sherlock is at the top of my Netflix queue. Hoping to get to it once I clear out the garbage I still have on the DVR. Also read the books first for GoT!
Re: Chat Thread
Hey guys make sure to get back in and vote for the end of the Music tournament. We'll finish this out real quick. Hopefully if we do it again some time we'll keep the pace a little faster. I noticed votes kind of dropped over time.

Re: Chat Thread
Got back from my week away on some trip with people I barely knew. I joined something for 16-24 year olds called Princes Trust which is a 12 week skill/confidence building course with a group of 12 people. Started it last week and everyone seemed okay then this past week we had to go into the middle of some fucking forest place and all stay there together for an entire week.
I haven't had so much fun in a long ass time. We all had to work together and get over our problems to complete the tasks one by one, and we were pretty much let loose in how we wanted to around this. Naturally we were all at each others throats at the start and it took us HOURS to plan the most basic shit but by the end we was just smashing through tasks at an insane rate.
Aside from doing all the insane things I've never done in my life like abseiling, canoeing, rockclimbing, setting up campfires with marshmellows and all that jazz, what was really enjoyable was just interacting with all the people which is surprisingly odd. I've usually been someone who could only be around people for a couple of hours before just shutting down but I pushed myself all week to just be around and interact with the team. What's even more surprising is everyone is so great. I don't share the same values or beliefs or even interests with them in any way but I just really enjoyed being around and talking to them.
As cheesy as it sounds I kinda learnt a lot about myself as well. I was surprisingly one of the calmest the whole way through and just had a totally chilled attitude towards most things. I didn't back out of anything either, if I was nervous about something I just thought "Fuck it, time to dominate dis shit." then done it almost instantly.
So yeah, that's where I've been. Had an absolutely fantastic time, I can't even explain how much I really enjoyed it. Absolutely loved the company of the others, loved the work, loved dancing around the kitchen with 4 others to loud music at 7 in the morning while sorting out breakfast, loved all the new experiences. Got a lot to reflect on and I'm really looking forward to the next 10 weeks of the course.
Will upload a pic or two the other thread if there's any good ones.

That's sweet. I went to a 10 day summer camp like that and had the exact same experience with the people.

Yeah that was my fault, I thought it would end before I got back to school but miscalculated and that slowed it down. My bad. Next time we'll tag team the polls between a couple of people.
I still had fun though and I hope you did as well.
Edit: Also, Rainjar, that's awesome man. Glad you had such a positive experience and it certainly looks like you took away some really good stuff for it. I hope your positive attitude continues =)

Nope, 2nd week out of 12. Well I applied for it last year but they got back to a month or so ago asking if I was still interested. So, I went and had my interview and they said pretty much on the spot that while they couldn't promise me a spot on the course I was exactly the kinda person they would be interested in having on the course, then turns out I got it which is neat. It's all about improving your skills and getting more things down to talk about at job interviews. Now that the residential stuff is out to the way and our group will need to focus on what we want to for our community project and how we're going to raise the funds for it. Then we get put on a 2 week work placement, improve CV skills and do some other things before having to do a presentation about what we've done over the 12 weeks at my old college.
One of the cool things is that I ended up meeting an old friend on the course too who I hadn't spoken to in years. There's someone who's really into films as well who I've got a list of recommendations off of, and seeing as his favourite film is Apocalypse Now I reckon he has pretty good taste. There was also someone I was a little unsure off at the start but he ended up being a really good teamplayer. It's also pretty funny having people who are interested in games and anime try talk to me about them due to the fact their friends aren't into them much. My current goal is to try get someone on the course to watch Evangelion which I think I should be able to do in the upcoming week.
@MotDrum - 10 days? I kinda wish mine was that long, sadly it was only 5.
@TWolf - Thanks!

Thanks!
Kay, of all the Evangelion characters you could have as an avy why did you choose the only bad one that is the main flaw of Rebuild series at the moment ;_;.

Re: Chat Thread
Hey, just asking for some advice.
Would there be any flaws in a plan to buy a SSD for my laptop and then use the HD I have in my laptop now to replace the one in my PS3? I've finally run out of room on my 80GB and I'm getting sick of deleting every little thing I might never use again.

Re: Chat Thread
I just replaced my hard drive without losing anything, just need to know a few things. An external drive to back up everything you have on your PS3. That hard drive will need to be converted to FAT 32 and have the latest PS3 update which you can transfer off your computer. Then make sure the hard drive you replace your current one with is FAT 32 as well. Backing up and putting the data back in will take a long time (took me 4 hours with a 128 GB HD), but now my hard drive's working fine.

Cool, I've played with the FAT32 stuff before. I'm just not sure what you mean by the external hard drive needing the latest PS3 update. Thanks!

Re: Chat Thread
The latest PS3 update. If it doesn't have that, the PS3 won't start up. This will explain everything for you

Re: Chat Thread
Okay, so if I have my formatted, blank internal hard drive in my ps3 and my external hard drive with the update on it connected, the ps3 will detect the update and install it and everything will be great?

Yeah, just make sure you have the data from your old hard drive transferred to your new one.
